@mollyhousemouse @Mikiesboy @Kitt @spyke @Reader1810 Thank you for all you suggestions. I talked with him this afternoon and we're going to come up with a game plan of what he needs to ask and we'll practice a few times. Funny thing is, he has to answer the phone at his new job and he has no problem with it.... it's just making calls that gets to him. On another note all together, my evening turned to shit once I left work. Work itself was fine today. Then I had the commute from hell, I left 10 min early and got home 10 min later than usual. Walked into the house and said to myself 'why the hell is it so hot in here?' Sure enough A/C was out. Yeah, I know it's November, but it's been in the mid 80s here. At least the humidity is low. They can't come out until tomorrow. Ugh. So we ended up going out for Mexican. A pitcher of margaritas and a burrito later and I'm not as annoyed. Thanks again for the help!

OK DICers, I need a little advice. My son gets anxious when he has to do something that he's not comfortable with. For example, he has his learner's permit and was eligible to get his driver's license back in ....you guessed it, March. Of course everything got shut down. Now that he's working and they are doing tests by appointments only, I've asked him to call and see if he can get an appointment. I'd really like him to do it as he needs to learn how to do these things on his own. He keeps putting it off because he's scared to make a phone call. Any tips on what I can do to help him get over this? Because of my work schedule I'm not home when the DMV is open, nor is my husband, otherwise we could be there with him when he calls to make sure he asks the right questions. If I call for him it negates the whole teaching him independence thing. I love my son, but I really don't want him living with us until he's in his 40s and we're ready for a nursing home. Also picking him up at 11-1130pm really sucks. So any suggestions would be appreciated! Also.....have a good Friday!

I wish cars still had those. Can't tell you how many times I've turned on the brights when I'm turning the blinker on!

Yeah...I remember that too! My first car had a cassette player, but my Dad's '76 Monte Carlo had an 8 track player that I loved. As a matter of fact one of my brothers had an 8 track player shaped like the detonator box for dynamite. It had a picture of JJ Walker from Good Times saying "Dyyy-noooo-miiite!" 🤣🤣

I'm glad they didn't take anything rick. I only had my car broken into once, back in college. They took all my cassettes (*gasp* .... I've most definitely dated myself with that one word!) and my spare change that I had...maybe $2 or $3. Had to drive home 2 hours in January up in Mass with a broken window. That was one cold ride! So far today has been OK, just slow.

I do too. Especially when one of them hits home just when I need it. Thank you @Mikiesboy !

I'm so sorry you're facing that kind of decision Fae. Loving those little furry faces makes it so hard. Hugs to you and SP, belly rubs for Little Man.

Why did the Jeopardy tune just start looping in my head over and over? Methinks your readers are jonesing for a fix 😉

One of our maintenance guys had a new "squirrelfriend". Every time he parks his golf cart at the office the critter comes over to check him out and if the cart is parked for more than a few minutes it'll hop on. 🐿 we've named it Skippy.

I'm not a fan of early darkness either. Although I consider myself lucky that I live far enough south that the earliest that darkness hits is about 545pm in Dec. I'm glad I don't have to live with a 4pm sunset anymore. I remember clearly those days of getting up and going to work in the dark, then coming home in the dark. No thank you.

Don't know about anyone else, but the time change has really messed me up this year. I'm usually fine, but this year I'm all out of whack. It's only 830 and I soooo wanna head for bed, but I know if I do, I'll be wide awake at 3am. I would not be upset if they did away with the whole thing.

I have some random dude named Spam Likely who calls me multiple times a day. Never has much to say though. 🤔

That's great rick! I'm so glad you're feeling better. I did early voting before we went away. I'm just hoping that no matter who wins people will act like adults. It's another beautiful day here. I'm happy that Florida is finally participating in Fall! Have a good day!

Hello? Hello? I feel like I've stepped into the Twilight Zone. Over 24hrs and nobody here?. I hope no one got abducted by aliens over the Halloween weekend! All was quiet here. I walked out my door this morning and it was absolutely gorgeous. Sun was out, nice breeze, and best of all 68F and no humidity, not a cloud in the sky. Going up to about 75 today. This is why I moved to Florida. More good news...my son finally got a job and starts today!! Well I hope everyone is OK and has a good day.

PSA.. Don't forget to turn your clocks back! (Or in my case...the clock in my hallway will finally be correct, I never sprang it forward☺)

Dogs are definitely worth it. The only thing I will never understand is how they can shed more fur than what's on their body. It should not be possible to sweep up enough fur to create another dog and not have a bald dog! 😂

Three words rick... Mandalorian Season Two!🤗 @Fae Briona dogs somehow exponentially create messes in direct relation to how cute they are. The bigger the mess, the sadder the puppy eyes. Works to their advantage. Every. Time. Take care of yourself. Have a good weekend everyone!

Sorry you're having a gloomy day rick. I hope things get better for you! @mollyhousemouse Bumpy is better than totally thrown off the rails! Stay warm! @spyke It's hot and humid here too and the breeze just kicked in. I need to start keeping a hair tie with me.....my hair always ends up in my eyes and mouth on days like this. I hope your day stays calm. It's been quiet around here too. 🤞 hopefully it stays that way. Knock knock Who's there? Cows go Cows go who? Have a good afternoon!

That was the manager next door. She still has another maintenance guy who's ready to quit. At least tomorrow is Friday Eve!

Glad you're feeling better! Things are ok. It's always hard to get back into "work mode" after a few days off, especially when you get caught in the middle of a tiff between your boss and a resident's family member who is being rather difficult and contradicting everything that's said. First day back...oh yay! *insert snarky eyeroll* Stay safe and dry... that's a lot of rain!

A major difference between men and women is the way we handle hormones. Being female, those chemical changes are such a huge part of our lives, from puberty to menopause and everything in between, especially childbirth. We know instinctively when, why and how hormones affect us. Guys don't automatically think "hormones imbalance" when "things" don't work the way they should. Your message will hopefully help others and you're a really good guy to lay it all out there for everyone to see.
