  1. That's a damn nice tat Pooh!
  2. Like I said....Pooh Bear!
  3. More like Pooh Bear 🤣!
  4. So snowbirds are definitely back. My 25 minute commute during lockdown and during the summer has slowly morphed into 20 minutes of decent driving with a 15-20 minute tour of downtown....which usually takes 5 minutes to sail thru. I really wish they'd stay off the road between 5-7pm. Then I get home, let the doggos out and the big one pees on the little one....again. 🤦‍♀️ This time it was the big one's fault. Little guy was minding his own business. *sigh* Friday the 13th....yay!
  5. I might be in a wee bit of trouble if that's the case! 😊😂
  6. Welcome @Sherye. Yes, we are a friendly bunch, sometimes a little zany, but it's a great group of people who you can count on to have your back or pick you up when you need it. ( @Wayne Gray.... he's a wily one 😉🤭)
  7. Things are finally starting to dry out. We have to re-tack two panels of screen on the lanai and I have to put in a work order for the screen door to our entryway. The wind ripped the hinge thingy up top off and tore a chunk of metal off the doorframe.
  8. I'd rather have a microwave than a dishwasher. We went 9 years with no dishwasher in our apartment when the kids were little. I guess if you have to replace one or the other on your dime a microwave is a lot less expensive! Now, our last place only had one bathroom. Never. Again! That is a deal breaker for me. At least one and half bath is a must. I'm glad I don't have to pick a fridge. Side by side. Freezer on top. Freezer on bottom. Ice maker/water dispenser. And now they have smart ones. Not sure if I trust an appliance that is smarter than me...lol! Too many choices.
  9. Household appliances as a topic...I love it! My favorite was a handheld mixer we got as a wedding gift. It powered through mixing dozens of birthday cakes, unknown quantities of brownies, puddings, holiday meals, you name it. It finally gave its life up making a trifle for a work potluck. I had it nearly 25 years.

    Chapter 10

    Very bad aura....keep going....😁
  12. Well...finally got my groceries...24 hours later 🤨 The delivery person never knocked or sent a text letting me know the stuff was there. 🤐 Good thing I heard the screen door shut on the entryway. At least the storm has been downgraded. Unfortunately we're on the west side which means we're going to get hammered with wind and rain thru tomorrow. The roads are already flooded and we have a new pond in our backyard that we share with our neighbors. The people next to them have lost a good chunk of their fence. I think I'll stay home tomorrow. Have a good evening!
  13. Wow...you just go ahead and channel that inner Karen as much as you need. Totally warranted. I hope things get better for you Kitt.
  14. Whoa....back up tim. Not all greatness is achieved by taking risks. It takes greatness to give yourself wholeheartedly to another person like you have with Michael. It takes greatness to deal with the challenges that face you everyday. It takes greatness to express yourself through your poetry in the beautiful way that you have with words. It takes greatness to admit that you'd be lost without your safety measures. Don't sell yourself short. You, and everyone else in the DiC are great. You all have touched my life in a way that is nothing but good.....that is what true greatness is all about. There is nothing greater than handing a piece of yourself over to another person..as a friend, a lover, a co-worker, even a stranger in need of kindness or a fellow DiCer looking for advice or something to make them smile. You are already great.
  15. Update...went to bed, still no delivery. Woke up...nada. went to work, started a chat session and now we wait and see. New delivery set up for between 6-7 tonight. Totally frustrating because the store contracts out for delivery service and the right hand has no clue what the left hand is doing. More frustrating because I was out of coffee creamer which should have been delivered so I had to stop at Dunkins drive thru in the pouring rain from this hurricane parked off the coast. The wind made sure the rain slanted into the window 😡. Final frustration....the customer service rep never once apologized. There's supposedly a feedback tab on my Walmart account....going to have to calm down before I even attempt to write anything. Ugh. Hopefully everyone else has a good day.
  16. Wow...I just got an email...my order is out for delivery, estimated time of arrival is 1036...PM. WTF? 🙊🤐🙄 Glad I'm not asleep already. Guess I'm staying up to put groceries away. SMH I think I'm changing my name to Karen tomorrow.
  17. His dad would've won if he had taken him up on it.... But it was so tempting...... you have no idea how much I wanted to flip that 'Karen' switch.....but alas....the adult in me squashed down the petulant teenager within. But there's always tomorrow!🤣 Hope your week gets better molly!
  18. My day was fine until I tried to find out why my Walmart grocery delivery hadn't arrived and spent the next hour getting hung up on, put on hold, transferred 3x and in the end....still no groceries. I'll deal with it tomorrow. My son came out at one point to ask when the stuff would be there and my husband said I was working on it. He sat down and listened for a bit while I was speaking (nicely) to a "stock coach". When I got put on hold (again) my son looked at my husband and said "ten bucks says she's going 'Karen' on him when he picks up" I snorted.
  19. We are so privileged that dogs allow us to love them. The unconditional love that they give us is incredible. That's why it hurts so much to let go. Your other pup will need you more than ever and you'll need her too. Give her lots of ear scratches and belly rubs and in return she'll be there with doggy kisses. Take care Fae.
  20. I'm so sorry Fae. Hugs to you both.
  21. The wrinkles were easy to smooth out. It's a sign of a good author 😉. Great job with the chapter!
  22. The wind and the rain are making me really sleepy at work today....just under 3 hours to go...😴😴
  23. We all need to take some time to enjoy the quiet. Thanks for the reminder.
  24. My son got his schedule for next week. He's off Mon thru Wed, which works out well as it looks like that tropical storm is going to park itself off our coast for a few days. Yay...*insert eyeroll* Only eight more weeks of 2020....we can do it! 🤪🤯😜
  25. Well, sleeping with all the windows open sent me right down memory lane. It felt like a summer night when I was growing up. We had a 3 br house with one bathroom. (For 8 people). My dad put one big window ac unit in the kitchen every summer, but the man would never leave it on at night. We could be in the middle of the worst summer heatwave and once the sun went down it was windows open and ac off. I'm not sure if he saved any money on the electric bill because once the ac went off, we turned on about 6 or 7 fans. Thankfully it was in the low 70s last night and it was comfortable. If this had happened a few weeks ago I would've headed for a hotel for the night. The repairman is on his way. There's a nice breeze, so I'll probably leave the windows open for the day, unless it creeps up into the 80s in the house. Have a good day everyone!
