Hope your pup is ok. It's amazing how attached we are to our furry kids. What kind of dog is he?

Murphy's law: I order groceries for delivery. Changes can be made up to 2pm. 2:05: Text from son--Mom, can we get the stuff to make mac n cheese for 20 people? For tonite? Me: π

Today has been a bipolar kind of day in the office. We've had people complaining and we've had people complimenting. We just don't know what we're going to get. The county was supposed to do Covid testing and flu shots today but apparently they didn't get the flu vaccine in so we had a slew of people show up for shots, and no shots to give. Ugh. On the upside, the people from the county said we had the nicest clubhouse that they had been to. π€·ββοΈ

I used to crochet too, it was relaxing. I don't think I could manage to finish anything nowadays. It's hard to do anything that requires manual dexterity. I love refinishing or rehabbing stuff we pick up at thrift stores, so I think an afternoon of secondhand shopping is in my future. It's been a while.π

It does, she was a wonderful lady.

I have my grandma's custom made China cabinet. It was a wedding gift. They got married in 1924 so it's almost 100 years old and other than a couple of nicks on the bottom legs it's in great shape. (I did have to find a new skeleton key at a flea market when the original got lost during one of our moves)

Same here for a lot of manufactured goods. We ordered 8ft fence panels last Feb (?) to replace the ones that were demolished when a car went thru the community fence. Gave the guy $800. Three months later he told us the factory was closed due to covid. Now his phone is disconnected and we have to start from scratch with another fence company. Fence panel is still back ordered. π

Those are so cute! Be careful you don't turn into a hoarder. I'd hate to see a headline "Canadian Couple Lost in Own Home: Knitting Nightmare as Stacks of Yarn Takes Over" π€£π€£π€£

Fae, have you tried CBD oil? I just started taking it a few days ago and while I still have some pain, it's not as bad as it has been for the past few weeks (both knees and thumb) . I haven't needed to take ibuprofen during the day for the past 3 days. That's a big improvement for me. I was skeptical at first, but in my case it does seem to help.

OK....going back a month or so ago to the conversation thread regarding the best ways to hide the bodies. Saw this online: When burying the body make sure to plant endangered plants over the spot so it will be illegal to dig. π€£π€£

I won't do shorts in 40 degrees.....but I will do flip flops! (If it drops into the 30s I might wear socks with themπ€£) The only closed toe shoes that I own are sneakers.

Ok....I made the mistake of looking at a news article that included the word "bipartisanship". The more I looked at the word, the less I was able to pronounce it....even in my head. π€£π€£ (Can you tell I really don't feel like working today?)

That totally sucks. Registrations for mobile homes are done thru the Tax Collector's office here(it's just like registering a car). Its always a nightmare. We used to make an appt, go, get told something was wrong and have to start all over. One home took 5 trips. Right after things opened back up we found someone at the express office (which we were told we couldn't use) who took care of 7 registrations for us. We gave him a gift card and now all we have to do is walk in, drop everything on his desk, call 2 or 3 days later and voila! Registrations and titles done. I hope things work out for you tomorrow!

I hate when that happens. One of our maintenance guys quit with no notice, just left his keys on the manager's desk next door on Friday. (She pretty much ran him off). He was a hard worker and really nice too.

@rickproehl not much going on today....working. It's been quiet. Fielding complaints because we forgot to put out a notice that lawn mowing will now be evert other week until April. People are concerned because the grass is a little high. Oh the worries of a Florida retiree! Good luck with the dental work. @Reader1810 I'm getting my flu shot Friday. The county is coming back for another round of free Covid testing and they added free flu shots. I like that word "free". @mollyhousemouse Hope your workday is a good one. Enjoy your visit with your daughter! I haven't seen son #1 in over a month and probably won't until Thanksgiving. He's probably moving to N Carolina next August so he'll be even further βΉ. It's nice to see them grow up, but bittersweet too! @Kitt Sorry your day isn't going well. I hope things go better. Chocolate might help....or wine!

Lol.. In my house I put the ceiling fan on and my husband puts a sweatshirt and slippers onπ€£

I can totally relate. Even when we lived in New England I'd have a fan on all night long. I'd so much rather be cold than hot. Now I'm only cold at work occasionally. The a/c doesn't have a setting other than sub zero. It's worse in the morning. I swear I could see my breath one day when I walked in. It was August.

I think with that much yarn (and please correct me if I'm wrong) you may actually have enough to make an afghan that would cover Michael's six foot forever frame from head to toe and wrap himself up like a burrito!ππ€

Silly me. I went to the bank today to do our deposit. Apparently it's Columbus Day and the banks are closed. One of those weird holidays that most states don't recognize anymore. It's 90 degrees out....doesn't feel like fall it doesn't feel like October!

That is so cool! I really thought the picture was black and white!

Why are there idiots who think that bullying animals is the best way to get them to cooperate? I'm glad his own horse showed him who was boss! Most horses aren't all that fond of small enclosed spaces. Really, how many wild horses search out caves to hide in? π

Happy Thanksgiving Canada!

I had two pieces....never mind bites. It was one of the best coffee cakes I've had. I think I got it at Aldi.
