  1. I just had to come cry to my Canadian friends because based off a post a little bit back you will understand. My electric kettle just died. I'm heating up tea water in a saucepan. I almost feel like I'm in the old West and am staring at my beat up enamelware in the fire while the cows low. I'm very imaginative. Ugh guess I have to flex my Amazon muscle again this week ( my phone case broke earlier....and as I've referenced I'm butterfingered a new one had to be purchased STAT)
  2. You may want to look at investing in a white noise machine (or if you can tolerate a fan on do that). Honestly I used to wake up at bangs/booms and storms but now with my white noise drowning it out I don't. It was hard to get used to at first. I had to gradually increase the sound level. But I don't wake up randomly in the night now at outside noises
  3. Night tim May your sleep be restful and your dreams sweet
  4. Oh no. I'm butterhanded a lot, and so my home only has acrylic "glasses" I've broken too many in all my years.
  5. Yes. Its every night now. I did hear that Ohio changed the fireworks law just recently so maybe thats it?
  6. Oh no lol. Sorry, I laughed because that seems like some silliness I would do.
  7. Thank. I hope so too. It was all so uneccessary. Sigh.
  8. Hey all. What a day. The funeral as expected was over the top with drama. The husband was a belligerent jerk and ignored the children. He brought friends, and one of them walked 2 of the kids outside. The kids uncle who is freshly 18 went out after them when he saw the friend moving them towards the cars, and this big ole 40 year old man was pushing the uncle, who is all of 110 pounds and 5'7. Big sister (the kids aunt) saw and went flying out there, punched the guy in the head. Cops were called. 6 cop cars. We couldn't even leave the parking lot. No one was arrested though.
  9. I hope people can change. And I also hold tight to the thought that most people don't do those things.....it's not much of a comfort, but I hope that all kids in those situations are found and shown good humans that do nothing but love and care in safe ways.
  10. It's what family does. Thank you though. I'm sorry you've had occasion to see such horrors. And yes. Substance abuse is a very sad road for all. It takes a lot of effort on many parts to combat.
  11. Thank you Rick. We will do our best for them now that they are back in the family fold. And ha! My side of the state. I googled, we are about 90 miles apart.
  12. Thank you Mike. I didn't know you worked in child abuse. Wow, I'm sorry not only for what I'm sure you've seen but for all those poor babes. As for their parents, mom is now deceased and the dad is only legal dad to 1, the youngest. Who even knows what happened to the other 3 kids Dad/dads. Tomorrow is the service which promises to be a sh!t show. I'm leaving my little one at home with my mom (it's not her side of the fam) because I anticipate drama.
  13. Sounds like a good day Molly. Hope everyone else was doing well today. It was extremely hot here in southern Ohio. I think it hit 90. Too much for me without any pools being open. Its been a rough week. I've put what happens in a hidden view. TRIGGER FOR CHILD MISTREATMENT Anyhow. This week can get smoother any time now. :glares at night sky:
  14. Happy Friday all. I'm so glad my workweek is nearly over. Hope you all have good days.
  15. I appreciate all the learning I gained from tim and of course you and MacGreg in the DiC. I once held the superficial views of the lifestyle that mainstream media portrays, and consumed media that I now know is flawed and dangerous as well as defamatory. and I'm glad I've learned better since then. While it may not be a way I choose to live, it's a valid and loving life as anyone with eyes can see from you and tim. Thanks for being you. The world needs more good honest people.
  16. Today was a DAY at work. I was so glad to be home. Read a short little novella I had been eagerly anticipating......it was ok. Kind of disappointed in it but that's ok. It was cute enough. The kind of story that starts strong and then. Meh. Anyway, what with work being so crazy and my hours being later I keep missing everyone in here. I've been kind of a lurker for months now, am trying to be more "social" again.
  17. Good night all. I'll try to come back in tomorrow.
  18. Oh no. I am team soft floppy bacon.
  19. Congrats to her. What a wonderful day
  20. Thanks. I'll hope the same for you
  21. Good morning all. I caught up like 8 pages, so there was a lot happening. Glad to see mostly folk are doing well. Hope those with situations in flux find happy easy solutions. Happy Thursday. I really want a vacation. But none allowed right now. We are having a wee bit of a staffing shortage. Sigh.
