She admits in last chapter's call that she thought Tyson hated her, and it's not unreasonable for her to reach that conclusion when Tyson was "a psycho" as she knew him - angry, aggressive and hateful. In this chapter, she seems disappointed or let down that Tyson summoned her because he didn't need her but a favour from her, but then she hugs him when he mentions he wants to see her again. Fostering love and relationships is not part of Belmont-Lovett culture, so Kelly likely didn't think to try when he was first committed. Charlie's situation sucks. Always falling through the cracks.

Hmm to me, Edith's never been "strong" per se; she uses an aggressive, ruthless attitude to assert power she doesn't otherwise have. Tyson's therapies are supposed to have been making the parallel between them since the very beginning. He mimics the behaviour he learned from her, evidenced particularly by the way his first instinct is to abuse people, even Vladimir, when he doesn't get his way, or when he feels weak or powerless - the cycle of abuse. Edith's weakness is echoed through Tyson's revelations as Cynthia guides him towards making changes to his toxic behaviour. I'm sorry if the reveal felt too convenient. I hope it feels less so in the next few chapters. Thanks very much for the comment! Edith and Chase are both reprehensible people! Sorry! 😧 My intention was to point out Tyson's fear that nobody would help Charlie, not that nobody could. That was my mistake. He does need support, but nobody in the AIU even bothers to make sure he showers and brushes his teeth. That's why Tyson is scared for him.

Though he has a poor record of self-harm and chicanery, Tyson does not at any point indicate his intention to make another suicide attempt suicide. He is indeed hoarding pills, but he still takes all of his scheduled medication and commits to "taking control," even if that means doing things the hard way - as evidenced by giving Vladimir space from him. Tyson reflects in previous chapters about how the public system continues to fail Charlie and that it will only get worse in the likely event that his father is elected and slashes the mental health budget.
