I enjoy reading the comments of others at the end of each chapter. It is seldom that all the comments are positive or all negative. People seem to read different things into the storyline. That is good as it indicates your readers are paying attention. Keep up the good work my friend.

With the Australia plot warming up, we now have two hot themes going at the same time. Lots of luck keeping everything straight - pun intended!

For your information, the causes and cure for a hangover are simple and moderately effective. The cause is two-fold both can be treated with the same method. Before retiring after an evening of no moderation - drink the largest glass of water you can find, at least one and if possible two or three. If you can keep it down, drink a sports drink too. The next morning, repeat the treatment possibly drinking a sports drink like Gatorade if it is available. That replaces the fluids which alcohol leaches out of your system and also the electrolytes. The sensitivity to loud noises comes from the fact that alcohol consumption caused the brain to shrink slightly putting tension on the dura that fills the space between the brain and the skull. Aspirin may help, but it also may cause vomiting which removes more fluid from the body and makes the pain worse. Gatorade and water are the secrets to hangover prevention/cure.

Progress of a sort - keep it up CJ, you are doing great, even with your cliffies.

This is confusing: The name of the river in Spanish is Iguazu, in Portuguese it is Iguaçu, both pronounced the same. . . There is a hostel on the Portuguese side and a Hotel on the Argentine side. The sign in the picture is written in Spanish so they are in Argentina, but the best view of the falls is from the Brazilian side and the boardwalk is also in Brazil. There is a shorter boardwalk on the Argentine side, but it is frequently closed, however, the Argentine walk goes right along the crest of the falls. Because the links to the photos don't come through, we are unsure of which side the meeting is taking place. I guess it doesn't make much difference to the story though, so I will not kick up a fuss, but the editorial staff, which by the way is first class, might have made that more clear. Oh, there is also a small airport on both sides of the boundary! If you visit the site be sure your passport has both Argentine and Brazilian visas as Passports are checked at both airports.

Lump shows up, behaves just as bad as expected and Brandon demonstrates that he is not all pretty boy, that there are some street smarts in there too. Scar also shows his KGB background causing an airliner to crash into the sea killing over 100 passengers and crew is a very thorough way of getting rid of some sellers and a broken spar on an antique airplane will deflect any investigation if any ever takes place.
-
Okay. we now know that our sub-plot group is selling military-grade Plutonium and the makeover for Brandon is beginning. He is already getting clothing and a new suntan, I wonder how long it will be before the haircut is mentioned!

Okay, Scar is in Rome so he is not of immediate concern, but I am sure his bald head will jump into the story soon. I am concerned about Lump, however. He is going to be lurking about and creating upset. On to the next chapter.

With Trump, Lump, Grump, or whoever not yet appearing and the introduction of Scar, you have created your normal level of confusion, CJ. Well, on to the next chapter. . .

What Is Your Favorite Story By Our Favorite Goat?
Will Hawkins replied to DarkPrince's topic in C James Fan Club's Topics
I am casting a vote for Circumnavigation as it was the first story in GA that I ever read. I just happened upon it by accident and stuck with through the whole thing. Mark Arbours series Bridgemont would be a strong number two, but apparently, he has dropped it with the ship and crew stuck off in the Baltic Ocean. I am waiting, however Mark. Now we shall see what happens with James and 'Let the Music Play'. I have just started that and notice there is also a second book. -
The word 'chock' appears several times in this chapter - correctly the portion of a drill that holds the bits is known as a 'chuck'. 'boosted the power with a linier' - linear axels - jumps in ice skating, s\b axles

for those readers who may not be familiar with the expression, 'to shock a pool', it has nothing to do with electricity. Any swimming pool that is required to remain sanitary enough to not infect human users with an assortment of skin and internal diseases normally is treated with a chemical containing chlorine to purify the water. Under circumstances of heavy usage, chlorine, if added to a pool in quantity will cause the water to develop a chemical odor which decreases the pleasure of the user. In order to prevent this odor, at regular intervals, a different chemical is added to the pool water to oxidize the excess chlorine. This is called 'shocking the pool'.

The involvement of the Piedmont Police Department keeps spreading - now the majority of the department is involved. Also, Eric now knows where the thumb-drive is hidden. That will open up a whole new can of worms. I do not understand, however, why that kid is not more tightly controlled. He is obviously deeply involved in some sort of illegality.
-
I am with the guys in this not to trust Eric stuff. Is he really gay, finally realizing it himself and coming out to his bro? Or is it all a big act to get him in good with the parents? I guess it will all come out in the wash.

Talk it out boys, it probably is not what it seems!

Just for your information, Arizona does have the Romeo and Juliet exception to the Statutory Rape laws. The law says the legal age of consent is 18. However, there is an exception in the law if the participants both willing and are close in age. Google 'Age of Consent Arizona' for complete information.

Something Borrowed, Something Blue
Will Hawkins commented on C James's story chapter in Something Borrowed, Something Blue
The expression, "I checked six", might not be familiar to some readers. It comes from the Air Force pilots communicating over the radio, "Bogies at 6 o'clock high" as a warning about enemy approaching. They divided directions off by means of numerals on the face of a clock. To check six, would mean to look behind you. At any rate, the actions of the police indicate something is up. Maybe they are involved with Eric is some illegal operation and are afraid of it coming out at trial. The presence of the 'suits' in the diner makes me suspicious about the police, too. I think the contents of that thumb drive (is that what you call them?) will be very interesting, especially to the police in the neighboring city! -
In addition to the crimes mentioned one can add Grand Theft Auto and blackmail and because of the orientation of our boys, all the crimes reach the level of 'hate crimes'. The only thing Eric has going for him is his youth - at the age of fifteen he will be tried as a juvenile and may have the total of his sentences reduced for that reason, though it is possible that, because of the number of different offenses, he could be tried as an adult. In either case, he will very likely find out in prison what being gay really means!

First Interlude - The Fiend Arises
Will Hawkins commented on Jason MH's story chapter in First Interlude - The Fiend Arises
Whoa, nothing like throwing in a twist, Jason! This indeed throws in a twist in the nickers, as our English friends like to say. So the Fiend raises his head in the next generation. That will take some working out, but it certainly adds spice to the plot. I am sure you will enjoy working out the twists and your readers will enjoy seeing you do so. -
There are two very important things - to me, to like about this story. One is mechanical, the author pays attention to grammar, punctuation, and pace. It makes the story fun to read. The other is characterization, developed entirely through dialogue and introspection, it fleshes out the characters making them real. Congratulations, Jason on your skills.

My first introduction to the Monkey Mia dolphins was in the story Circumnavigation. In that story, the author took us on an extensive tour of Shark Bay and NW Australia. My timing was wrong, several years before I read that story I went with the Seattle Men's Chorus on their performance tour of New Zealand and the East coast of Oz from Sidney to Cairns. I found the country interesting, though it did seem that every animal to which I was introduced had spines or fangs with venom, even the little koala! But the venom of the animals was made up for by the graciousness of the residents -- even to a group known to consist of all gay men. Remember, this was long enough in the past that being queer was the mark of Cain. In spite of some language difficulties, everyone we met was friendly and I will never forget eating a hamburger with 'the works' including beetroot and pineapple - it stood about a foot tall!

I believe that the faults in the Constitution are not in the language, but in the way in which the language has been applied. For example, the Second Amendment uses the term 'a well-ordered militia'. A militia has three interdependent definitions all of which mention a military-style organization, not a group of insanely angry civilians. Many times in the period just after the Civil War groups of frightened and angry civilians took the law into their own hands and lynched ex-slaves. That they were angry or afraid is not a reason to disobey the law and the same thing applies, in my mind, to a rabid teen firing a Kalashnikov into a classroom of innocent students. I would agree that the Second Amendment needs revision, but not in the way it is written -- in the way it has been applied. Not every backwoods teen needs a permit to carry. Certainly, background checks, meaningful background checks, should apply and no one needs an automatic rifle or one that can be converted into an automatic rifle by any garage mechanic, to hunt rabbits. Well, I guess I will never be invited to become a member of the NRA!

I am going to express a private citizen's opinion on a couple of Amendments to the Constitution. The two Amendments I would like to discuss are numbers 1 and 2. Amendment 1 guarantees to the citizens of the Republic the right to express their opinion freely about any subject, however, it does not guarantee the right to stand in a crowded theater and yell 'fire', as that would create a panic and result in the injury or death to many of the audience. Amendment 2 guarantees the right of any citizen to own a firearm, under certain restrictions having to do with criminal history and sanity. The point I am trying to make here is that both require sanity in their application. That sanity is the touchstone of our Constitution and should be applied in every case in which the document or it terms it is applied.

On a high-class yacht such as this one seems to be wastewater would be divided into two categories: from toilets it would go to a 'black-water' storage tank to be pumped into a sewer system when the yacht docks. The drains from sinks, the dishwasher and laundry would be stored in a 'grey-water' tank or dumped overboard into the ocean. were drinking wine for breakfast between Walker and me now challenging Kat and me to disagree with him He had gone under to get his hair wet I really wished you’d find better roommates I, This sentence is totally messed up -- it will require the author's help to get it right. Lucinda was looking on so we could get this over with and enjoyed this vacation
