Jason brings so much to the family and he is fun to write about. I think he keeps everyone young at heart and helps to bring the fun out of them too. Thank you my friend, comments like these from an author of your standing mean so much.

Charlie got more than a job, he got his pride back and that is very important. I think the way that Jason 'inducted' Harry he has gained more than friends. 🤞 That bigoted doctor could be an ex-doctor, it depends on how far the complaints go. Thank you for commenting Chris, I love the comments.

I am sooo happy that you are so involved in the story, it makes everything worthwhile. Make sure it is homemade soup, it is so much tastier. 😀 Thank you for the comments, they are encouraging.

Nowadays children know how STD's are transmitted, one doctor should not allow himself to spread false information regarding medical issues! Unfortunately, even now there are still some doctors, and others in the medical profession, who are homophobic and show it although to a lesser degree. Dr Bowers' brutal rant was brought about by the fact he was tired his guard was down after being on-call through the night disturbing his rest. This does not excuse his behaviour. The good thing about his behaviour is that now he has been discovered before he can do harm, he will likely lose his licence to practise unless he agrees to an awareness course and drastically changes his behaviour. Being a qualified doctor does not stop some from being ignorant and stupid, it's just in some people's nature. Thank you for your comments, and you are right that many children are more knowledgeable about STDs, including HIV than some doctors.

You are very close with your answer, if Charlie was not qualified his pay would be a lot lower. The time is set in 2011. Charlie's pay is about right for a newly qualified mechanic at that time. Taking on more training to improve his qualifications will see his pay increase, especially if he gets his MOT tester's license, MOT testers are usually well-paid.

Knowing that you experienced those feelings is good news for me. Dr Bowers' vitriol should evoke feelings of anger and shock in any decent person. And you have to love Jason, he's young and full of fun, I just hope he doesn't wind 'Gramps' up too much, lol. I love your comments, thank you.

The Baxter Boys are doing well, Charlie getting a job isn't just about the money, it's also about his sense of pride and self-worth, it's the first step toward becoming independent again. To Charlie, it probably feels like winning the lottery. Discovering that Stacy knew Harry's son is a mixed blessing, it helps with closure, but for Stacy it was news that he didn't really want to hear. This is based on the recent past, 2011. £7.50 ph for a qualified mechanic is about right for that time, an apprentice would be paid a lot less. Thank you for commenting and the next chapter will be posted on Tuesday next week. 😀

I love that you enjoyed the chapter. Charlie's wind-up after getting the job was fun to write, I couldn't resist adding it for the fun factor. I'm not going to argue about your description of Dr Bowers, I think it's very accurate. Now let's hope that the bastards who tried to break into Harry's house haven't done too much damage. The staff and performers in Manchester's Gay Village are a close bunch, so Stacy knowing Harry's son is easy to imagine. Thank you for commenting my friend, it means a lot to me.

Life often has its spoilers and it is true here, it's a lesson in not taking things for granted. Yes things are looking up for Charlie and Michael, and for gramps too. I hope you liked the way Jason inducted 'Gramps' into the family. But then Dr Bowers and 'would be' burglars had to bring everything back down to earth. Fingers crossed the damage at Harry's house is easily remedied. 🤞 Thank you for your in-depth comments, it's a pleasure to read them.

You are spot on, Charlie got the job by working hard for his qualifications, showing initiative, and honesty he showed in his interview, no doubt the reference from the college helped. His willingness to learn and undergo further training will have helped too. Spencer made his mind up after testing Charlie with the oil change. Stacy was hopeful so it was easy to for the lads to prank him, and I love humour, lol. Let's hope Harry's recovery continues. 🤞 Thank you for commenting my friend.

Charlie woke full of excitement. It was going to be a busy day, and he needed to be prepared. Unsure of what he should wear for his interview, he dressed in the same clothes he had worn the previous day. He needed coffee and a chat with Stacy before he showered and changed to get ready for his interview. “Cuppa?” Stacy asked as Charlie entered the kitchen. “Can I have a coffee, please?” Stacy raised an eyebrow as he looked at Charlie. “Are you sure that's wise? You look wired enou

Yep, @astone2292 is sure, it is me, lol. It's fun to see that I had so many of you outfoxed. For those who are interested, What Happened To The Baxter Boys is an ongoing story. Chapter 5 will be posted tomorrow, with further chapters posted on Wednesday and Friday. I can't wait to see who will be next on Author, Guess Who.

I do my best to bring the characters to life by making them as real as possible with feelings and values if you can see through to their soul then you are seeing a person, not a character and I have succeeded in bringing them to life. Thank you for the wonderful comment.

Charlie and Michael's mom was one of a kind. I believe she would be looking down on her sons smiling, with a happy tear in her eye, proud of the young men she brought into this world. I think she would also be thankful for Max and Stacy who are there for them in her absence. I'm happy that you and other readers can feel the emotion that I wanted this chapter to project. Thank you for the invaluable comments my friend, they are priceless.

It's a nice easy day for me so I can continue writing and going through Terry's edits. Then back to the hospital tomorrow pm. Next week is looking good with only one business appointment and two visits to the hospital so I may have time to spend at the shelter.

It may have only looked to be about 2cm in size, but it really was a huge tarantula! Honest!
