  2. Aloha Albert, things are not too bad thanks. I hope all is well with you and Steve
  3. Jubal and Lucas bring out the best in each other, and they are both starting to realise that. They fit together well in so many ways that it sticks out a mile, I hope it continues this way as they appear to be building more than a house and corrals, to me it looks like they are laying the foundations for a life-long friendship and hopefully more. They are both knowledgeable horsemen, which shows in the respect that they give to these magnificent animals. Horses and dogs are animals that respond well to being treated right, they are more than tamed and can become devoted friends for life, as can the right human. Their attitude towards the wildings reminds me of my dad when he bought a two-year-old that had never been handled, he showed love and patience. He never asked anything of the horse until it accepted and trusted him, he spent days just being there doing nothing except talking gently to the horse and didn't even attempt to touch him until the horse came and nudged him. He and the horse worked well together, my dad named him Benson and used the name My Gentleman Benson in the show ring. As my dad said, he never broke him in, he partnered with him and trained him. My dad never liked the phrase 'to break a horse in', apparently it sounded too negative as a horse should never be broken but encouraged to do its best. Thank you Gary for another great chapter to an excellent story.
  4. I definitely recommend this hard-hitting true-to-life story, it's a very well written story that is guaranteed to have you reaching for the tissues.
  5. I love you really, honest
  6. I'm surprised you need to ask, we can't pick on B or Page they are good guys, so let's stick to what's become familiar
  7. Aloha Albert, I hope you and Steve have a good day
  8. Absolutely beautiful, I wish I could grow something that beautiful.

  11. Good night my friend, rest easy
  12. Take it easy my friend, you need to look after yourself.
  13. I'm not doing too bad, as long as I don't cough, sneeze, laugh or try to lift anything heavy. I'm getting through a lot of swear words lol. How are things with you and Aod?
  14. Another great chapter that gives us a lot to think about. Jubal is certainly a complex character, but not so complex that Lucas can't figure out. Lucas is playing the long game, rather than trying to push Jubal to stay he is giving him the best incentives he can to encourage Jubal to stay. I think that there may be two corrals being built and two sets of oats being laid, one they will physically build together and bait to capture the wildings, and the other is figurative and being built by Lucas to lure Jubal into staying permanently. Lucas knows he has to tread carefully or Jubal will be frightened off. When you add the marks on Jubal's neck to what he has said and his fear of being discovered for his sexual preferences it sounds very much like the marks are the result of Jubal making advances after misinterpreting signals from another cowboy out on the trails, or was it his father, he's lucky to have survived. I hope they are successful in capturing the wildings, and I hope that Lucas can tempt Jubal into staying and feeling safe.
  15. Aloha Albert, I hope you and Steve are having a restful Sunday
  16. I don't know about recovering, but I am feeling better in some ways. Physically everything is healing as it should according to the doctors, although the headaches can be excruciating and moving can still cause pain in my ribs, it is lessening with time. My sleep pattern is all over the place and disturbed as I refuse to take pills to help me sleep, but I may rethink that. There was nothing much for me to catch up on with work, my friend Martin and his wife have done an excellent job looking after my contracts. It is a good thing as I'm having trouble concentrating on anything which is frustrating. I think they have earned a good bonus. I got emotional yesterday when I had a visit from a couple of the project workers, they brought a few letters and homemade get-well cards from some of our regular guests which got t me a bit, it's made me feel more determined to get past this and back to normal. I know I'll need some help so maybe seeing my therapist is going to be part of my new normal. I'm just hoping they don't remove me from the T-list. I've got the first of my follow-up appointments next week, hopefully, they will go well 🤞
  17. And I thought it was a device to save money as that is where a lot of my loose change always falls

Thank you for a beautiful and touching story that was a delight to read. I'll be looking forward to reading your future works.
  19. Yeah we all know you have a big mouth, that's the only thing big about you apart from your big hobbity feet lol I guess now I'll be called a bully for stating the truth
  20. Thank you @FanLit, although it will take time I'm already on the right road to recovery, I had to spend a few days in the hospital but I'm home now and slowly getting back to normal. I live in the North West of England where the weather can be very fickle but it's usually milder than in your part of the world. Currently, the temperatures are mild but it is rather wet, windy and unsettled which is typical for Manchester.
  21. When checking the dates on food the following is the recommended way to interpret them. A use-by date should be adhered to as the food is likely to be unfit for consumption after that date. A sell-by date is one that may be able to be eaten after the date, some foods will only be safe to eat for a short time after the date while others may still be safe to eat months after the displayed date. A best-before date is an indication that the food is best consumed before the displayed date to enjoy it at its best, after that, the quality may deteriorate but it should still be safe to eat, in some cases even years after the date. All food should be stored correctly as per the producer's recommendations, usually printed on the packaging, as the conditions of storage can affect its quality and could shorten its shelf-life if stored incorrectly. It is wise to use your senses as the best guide the same as they used to before we started to apply dates to food; Sight - does it look as it should? If it does then it may be safe to eat. Smell - does it smell as it should? If it does then it may be safe to eat. Taste - does it taste as it should? [it is recommended to taste a small sample] If it does and it satisfies the first two questions then it is safe to eat. Remember our ancestors used their senses as their only guide to decide if food was safe to eat and it served them well for generations. I hope that helps.
  22. I'm sure that when you bend the truth or lies it equates to the same thing, the Drewth.
  23. I'm late to the party this week, sorry about that I've been a bit out of sorts, but it's never too late to leave a comment on this story. Jubal has his demons to deal with and his recent run-in with the bushwhackers is another demon to add to the list. I really hope that he is successful in dealing with them. It seems that Lucas also has something to deal with, is Reid jealous of the bonds that are being formed between Lucas and Jubal? As for the bonds that are being formed? Well, I think that a certain woodpile owner has seen, recognised and of them. I'm looking forward to seeing more about the growing relationship and watching it grow. Yes, when you read the dialogue and open your imagination you see what is happening in Bearpaw, that's the magic of this story.
