  1. I think you missed it, anyway, clo... Look at the date on the invitation. (Although it could mean 20th April next year.)
  2. And you, Gary!
  3. What time should we be there? So were you one of the people who drove him to the hospital, clo...?
  4. Greetings, Albert!
  5. The following is taken from the Gay Authors Help pages:
  6. That's you and Gary after you finished school, Albert?
  7. Our fighting fairy.
  8. It is indeed. Hi, Gary. All good with you, I hope.
  9. Assuming that you win the appeal, and also assuming that your marks for the original exam paper are higher than the marks you achieve in the second chance exam, would I be correct in assuming that you will receive the higher of the two marks? (Gosh! I used the word 'assuming' three times in that sentence...) [Not as good a day here, as in Picardy. There was some rain this morning, but I was happy enough about that, as I transplanted some seedlings yesterday. Currently cloudy but dry, with a high of 17°C/63°F forecast.]
  10. Greetings, young man! How are you today?
  11. So, this morning I attended my local heath centre for a regular check up that should have been done in February, but had been delayed due to the pandemic... When I was contacted last Friday about this, I was told that I would need to fast for at least 13 hours beforehand as one of the things to be checked would be my bloods (importantly to check my blood sugar and cholesterol levels due to my Type 2 diabetic status). As my appointment was at 11:00am this meant I would be getting a very late breakfast today. On 14 May last, the Health Service Executive (HSE) of Ireland suffered a major ransomware cyberattack that caused all of its IT systems nationwide to be shut down. Although much of the system has since been reinstated, it has resulted in backlogs to various appointments, procedures, etc. So when I went in to see the nurse who was doing the check-up this morning, she informed me that non-urgent blood testing is still not being done. So, as I am not considered an urgent case, she didn't take any blood samples. Which meant I hadn't needed to skip breakfast. Codamnit! Good news is that all the tests she was able to do - blood pressure (132/85), weight (79kg/174lb), circulation and sensitivity in feet, and ECG - were all satisfactory. I was told I will be automatically contacted (hopefully in the not too distant future) with an appointment for when the blood samples can be taken.
  12. Hopefully (assuming you weren't given them at the end) the results will be okay...
  13. Sleep well, Mr B!
  14. Greetings, young Albert!
  15. Greetings, oh artful one!
  16. Greetings, Albert! The weather in that photo looks similar to what we have here in Ireland, at the moment. Temperatures across the island creeping up to to 25°C/77°F, although it's only around 20°C/68°F in my part of the country. Still, that feels really warm considering what we usually get. Sad thing is that changeable weather is on the way, with Met Éireann forecasting rain, and a cooler week ahead from Wednesday.
  17. Have a great day, Val!
  18. Good, thanks. How about you and Steve? Just doing a bit of potting on of seedlings. Heading up to a young friend's in little over an hour. It's his 23rd birthday today, and I have baked a chocolate sponge sandwich cake to bring with me. Something similar to this...
  19. Greetings, young Albert!
  20. Anacondas are one of the largest snakes in the world. Reports of anaconda attacks on humans are rare, but these boas can take down large prey, including jaguars. Anacondas can reach lengths of 17 feet (5 meters). Some specimens may be as long as 36 feet (11 meters), but this is unusual. The anaconda is the heaviest snake in the world. A large individual anaconda might weigh 1,100 pounds (500 kilograms), but will usually top out at a few hundred pounds. Source: https://nationalzoo.si.edu/animals/green-anaconda
  21. Greetings, young Albert! Sorry for the delay. Was meeting friends for a meal in a restaurant. 'Tis great to be returning to some sort of normality.
  22. Hopefully there'll be wifi, but if not we'll look forward to hearing all your stories after you return. Have a great trip anyway, bro!
  23. Happy Friday, everyone! Another warm sunny day here, although there were a few light showers earlier and highest forecast temperature of around 16°C/61°F. The forecast for the weekend is for temps of around 19°C/66°F, and very little (if any) rain expected. I may need to water some of my vegetable seedlings.
