  1. Honestly, I am not.
  2. I'm surprised that the police weren't involved after a 9-1-1 call reporting a gunshot wound. But I'm still thinking about that "I've got something you want" note from Keith, and coming up with possibly crazy theories again. Could it be that Keith, as a creator, made a drawing of Leia, and his enabler brought it into this universe, and that's what was found hanging in the tree? And Keith and his enabler are keeping the real Leia captive, because for some reason they want Leia's baby after it has been born. Maybe that's what Keith has that Brandon wants. His best friend. Leia.
  3. So what is that Keith said in that letter that he has and that Brandon wants?
  4. Crazy thought, maybe... Jordan is aware that there is another creator and enabler nearby... So what is the relationship between the woman who was in Keith's house the last time Brandon got together and Keith himself? Does Brandon maybe need to show Jordan the sketch he made of it? And perhaps show it to Nikki and Dalaja, and maybe even get the Establishment involved...
  5. Keith is a bit of an enigma. And Jordan is obviously confused. But Nikki's explanation of the Kinsey scale may have helped lift some of that confusion.
  6. In spite of Jordan feeling stirrings in his groin when he saw the way Dr Parahini's hair brushing against the back of her neck, I don't think that he is 100% heterosexual. Or perhaps the bond that exists between a creator and an enabler is such that it can transcend such trivial matters...
  7. The last four words of this chapter simply cracked me up.
  8. I wondered when Brandon was going to remember Jordan. Just didn't expect it to be when he was going through the throes of orgasm...

    Chapter 7

I'll be interested to hear Dane's explanation as to just how he ended up alone in that crashed car.

    Chapter 5

Woah! I wasn't expecting that ending to this chapter... 😮 I shall be interested to find out whether this really was an accident. (I suspect the "Have you told him yet?" question from Tap's brother means that Tap is also gay..?)

    Chapter 4

Now why do I suspect one of the other ways may involve arranging for the unexpected death of Dane before he reaches his 18th birthday..?

    Chapter 3

I'm just hoping that Tap, and maybe Neri, will be able to do something to help end Dane's pain.

    Chapter 2

Okay. I take back any excuses I may have tried to suggest for Dane's father's behaviour at the end of the last chapter. Just at the moment I can't find any redeeming feature in him at all.

    Chapter 1

I'm coming late to this, but this first chapter has caught my imagination, so I'll read on to see where it leads. Normally I would post my own comments before reading existing comments, but broke that rule for this chapter, simply because it is the first chapter. I'm interested to note how just about everybody seems to have immediately written Dane's father off. True, his actions in this short first chapter leave a lot to be desired, and perhaps they will prove to be indicative of the way he always treats his son. But at this stage of the story, I am still not yet prepared to pass judgement on him. His wife has just died, after all. There is the possibility that he is not handling that fact as well as he could (in spite of him saying she had been ill for some time and it was expected). Maybe that explains his current behaviour... I suppose there's really only one way for me to find out (to quote, @Headstall )

    Chapter 2

I'm glad to hear the Major's not in any immediate danger and is likely to recover from his bout of hypothermia and pneumonia. Let's just hope that he agrees to the boys' suggestion and goes to live with them; but he does seem like he can be a stubborn bugger when he wants to be. I know we know something about the Major's background and the reason he finished up living on the streets, but I can't help feeling that there may still be more to him than we already know... Enjoying the story, @Mancunian, and looking forward to further chapters.
  16. I have just checked through my notifications, and I did not receive any for the publication of either Chapter 5 or 6 of Milo. I notice that I only made comments on these two chapters last Sunday (1st September), which suggests that I didn't even spot that they were online until then. The last three notifications I received about Milo were: A notification of your status update from August 18th where you announced that you had the next two chapters scheduled for publication, A notification sent at 1:06 pm last Sunday saying "Talo Segura updated chapter 4 in Milo" [I think this is what made me look at the story, and actually notice (and comment on) Chapters 5 and 6]. A notification sent about nine hours ago saying "Talo Segura posted chapter 7 to Milo". I assume number 2 is what @Cia was referring to in the second paragraph of her reply above. But you appear to be correct, @Talo Segura, to be wondering whether readers following the story got notifications regarding the two chapters being uploaded. It certainly appears that I didn't.

    Chapter 9

Indeed you will just have to wait and see, Bard. Indeed you will.

    Chapter 1

A good first chapter, @Mancunian! Nice to see that Kevin and Ian survived their ordeal from the original story, and that they are still involved with The Boot. I like the way they are now referring to The Major as Pop. Also nice to know that Kate and Steve have decided to become foster parents. Hopefully that will turn out well, even if it will mean that Kate may not be able to help out at The Boot as often now. Just like Kate, my mind is also wondering about John and Andy. After all, we never did find out in the original story which team John actually plays for... Eagerly awaiting the next chapter!

    Chapter 9

for taking the time to comment. I'm not too sure about Jock being prepared to throw himself under the King's horse, as you say... Especially considering he told Danny a chapter or two back that "There are more ways in heaven and earth to get one over on the system than simply throwing oneself under the Queen's horses to make a statement." But, considering the way in which he rose to his feet just at the end of this chapter, it looks as though he may be about to do something fairly dramatic. I'm not sure it will be to admit to having had a hand in the sheep shagging incident. But could it be that he knows something about Mr Griffiths that Mr Griffiths himself would not want to be made public? (Or am I just throwing out false spoilers here? )

    Chapter 6

In England at the time this story is set (1960s), the universities insisted that students lived in university approved accommodation when they were in their first year. This was probably a legal responsibility for the universities, as at the time the age of majority was 21. In other words an individual was still legally considered to be a child before reaching that age. The universities (the same as the schools) would legally have been considered to be acting in loco parentis (in the place of the parent). Approved accommodation included the university's Halls of Residences (far too expensive for Danny) and "Digs", which were bed and breakfast type accommodation in private households, where the student was supposedly cared for. The digs had to be approved by the university's Accommodations Office, and were becoming scarce by the time Danny started university, for the simple reason that he was one of the Baby Boom generation (the generation of children born in the few years after the end of WW2, after husbands returned from active service away). Danny can't just look for a new place to stay. If he simply moved out of Mrs Mosley's she would by law have to let the Accommodations Office at the university know, as she is also currently acting in loco parentis. So Danny's stuck where he is for the foreseeable future.

    Chapter 5

Thanks for taking the time to comment, @Bard Simpson Danny is only finishing his first week at university in this chapter, and this was his first night out actually socialising. He's not really met anyone other than the people doing the Integrated Biology course yet (with the exception of Alison, who just happens to have gone to school with Jane, who is also doing the Integrated Biology course). So whether these friends will turn out to be long term friends or not, perhaps remains to be seen. As for Danny's digs, I'm sure that were Danny able to find affordable accommodation closer to the university, he would snap it up. Remember, though, that he is trying to survive on a £10 per week maintenance grant and, as he pointed out near the end of Chapter 3, there is no spare money at home to help him pay his way. And Shefield is a strange place for him; he knows absolutely nobody local.

    Chapter 4

Ah! Now I get you! For a while there I wasn't sure if you were suggesting him as the ideal candidate to help Danny decide which team he really kicks for...

    Chapter 9

Don't worry. I often find myself having to do that as well, @dughlas.

    Chapter 9

Absolutely no problem at all, @Daddydavek! I'm guilty of doing exactly the same myself at times - sometimes even in stories I am writing myself.
