  1. It weren't me, your honour. Honest. It were Trusty Nikon that did it.
  2. Famous last words? Let's just say that the sun didn't last too long. Here's what my Trusty Nikon managed to capture about 2 hours before sunset this evening.... Not a trace of the sun or blue sky to be seen at all.
  3. Good night, Big Bird. Sleep well.
  4. Reply removed. Suggested reason I gave obviously wrong.
  5. Good afternoon, young Albert.
  6. Good afternoon, duggie. Bit of a drier day here, today (for the time being, at least). Temp around 13oC, but fairly strong wind, so the real feel can be a few degrees lower. Sunny, but lots of clouds about. Big "Hi!" to the rest of yous as well.
  7. You might have to talk to Droopy-Drew about that. He claims to be the pi(e) boy, doesn't he?
  8. Pardon? Sorry, you'll have to speak up. I can't hear you over all this hubbub...
  9. Sounds tempting.... Before I make the long journey, could you maybe send me a picture of that pitcher, Page?
  10. I'm not 100% sure.... Maybe I'm thinking of moving to Singapore...? Page, my man! How the divil are ye?
  11. Thanks you, young Albert! And I love your quirky sense of humour, as well.
  12. But they are not real eyes, so they can't see. No more than a needle can see, even though it has an eye; or a runner bean can actually run. 😛 Hey there, Droopy-Drew! It may be that it is not too harmful for the environment now you have it installed in your home. However, I can't help but wonder just what harm may have been done to the environment in its manufacture. All those minerals that had to be mined, refined, and transported from however many far-flung corners of the world... All that fossil fuel that had to be burned in the factory where it was assembled.... All the fossil fuel that needed to be converted to make its plastic parts... But, sure, don't mind me. I just love to play the devil's advocate (or do I mean I just love to piss on other people's parades?)
  13. Okay, I'm back again... I find editing my own work can really mess with my head at times. The constant 'Should I add a comma here?' - 'Is this comma really necessary? - 'Could I use a better word here?' - 'Does this really explain what I want to say?' type of questions often leave my mind completely frazzled at times. I swear I find it easier to edit other people's work than I do my own! So about an hour before dark I decided to just put the editing to one side for the day and head out into the fresh air for a while, even though it was drizzling a little. And a forty five minute or so walk in the woods really did help to clear my head. Of course, I wasn't going to go without my Trusty Nikon, so I had to take it with me. I noticed that, in spite of the fact that there's been hardly any sun this past while, the blackberries are flowering well. Hopefully there will be enough bright sunshine in late July and early August to enable them to form full and tasty fruits eventually. I am rather partial to blackberry pie, after all. And, if there's a good crop, maybe I'll have enough to freeze and/or make blackberry jam with... Anyway, I couldn't resist photographing the blackberry flowers themselves. One nice thing about my Trusty Nikon is that it will take reasonably good photographs even when the light is low, as it was tonight.
  14. Right gang... I'm going to log out of GA for a while, to stop me keep getting distracted by all the notification sounds. I've the second chapter of my The Charmed Life Of Danny Murphy novel just about finished, and am hoping to get it uploaded in the next 24 to 48 hours. But I really need to spend time reading it through, removing any obvious errors, and maybe tidying it up a bit in places. I'll probably be back to annoy yous all in six hours time or so. Be good, now, whilst I'm gone. I don't want to come back and find you've left the place in a mess...
  15. Hey, Gary! Don't be knocking people's imaginary friends! They're a bit like all those voices in my head. If they went away I would be extremely lonely...
  16. And the same to you, Caz
  17. A nice piece of rare to medium done prime steak won't look at me as I eat it, Albert. (That was the long answer to your question. The short answer would be "No".) Although I don't eat a huge amount of animal products.
  18. Enjoy the new abode, Clo!
  19. My favourite beverage is tea, thanks. And do you mind if I bring my own packed lunch? Not really a fan of shrimp (or any food that looks at me as I am eating it)
  20. Hey, Alberto! And thanks. (By the way, could you pick me up in your UFO on the way to Clo's house warming party. Please. Pretty please...
  21. You guys crack me up at times with your weird and wonderful (and twisted?) imaginations! Just where is this naked Irish lad that you can see in the photo, Gary? The interesting thing is that that photograph is number 18 of a series of 52 that I am trying to complete. One new photograph taken every week for 52 weeks. The challenge I have set myself this year (actually from beginning of February 2019 to end of January 2010) is to take only landscapes; and to not include people in any of them. So, if Gary can see a naked Irish lad in photo number 18, I might as well just give up now.
