  1. "Hey, Danny Boy! Penny for your thoughts," exclaimed a familiar voice from in front of me. I lifted my eyes from the ground to see the smiling face of one of my best friends from school, James O'Connor. We'd been in the same form for the whole seven years, and had done almost identical subjects all the way through, even into the sixth form. James, on account of his initials, had acquired the nickname Jock while at school, which he thought was the biggest joke going, since jock is a slang ter

Oops! Another on my part! I better go back and correct it, before anyone else sees how stupid I can be

    Chapter 1

Oops! I hadn't spotted all the story reviews before I clicked on Chapter 1... You're quite right, Gary @droughtquake. They may have got me to read it earlier. (Even if one of them does appear to contain a little spoiler in it.)
  5. I don't think this is helps answer you question in any way, Gary, but when I was a child growing up in the Manchester (UK) area we would often repeat this silly Q & A type thing: Question: Where do fleas go in the winter? Answer: Through Denton to Hyde. Of course, if I told it to any of my neighbours here in the West of Ireland, they just wouldn't understand it. Well not unless I went on to explain that Denton and Hyde are two small towns in the Greater Manchester area. Which would really spoil the whole spontaneity of the thing. (Okay, I'll shut up now.)

    Chapter 1

When I read the Story Description for this piece of work, I almost skipped reading it. I'm not sure why; I think it may have had something to do with me thinking that we get loads of "Bad guy or guys bully the gay boy - gay boy gets revenge" type stories, and a lot of them are either very much the same, or just not written all that well in the first place. But, after a bit of indecision, I decided I'd make an exception and give this one a go. Probably the main reason for that was because it was one of @Geron Kees, and he writes some very good stuff. And happy I am that I did decide to give it a try! A great introductory chapter, an interesting quartet of main protagonists, and some great insights into their lives and struggles. I'm looking forward to reading what devious plan they come up with to thwart and/or get their own back on Brad and his 'bunch of dickeads.'
  7. I'll let TK know you're pleased with his work, dug And I'm a bit scared of trying to find the end of an Irish rainbow... Story over here is that you're more likely to find an evil leprechaun at the end of a rainbow than a fit naked lad.
  8. I think they're both the same guy, duggie Good to see you, anyway
  9. It's now over thirty hours, and still no sign of the chapter being published.... 😟 Just PM'd Cia... Hopefully it'll be online soon.
  10. Oops! My bad.... I didn't scroll all the way up to re-read the poem. I actually thought at first that you'd deleted her line...
  11. I somehow think there's bit of a difference between letting a dragon share your bed and letting a dog...
  12. Love it! But I hope you okayed the change with Cookie, as well.
  13. There's no harm in that. Just ignore anyone who says different!
  14. Yea, I understand what you're saying. It's just that, when I read it, it didn't create a sing-song rhythm in my head - more of a quiet and contemplative feeling. But it's interesting how two people can read exactly the same piece of poetry and get two completely different vibes from it.
  15. You really should have some doggie towels near the door you bring her back in through. That way you could dry her feet for her. Although, maybe that bad shoulder of yours makes it difficult to do those bending and twisting type of jobs...
  16. Oh look! The resident court jester has returned! Greetings, young Drew!
  17. Hey, young Albert!
  18. Nicely done! I think I mentioned once before that border collies are one of the most intelligent breeds of dogs going.....
  19. Love it, Gary! The only possible criticism I could possibly have is that the last line just didn't seem to work...
  20. Hopefully you can get the 'puter back up and running soon enough, Xan...
  21. Thanks, Kitt
  22. I know I've been doing a lot of whinging this past while about the dreary weather here in the West of Ireland. But, even amongst all the dreariness, there can be those moments of absolute magic... So I came down with a dose of cabin fever yesterday and decided that, no matter if it was wet and miserable, I just needed to get out of the house. So I donned my walking boots and rainwear, and headed out for a ramble for a couple of hours. And, no, I didn't forget Trusty Nikon. I was glad to have him with me, as well. Because just for a few short minutes, the sun managed to poke its way through gap in the clouds, and work its magic.... And that made the walk even more worthwhile!
  23. Cool, grey, wet,and miserable day here, as well, but I've stuff to do that prevents me heading back to bed. Enjoy your duvet day
  24. Agus tú féin, a Gary! (And yourself, Gary)
