    A Treasure Lost

He truly did! Harlan is used to things going his way, but he didn't do all his homework this time. He was too distracted and eager to get to know Bailey, and in the process of trying really messed things up. Thanks for the comment. 🙂

    A Torrent

Thanks for the comment. Oh, you're sooo right about Harlan. He finds himself in a position he is utterly unfamiliar with, and he's not sure he likes it. Keep reading. You'll get to see more Harlan stumbling about. 🙂
  3. Awesome. I hope you enjoy it! Thanks for giving it a shot.

    Family

Thank you, Nana Atuwa. That's really the idea - to create characters who feel real. Imperfections, warts, things that aren't exactly admirable ... but still relatable. Even when they screw up you're still rooting for them. I appreciate the nice words. 🙂

    Acceptance

If it's good for you guys then it's right. And that's all that there is. Congratulations on 18 years. 🙂 You're so right though. We all have doubts, fears, and things our lovers have to chase away. Sometimes that's done silently, simply by staying near, being close, and loving us through our stumbles and weak moments. Other times it's overt and loud. Either way, it's real and necessary for us to grow closer. Thanks for reading.

    Next Steps

You know ... for me, when I had finally worked up the courage to say something it was either then or never. Markus was in a similar place. He'd agonized over it, and he just needed to get it out. There was no waiting for a "better" moment, because we can always convince ourselves that moment has never arrived. Markus' experience mirrors mine in a few ways. Luckily I was surrounded by supportive friends. Otherwise, I could have been him. Thanks for the comments. I'm glad you're reading.

    An Arrangement

You're definitely right about a bad situation for Markus. He's hurting, and there doesn't seem to be a way for him to find support. Frankly ... it's dangerous. Thanks for the comment.

    Awakening

Yeah. Tad and his Bear ... The story is really about to take the turn that will remain the overriding theme for the rest of the book. Stick with it. Thanks for reading.

    Time

I do agree with you. And by now, Chris is pretty sure he made the wrong choice. He's not a bad guy ... but he's terrified of what is coming. Of course, so is Tad ...

    Absolution

Well, you know by now. Keep reading though. There's a lot more to come. Thanks for taking the time to pick this one up.
  11. Goodnight, Mike. Best of luck to you as well. I hope they can give you some actionable news, and you can get some relief.
  12. Yeah. I'm thankful it happened when we were awake. Jeez. I don't even want to think about that. I am!
  13. Well ... I'm gonna have that second glass of wine after all. Our water heater gave up in dramatic fashion. Like ... bottom failed, and water gushed out. And it was behind a screwed in panel. So there's me ... desperately trying to unscrew this thing while the sound of water running out of a metal cylinder is hidden where I can't see it behind a freaking piece of plywood. Then there's Kevin. Standing nearby, looking vaguely concerned. Kevin: That doesn't sound good. Wayne: No! No it doesn't! *finally gets last screw undone and pulls off the panel, immediately turns off the water line and the gas* *I squat down to look at the bottom of the leaking heater* Kevin: Do you know what you're doing? Wayne: I know we shouldn't let the house flood! *perhaps just a bit more bite in my tone than I intended* Kevin: *taps foot. Then walks to the kitchen. I hear the wine bottle as he pours another glass* Wayne: *grumbling* Oh, thank god. They might have screwed the heater away where we couldn't reach it, but at least they put in a drain. The water went under the house, not on the floor." *Crisis sorta handled, I walked into the kitchen. Kevin eyes me, and hands over the glass of wine* So ... yeah. I'm gonna drink my wine. And maybe eat that ice-cream too.

    Indifference

Yeah, Nate hurt Kent. He’s not quite ready to laugh about the whole gay thing, and Nate didn’t realize he was so fragile.

    Family

Yep. That's it. We know that Bailey accepts Harlan, even with his work and connections to Family Reina. We know that Harlan wants to be with Bailey. The central struggles in the plot are resolved. Nothing for a writer to do but button it up. I end stories when it's time, and this ending felt good and right to me. Some tales drag on and on, and I can't read/write those. Thanks for the comment!

    Coffee

All shall be revealed! Keep reading. You'll get there. 🙂 And thanks for giving this one a try.

    Just for Fun

Oh, you started this one. I'm very curious to see what you think of the story, Bft. Thanks for giving it a read. And stick with it. You'll find out what is going on with Chris and Tad both.
  18. Mine is back to normal now. Huh.
  19. Huh! I had never noticed that before!
  20. Yep, same here. Ahhhh. There's a new "vote up, vote down" comment thingy on the left.
  21. Holy crap! 110 mph?! Wow. I'm glad you didn't lose anything else, and that you're all right.

No problem. I’m happy you enjoyed it enough to put it on repeat. 🙂 Thanks for taking the time to let me know!

    Wounded

Hello! I hope you’re enjoying the story ... because I’m not quite sure yet. 🙂

    Family

Thanks, James. I updated Storylover with the new ending as well. It just feels better to me, and I wanted to send the guys off right there too. I've yet to update Nifty ... though I should! The next Camp Refuge will address something we've not seen yet, and we will get to catch up with all of our campers - including Rayne and Elias. 🙂
