I think that this lines are key : "So...Luka and Devin," he said, his accent thick, curling around the words like smoke. "I am told you are…how you say...inseparable." Devin grinned, offering a playful shrug. "We try." Luka leaned back slightly in his seat. "I'd say it's more of a survival strategy." Separating them is going to be his goal and challenge I guess. Careless of Luka to let that slip. But really love the build up of this story. The level of threat that lingers. The cat and mouse feeling. ( A bit silence of the lambs , Luka being Clarice and the actual hard nut to crack for Giancarlo) .Of course the hotness of it all.. Ottimo lavoro!. ( Nope i don't speak Italian, let Google do the work😉)

Proserpina, is quite the snake pit , with it's officers, possible traitors and Spanish nobility and the way they expect to be treated aboard. There's a big challenge for George. Hopefully he will succeed in that and with some men 😉

I vividly remember that my grandmother didn't want to read Ali Baba and the 40 thieves to me as a bedtime story, because of the killing of the thieves with boiling oil. She always started with all the titles of the stories and I tried many times. It became a kind of gimmick between us. So I never toughened up 😉

In this I agree, but that doesn't change the fact that I hoped that Will would see reason too and had a good look in the mirror about his attitude. The " I can box my feelings for Austin" reasoning doesn't apply because he said it himself he could fall hard for him without knowing how hard. With completely dismissing Travis feelings about him and Austin and his attitude towards Kendo and Travis, he has axed their relationship. And that still is helas for me.... ( This should have quoted Private Tim's comment, but gone wrong,😁)

Really got my hopes up that things would get better but the last part showed that it is a relationship in decline helas. Love the chapter and thanks Mark for the effort you put into it. Always a smile bringer on my face while reading that there's a new chapter. Have a great weekend!

I do get the feeling that there's real hope for Jeremy to get insights in his own feelings and motivations. That it's not only a posture, but that he really wants to get his relationship with his loved ones to a better level. Surely to a degree that is workable for him. Not too much 😉. Well fingers crossed for the interview thing. It might backfire like Travis said. Great chapter, also the Austin revelation. Thanks Mark!

What a great chapter. There's so much going on and future preparation in it. The hopefully possible marriage of Daventry. The bonding between George and the royal couple. The resurrection of Cardona. And I wonder if the approach and decision making George is implementing on the Proserpina is going to be a sort of blueprint for future Spanish maritime conduct? Much food for thought. Because what was the real reason for the retreat? Was it solely cowardice? Love it! Happy Easter all and thanks Mark.

What a great surprise. Love the way you plunge out with all the details on the journey. How long did it take you only to map out this route?. Gonna have my work cut out googling things like the baths underway. Great that George and Cardona ( Luis ? ) are reunited again. They complement eachother in many ways. That's going to be real pleasant for Ines, that conversation with the Duke of Medacineli present. Those dirty scheming French.

Hot like hell and still insecure and jealous. But I wonder if we witness the first hairline cracks in the Jeremy - Kris relationship.... Hope not. Really good that Will got his dance card double filled. Great chapter, thanks Mark for all these gifts the last couple of weeks, must have taken much of your spare time. But it's really a treat and much appreciated.

Nice calm, wait for it chapter,new hot guy and the possibility of the Italian maffia marching into this story,😉. Maybe a dead horsehead in someone's bed? I love making one big, as thinly as possible, peel swirl in one time, no pauses allowed, to peel the potatoe. It's a personal challenge and creates a deep emotional bond with each potatoe. Everybody has different goals in life......😜
