An intense chapter. Clearly, they all need help, although Ed's is most debilitating. It seems he is unable to get or hold down a job, or even keep his flat clean. PTSD is on the cards I think.

Alex is coming out of his shell and so is Ed, albeit slowly. Alex's wisdom is also starting to become clear.

I remember asking how you would know if you loved someone. This was before I got married. Now 25 years later and a divorce along the way, I could probably ly answer that question.

I'm glad that Ed has faced his "fears" by going to see his sister and telling her about Alex, and what that means. Again, nobody seems to mind.

Poor Ed. It must have been quite awkward watching teens get drunk and feeling ancient. 😅 A big age gap can be managed, but it's not plain sailing.

Ed is falling for Alex. His caring nature is resurfacing. Ed's transformation is happening and that will allow Alex's transformation to take place.
