Another chapter where I should've ate before reading! LOL!!! Sounds like Adam is well on his way to building a proper university and upgrading the school in the process. Wonder if a raise and new contract comes with being President of both! 😂

My, my, my, a Board of Trustees that just dumped money and never required accountability via an Annual Report, quarterly audits, semi-annual inspections ... I think a new Board of Trustees might be in order as well. Shame on them. Adam, as they say, is getting the house back in order and the Board should be very thankful to have someone of his dedication, passions, and talents doing their job. The more we learn about the Ambassador, he'd be a great person to be friends with - just seems like a genuinely good hearted person.

“Ralph, you were the most important person for me today." That shows Adam's true love for what he does and the compassion that comes along with that. My question is who the woman was as the diner - was she related to Ralph some way? Diners usually don't just hand out free cookies since Adam had already paid the bill. lol AND, the doctor ... was that Marie's brother or dad? Wedding bells may be in the near future ... though, I was hoping Marie would take over as the doctor of the school but nepotism wouldn't be the greatest example Adam could set. Wow, great chapter!

Calling all those who are competent, calling all those who are competent, emergency, come right away! lol It sounds like a good housecleaning needs to take place and soon. Glad to here the staff dinning room is being shut down and remodeled ... I'm guessing into the testing center since it's a better location! LOL!!! Adam certainly showed the true character of a leader by contributing to Ole BagPipes going away gift. I'm anticipating that the new doctor will be someone Adam already knows and both Jane and James will be working for Adam after Arlene leaves - as much as he has left to do, he's definitely going to need them both!

One does have to wonder, if I graciously gave someone $1 twice a day would one say thank you, that's so appreciated. or would they say you can give me $2 or more twice a day? I have to scratch my head in astonishment sometimes at the entitlement and ungratefulness being exemplified when it's a FREE gift being given! Thank you so much for sharing your talent for the rest of us to enjoy. Whatever you choose to share is very much appreciated!

Well, Ole Bagpipes ran out of hot air and got herself in a real pickle - trying to fire the man that is now her boss. LOL!!! Adam is too kind to fire her but will try to work with her and win her over. I wouldn't be surprised if she left and, I might say, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out! Of course, I'm no Adam. Karma can be a funny thing sometimes!

Laughing the whole way through the chapter. Either Arlene is an idiot of a Headmaster and doesn't speak with the Finance Director or is just oblivious all together. Can't imagine a school of 60 would just have $1.17M sitting around to dish out in a moments notice. That's called being up shits creek without a paddle. Ole Bagpipes is a dumbass. Can't wait for the next installment to see how far this falls flat on its face and weather the Ambassador has a motion introduced to fire Bagpipes instead for incompetence.

Who exactly makes up the Board of Directors? Usually, in a corporation, the CEO is the only member of the Board that's an employee of the corporation, most everyone else are outside experts paid as a member of the board. Bagpipes may be blowing in the wind if the Ambassador and other members of the Board are made up of parents of like mind. I have a feeling the Ambassador can be very influential when he wants to be. Yes, a person who is afraid becomes very micromanaging and petty. Hmmm, I already hear the bagpipes squeaking a little off key. LOL!!!

Ole Bagpipes was ready to blow walking into the cafeteria until her bags were deflated just by the site of the Ambassador. One has to wonder why she's so against newer ways of learning when many of the teachers are being supportive and the morale of the school has to be improving. That in itself would be hard to miss for anyone! Might be interesting if the Board decides to dismiss Arlene and appoint Adam as Headmaster and Director of Education. Wouldn't that be a blow to Ole Bagpipes! LOL!!!

In such a stuffy and regimented institution, I'd imagine that testing anxiety was off the charts with multiple students. Hopefully Adam can help the young man he made a deal with to retake all his exams in a less stressful environment and quickly move from failing to excelling.

James Butler was definitely a twist I did not see coming. Not only is Adam breaking floors, he's breaking ceilings (glass ceilings) as well. GO ADAM!!!

Definitely the signs of a great leader are connecting with the individuals, hearing their ideas and disgruntles, encouraging open and honest dialogue, and gaining trust before asking for help and cooperation to try something different. I have a feeling Adam is going to have a new secretary and her name will be Jane!

So the school was willing to pay double his current salary BUT, he'd be making that next term at the University anyway? Never heard of a place giving you a double salary merit increase unless you were making mincemeat $1 and they increased it to $2. Definitely not a fan of anyone, institution or not, trying to take advantage of someone as nice as Adam. Kinda like a car dealership, give me your best price the first time or I'm out of here, no second chances. Can't tell you how many dealerships have not taken those words seriously. Shame on them!
