Woah! This really is a tangled web. Trevor needs to be dug up and killed again. I’d worried about the fire shifter and I’m glad Enya is ok. Her impressive ability to detect lies will be invaluable for the upcoming battle. While it’s admirable that Cassiel is staying out of the upcoming battle, it’s also a tad annoying since his family (brother) caused a lot of the chaos. Huntington has gotten complacent with his luck and connections. Hopefully that will be his downfall. CONGRATS on becoming a promising author. We already knew that about you. ☺️

Or, Huntington did himself a favor. He confirmed, with absolute certainty, that Elijah and Tyler are working with the Montana Pack and those rescuing the stolen pups. He learned that the hierarchy of the Montana Pack (and shifter world) came to help Tyler. He didn’t need to keep Kaya. Huntington used Kaya to assert how powerful he is. He told her that he is a Lion Shifter and about Wolf Shifters for a reason. There is a link between the stolen pups and the Veil. I just cannot figure out what it is!

Huntington most definitely has a plan and there is a message in taking/returning Kaya. Now almost everyone is together in Montana. What if he is bringing the war to them? Something tells me when the facility is destroyed it will be the final straw for Huntington. And, I still think he wants the dang laptop. This is stacking up to be an epic battle. Is anyone else excited to hear Nat Chusi is getting involved?! Tyler’s family’s reaction to learning about what is behind the Veil and meeting Ashton and Austin couldn’t have gone better. Lots of special moments in this chapter!

I don’t think it is Caleb, although he might end up being a double agent of sorts, pretending to work for the bad guys but really being on the good side. I believe that Huntington has shifters and others working for him that can easily infiltrate and / or influence others. If he was truly wanting the twins back, he would have figured out where they were and nabbed them back from Corbin. That would have been easy. Taking Kaya is a ‘do not F with me’ message meant for Elijah. Huntington has been intrigued by Elijah since meeting him. While I’m sure Huntington is pissed to find the twins with Elijah and Tyler, there is more to all of this.

Why didn’t Huntington take the twins back when they were with Corbin? He is a mere human and grabbing Ashton and Austin should have been easy. One must assume Huntington somehow didn’t know where they were, and only learned after Austin and Ashton were moved. Someone ‘inside’ must be on Huntington’s side and keeping close tabs on Elijah and Tyler. There is more to all of this. Pieces that even Rosalie and Silas or Sebastian aren’t yet grasping. We still aren’t certain exactly why Elijah’s parents were killed. Elijah, not Tyler, is the thorn in Huntington’s side. But Huntington needs Tyler to get to Elijah. Huntington doesn’t just want the twins back, he wants to stop Elijah and stop the search for the missing pups. Are there other successful transformations like Ashton and Austin? There must be a link between the pups and The Veil.

When it was time to review Jay's Loelife I waited, knowing that a promised epilogue was on the way and this site allows one review per commentor for each story reviewed. I should have realized MrsG had more in store than a mere closing; what comes with this stand-alone book is an ending which certainly is an EPIC-logue. Commentors are gushing for good reason. This work is exceptional; it is well-paced, emotionally satisfying, and leaves the reader knowing our favorite characters, who have become real to so many of us, are truly living their best lives.

Yes! I wondered about this, too. It seems purposeful and worked out well for the ending to this story to leave the specifics of their joint deaths undisclosed. It would almost give them too much power to discuss. But how they died and what exactly happened would be a perfect start to Rob Stone.

... and the great news for all of us readers is that 'next year' is only about 2 months away! Just saying.

I want to echo what @drsawzall so articulately said and agree that your writing truly is remarkably outstanding. Your stories have transitioned into an expert mix of 'just enough' that is hard to accomplish. You aren't over the top with your characters, and the pieces of your stories thread in a seemingly effortless way. This is a perfect place to leave characters that long ago became real to all of us. It may be a tearful goodbye and a hope that we get a chance to visit them again soon, but just like those characters, we are all left in a very good place.

I agree with all commentors who laughed, cried happy tears, smiled, and felt emotionally tugged along during this heart grabbing chapter. There is so much hope for everyone, including the still lost pups, those rescued and for Caleb. From a reader's perspective, this chapter came at a perfect point. We are all anticipating a big 'show down' with the villains and are a bit on edge trying to figure out who they all are and how they are connected to Elijah. This chapter is a much-needed, soothing balm. The twins return HOME is exceptionally written, with just the right number of intimate details. Very well done! Of course, I cannot leave without mentioning Caleb. His wolf is in trouble. Caleb isn't listening to him; it was shocking to learn that Caleb hasn't shifted. That explains his demeanor! Hopefully the tender reminder of Vann, as well as the close contact with his former pack mate, will help nudge Caleb into seeking help and, at a minimum, integrate with the pack he is staying with. Time will tell...

This chapter really tickled me! I giggled out loud when Ritch asked, “ Has she learned how to puke and rally yet?” Then the Grateful Dead / acid (bad) dad joke had me snort laughing. By the time there was an entourage following CJ for his ‘talk’ to the chef, I was smiling so much that I had to give up drinking my morning coffee!

Oh good! Nothing in the chapters for this book said no cure… only your comments after a couple of the chapters pointed towards a cure not being possible. So, I’ll grab ahold of today’s comment and go back to noodling about how a cure might be possible. Yay! And, yes, I know that I’ll guess wrong. But that’s half the fun.

A very hopeful chapter! It makes perfect sense that Austin and Ashton are partly feral after everything they have suffered. I didn't perceive their behavior as feral when they were initially agitated, growled and tried to get to Elijah and Tyler. It seemed reactionary; Giles, who could have been perceived as a threat, was in the enclosure. There was also the attempt at vocalizing the word 'mate'. What if the twins were concerned FOR their mates' safety and were in a protective mode? Austin and Ashton are literally locked in and at the mercy of others. They cannot protect themselves much less their mates. The twins would have to be worried that their human mates could potentially suffer their same fate before Corbin's rescue. That isn't to say that the twins' behaviors are normal. They need help. It will be good for the twins to be around a pack and other shifters; they will have the best chance at a return to whatever their new normal will be. And that is the other big question; if there really is no cure, can there be a way for Austin and Ashton, as well as all the rescued but changed pups, to shift between their changed form to a human form? I was so stuck on a cure (even though we have been warned that there isn't one) that it didn't occur to me until I read the last part of this chapter with the conversation between Ben, Tyler and Elijah that maybe shifting between forms should be the research goal. Trevor is dead. While I cannot say I am sorry he suffered, I do wish we knew more about the organization he worked for before he died. Good riddance. One less villain to have to worry about.

This chapter feels like an early Christmas present to all of us! It’s hard to pick a favorite part (frozen snot and spilled powdered cocoa rank right up there) but certainly the Christmas visit with Julie and Mike is the most poignant. Their total acceptance and what felt like Loren’s final step towards releasing his past really got me tearful. Every single part of this chapter felt real. That saying about the devil is in the details is true. There wasn’t a single, small part missed. All of the emotions, every interaction and reaction, the descriptive surroundings, the kiddos’ behaviors, and all of the wonderful chaos that accompanies any family / friend celebration or life event is there. What a wonderful life for Jay and Loren!

I agree that Caleb has the potential to do something heroic as an almost suicidal redemption but have complete faith he’ll get his own story arch and live to find his mate/happiness. I’m kinda thinking we will be left with a bit of a cliffie about his fate in this book, though. Caleb is reacting as if he is literally dying from the inside out. That worries me. @kboispromised in an earlier chapter’s comment that Kage’s story wasn’t done for this book, so I’ll hold out hope that both Kage and Caleb are somehow intertwined in whoever/whatever is going on.

After reading the last chapter I went back to re-read the story and tried to do the same with comments (quickly gave up.) Then I looked back to Spirit Wolves and attempted to piece a few things together. Not sure I made much progress, but all of the re-reading made me think about Maven, so I wasn't surprised to see them pop up in today's chapter. While Maven may be dead/defeated, that doesn't account for any Fae descendants (I am looking at you, Trevor....) who might also be trying to impact knowledge of the Veil/wreak havoc on humankind. The King created the Guardians from a league of Elemental Shifters. Chapter 12 discusses Elemental Shifters, and we meet Trevor, who just happens to be torturing... a fire Elemental Shifter. Since we now know Trevor is part of the dark side, it stands to reason that perhaps that unfortunate fire shifter might have been on the good guys side. Kage was/is a Shadow Shifter, so not Elemental, but perhaps a descendant of a Guardian. The story name suggests his importance (and it was hard as hell to re-read his death.) Based on the twins eyes, they seem related somehow to the Sentinels. I think the Sentinels and the Guardians are both needed again. Where is Huntington? How are the missing pups related to all of this? Can someone please call Rosalie and Silas? We need answers! Caleb. Oh, Caleb. While certainly depressed, it seems more than that. A part of him seems to be dying without his actual pack. While he is being physically taken care of, his mental state is declining which impacts everything. He has to forgive himself first. He needs a mission, and he needs to be needed.

Um, noooooooooo.

I’m more the show up with cookies and win over your hearts and minds kinda person. But leather boots and whips might work, too.

Just amazingly hopeful that Caleb will be redeemed, find true love (even though it is not Tyler) and have his own full length story. I hate that he’s suffering.
