As the fourth installment in this series, The Alliance is reminiscent of a typical world being invaded by aliens. However, we see plenty of alien species from the series, as well as a few easter eggs from the previous books.
Overall, it is my recommendation to continue this series, as it is brilliantly written and the characters are beloved.
GACK! I'm stuck in a hotel room and all I have is Oreo's and bottles of wine, lest I adventure to the nextdoor Waffle House.
This story is worth the future heart problems.
I'm nervous to what our heroes will find on Astara. Many variables are in play; the current ruler, how much time has passed, do the leaders think Aaron is dead or worse... a traitor. I think introducing his people to the Alliance will be much much more difficult now.
The delay may be a blessing in disguise. Maybe the General has consulted some colleagues and decided to be more confrontational with the Empire.
And... this gives Aaron and Matteio some time for each other. What problem could Aaron be hinting at? Is it the werewolf genes?
This line brought one of my favorite comedy bits to mind. Anthony Jeselnik does an amazing bit about people saying "my thoughts and prayers" on social media during tragedies. Very NSFW, but totally worth the watch.
Like Aaron, I completely understand the Alliance's decision and intention. However, surely the General could have supplied more than just weapons under the veil of secrecy. A small team would've been greatly appreciated, perhaps some sort of advanced surveillance on how Astarans are fairing at the moment under the Empire's hold.
AAAAAHHHHH!!!! Mateio said yes!
I'm thinking the med pod isn't at fault with Itumak's genetic changes. Me thinks mating a Daknar, or mating in general, is the reason. My I'm Callin' It ballcap says so...
Aaron... Mateio... will you two grow up already! At least release some "personal" tensions in your respective cabins.
My thoughts exactly.
Wonderful. Simply wonderful. Rodney and Bill are back to normal. On top of that, Marcus declares his choice in mate.
Grumpy. My dear, Grumpy... If you ever scare me by striking my Siku with lightning again, I'll scream!
