    The reconnection between Cy and his parents was one of my favorite pieces to write. The whereabouts of some of my characters' parents often whizz by my head. I keep meaning to introduce them, but I tend to forget and let their family matters sit in the dark. Cy's seemed very important to bring to light.

    It wasn't a real life experience, but I did extensive research on homemade ice cream and which was some of the best in the United States. Clumpies is definitely on my list to visit at some point.
