You should be very PROUD!!! I am proud of you!! I am also deeply thankful, grateful, and many other "fuls" to you and Noah. You know my story (or at least part of it). It's been a long almost 2 years of solitude for me and you have both helped me so much!!! It is funny how a "little" werewolf story and the author, and a "little" journal and its authors have helped ease the isolation, brought me out of the shadows... 50,000 views...I wonder how many are mine...🤣

I think you could smoke that record!!! Don't you just love "little old Ladies" who come to your defense!? I could go either way...get me out as fast as possible and forget the chit chat or go slower and talk like you are my best friend! I'm happy either way... I am not hard to please at all. I try to find the "good" in most situations unless I am in a foul mood, have not had my coffee quota, have had decaf coffee, spilt my coffee, forgot my coffee on the roof of my vehicle and it's somewhere splattered on the pavement... See how my life revolves around coffee!! Hahaha

I am with you on the recliner!!! I was addicted to mine! I had it for about 15 years and then I got THE dog! He was a perfect angel until he was big enough to chew...everything. The first victim was the recliner. Yes I was mad..no I still have the dog.. He finally quit chewing but he still gets angry when I leave so I leave a box out for him to destroy. (He is 10 now and still likes to destroy!) But I do feel you...I have a spot on my sofa/couch whatever you want to call it. It is mine and mine alone (unless said dog is in my spot)....Hahahaha I seriously need to be cleaning house but someone told me about this blog and now I am going to have to read and comment.... It's a tough retired life but someone's got to comment and post on everything! Might as well be me!!! Much

Senior Thursday before the 4th of July...Wow!!!!!!! I think I would have lost my mind!!!! And for someone to ask "what's going on?"...ummmmmm DUH it's the 4th of July? Sad thing is that customer could easily have been my Dad. LOL He has never, ever remembered holidays... For as long as I can remember, we would have to remind him that holidays were coming up. Constantly remind him!!! Still do! Hahahaha He still get's mad if he "needs" something and the stores are closed for the holiday. He just thinks it should be open...all the time...mainly for him! Hahahaha But in his defense, he did grow up poor... When he started working, he would work everyday, especially holidays. Holidays were just regular days for him. Even at 84, he still works, not as much, but he still has that work ethic. Side note...32 items per minute...I would love to see you scanning!

A discount for waiting!!!???? Who the hell does she think she is the Queen??? I don't know who you do it. At my age, my patience for stupidity, ignorance, uppity idiots, and just plain old dumbness is long gone😠. I know I am not that old but like I said before, I have dealt with the "public" in one form or the other since I was 16. That is more than enough time to have zero tolerance for idiots who in my opinion are bullies. They try to bully 💪their way into a discount! I wonder when she goes out to eat and has to "wait to be seated", does she as for a discount? As you guys know, I live out in the country🐄🐖🐔. The nearest town has a population of approximately 30,000 people. I have waited 35 to 45 minutes at a restaurant to be seated. I never ever thought about asking for a discount for waiting. I wonder does she ask for a discount at the doctors office? You never (rarely) see a doctor at the appointed time... And really, at so close to closing time.... I hate going into a store close to closing. I know how it is to have that last customer just wondering around....picking up stuff and putting it in the wrong place...not buying a damn thing!!! LOL If I have to be in a store close to closing, I do rush in and get what I need and get out. I know the staff wants to get off and get out of there as quickly as possible.. You guys have my respect!!! Plus I love this little journal...I always get a laugh out of it...and a good rant!!!! You have to find the humor in life... And I guess without out the Karens of the world, life would be a little boring..🤣 Using my emoji affinity!!!

Chapter 32: Confounding Confrontation

Whatever you do...I am in it for the long haul!! I just love it!!! It keeps me occupied...especially the days that I don't feel my best! I get to retreat into the amazing realm that Love in the Shadows has become! -
Chapter 32: Confounding Confrontation
Patch1 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 32: Confounding Confrontation
Again and again your gift keeps growing.... This was such a good, easy going, good feeling chapter. I love the developments between Cy and Kap...such a sweet budding romance. The interactions between Mason and Vincent are just nothing but pure love (perhaps based on you guys). You can feel the love in everything they do. You make the most mundane, everyday activities so exciting. I love how you integrate the "humans" in the story too. I loved how you had Vincent "sniff" out the 2 wolves and the human...👃 Introducing yet another "power" the wolves posses. Having Neil come up with another "way" to use the shadow affinity was brilliant! This chapter was so peaceful...so relaxing! I love how the last chapter was action packed and filled with power and tense moments, then this chapter just flowed so easily from that. It's like the adrenaline rush was over and now we are back to "real" life and the slow pace of country life! The whole chapter was like a peaceful flowing river and then you hit the rapids as Vincent comes down from the silo to face the monk! Ending it with a bit of mystery by having the monk appear...nice little mini cliffhanger!!!! Another stunning addition to one hell of a great story!!!! Keep on shining my friend!!!! 💎💎💎 -

Can Our Vast Illness Die?...Nineteen
Patch1 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Can Our Vast Illness Die?...Nineteen
I was hesitant about posting it because I got carried away..but I am glad I did LOL Speaking of field mice, how did you know the cold weather was causing them to visit me????? I love living in the country but this is one issue I hate. No matter how sealed up your home is, they find a way inside!!!! 🐁🐭 I know they are cold but damn, couldn't they find another place to visit? 🤣 Sorry I had to use an emoji or 2!!!! Hahaha Have a great day guys!!! -
Can Our Vast Illness Die?...Nineteen
Patch1 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Can Our Vast Illness Die?...Nineteen
Well hell, you know I am gonna comment!! Hahahaha!!!! First I want to say that I completely agree with you! I don't like the masks but I wear them...my 84 year old Dad hates them but he wears them....my sister hates them but is now using them as a fashion accessory.....my friends hate them but they use them. Point is we all hate them but for our health and the health of our friends and family, we wear them! Do I want a complete lockdown....hell no....but do I think it will get us on the road to "freedom" again.....YES. It is currently uncontrolled and running rampant... I, like you, know several people who have had it...some more severe than others. One friend has been in the hospital since November in a medically induced coma. Last week they brought him out and he is doing good. He is still in ICU but is finally alert and blinking (for communication). Yes he has tubes, wires, and hoses everywhere but he is finally making progress. He just turned 50 and had no health concerns at all. He was very healthy, so it can hit anyone...hard!!! Now for my rant...it's for the people who gripe about staying home and being alone. I may piss some people off but I really don't care LOL. In 2019 I "acquired" a very rare disease. I literally went through hell for a few months before it was all figured out (add to that, my Mother passed away unexpectedly). I was hospitalized and put on extremely high doses of steroids and other medications. When I was finally released from the hospital, I was told I was to self isolate until it was deemed that I could be taken off of the medications. The combinations of meds destroyed my immune system. I was finally cleared of the self isolation in December of 2019. I could be around people but limited contact. I was cleared to start physical therapy also. (I was bed bound for 4 months) I was a very social person before this all happened. My job required it and I loved it...as you can tell I can go on and on and on...... To say the isolation was hell is an understatement. I went from seeing and talking to hundreds of people a day to seeing and talking to 2 (my sister and my Dad). Social media, texting, and talking on the phone was all I had. I learned real quick who my real friends were. I had a huge circle of friends and "work" friends. Now that circle is very small. It made me realize what a real friend is... My point is that I have been in isolation for almost 2 years now. My own illness and then 19 have forced me to learn new ways to cope. I now cherish my alone time as well as my time with my CLOSE friends and family members. We wear masks. We distance ourselves. We continue to push forward and thrive. Everything about this virus is a learning experience. As you pointed out, HISTORY is our guide, our teacher. We know how to beat the virus or at least slow it down. Is it going to be easy? Hell no. It is going to be hard. But anything worth having is worth fighting for and I for one am going to fight like hell for this life. I am a hugger and I am so ready to hug again...2 years is enough...so quit griping about a few months of isolation. Think of all our elderly who have not seen family members for years!!!! Not months but years!!!! Our veterans and homeless people who really have no one...... People who have extreme social anxiety or other medical issues that prevent them from being around people..... There are so many people who have been isolated for so much longer than a few months. They have been isolated for years!!!! Do we hear their voice? their cries for help? Nope but we hear those who whine about having to be "isolated" for a month or two...They are very loud..They have a voice. So many people do not have that voice and no one hears their silent cries for help... So yep, my soapbox for the day...ignorance and those who are "damaged" because of a month or two of isolation... Wear a mask, sanitize, and distance yourself... If you don't think it works, check your history!!!! Hell do your own research and see what country is actually beating the virus! Only 60 cases since December 25. Anyway, I'll be here, following protocols, listening to my doctor's recommendations, making myself aware of changes...enjoying my little isolated, masked, sanitized life! And of course I will be WAITING for your next installment and your next chapter!!!!! Waiting, waiting, waiting...... See you have created a monster!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA Love you guys!!! Keep on staying safe!!!!! -
Where's the Manager? I am the Manager!
Patch1 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Where's the Manager? I am the Manager!
It never ceases to amaze me how people act in public. You are definitely to be commended for your skills... I know it's not the correct way to proceed but when she cussed the first time, my mouth would have gotten me into to trouble. Then not "watching" her kids as they play in the store...damn! That is a pet peeve of mine. My parents would never let me "play" in a store. I can tell you with certainty that I did that one time and my Mother calmly took me out of the store and we went home. Yes, she spanked me when we got home but she also told me how embarrassed she was and how ashamed she was of my behavior. I never, ever pulled the skirt off of the mannequin again!! 🤣 Of course, today people would be all fired up that I was spanked but I never did it again and I was always well behaved in public places. Anyway, I applaud your control! I sure as hell don't have it but I am old (52) and my patience for stupidity is gone!!! Hahahaha.... I just love this journal you guys are doing! It is funny and so entertaining but it is also a great way for you guys to vent! Everything you and Aaron do is so fresh and fun as hell!!! Love it!!!! Have a great Thursday guys!!! Virtual hugs all around!!!! -
An epic opening fight sequence, a mysterious mark, a being of pure instincts, a new hybrid able to use magic....what a Turning Day!!! I feel like I've been on the old Freefall ride at Six Flags!!! Only instead of a brief ride, I stayed on and rode it over and over!!! What a chapter!!!! LOVE it!!!!! The fight itself was enough but adding a mysterious mark and the other stuff was not just a home run...it was a Grand Slam!! Your imagination knows no bounds! So much packed into a chapter....WOW! All that and a budding romance between Cyrus and "my" Kaplan! I am absolutely in love with them... The gentleness of Cyrus when interacting with Kaplan is so sweet and special. And then there is Dave...I'm beginning to love him more and more.. His character adds so much. He is just so genuine and real with a hint of mischievousness! You are just freaking amazing!!!!!!! Another great installment my friend!!! You are the 🤴👑!!!!!

Your Breakfast is My Dinner
Patch1 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Your Breakfast is My Dinner
Enlightening for sure!!! I never realized what the "night shift" went through. We totally live in a "9 to 5" world. Everything caters to typical worker. The sleep schedule I get. I have had enough friends and family members who work/worked the time slot that you do. I just didn't think about it beyond the sleep part. Eye opener! It has always been funny to me that people label/stereotype the night workers as the misfits, druggies, felons, basically the people at the bottom of society. They never think that if we didn't have people like you who "do the night shift", we would not have anything. You keep everything running. I am sure you do see some scary people during your work hours but I would hazard a guess that those people are the ones who would stop and help you if they found you on the road, broken down. Some of them are the types of people that would give you the shirt off their back if you needed it. It's ironic that a lot of people see the night as a time of "bad things" happening. Hell if you get down to it, the bad stuff happens during the day, the truly bad stuff. I know I am all over the place with this but one of the kindest, gentlest, most genuine man I have ever met was loaded with tats, had a long beard, and looked like your stereotypical badass. Everyone thought he was a dealer/felon because of his looks. He was actually just extremely smart with his money. But he was judged by his looks. Society says you have to look a certain way, drive certain vehicles, live in a perfect house or you are nothing. To be so "advanced", we are so lacking in our social attitude. Sorry I was soap boxing it LOL I do love your entries (even that private school kid LOL) Seriously though, you guys are great! I look forward to both your entries. You make this retired guy think! Not sure I want to think but you make me hahahahahahaha! Have a great day and thanks again!!!!! P.S. I take full credit for errors...I can't find my glasses!!!! -
Chapter 30: Barriers Broken

Well my friend you are going to be writing for a long, long time!!! I truly mean it when I say that I absolutely love your style...Your imagination knows no bounds!!! Thank you also for your kind words... I wish I could say more but sometimes (ok most of the time) you and your writing leave me speechless and I really have to take a moment and sit back and think!!! I'm retired...I am not supposed to think!!!! Hahahahahahaha Love you guys and your writing!!!!! Always, Patch 💎👑 -
Chapter 30: Barriers Broken
Patch1 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 30: Barriers Broken
Well I wasn't expecting that!!!! Another great chapter!!! I am completely wowed by the ending! I am still loving the perspective of everything through the wolf's eyes. It is so fresh and new. I can't get enough! And now a third conscious in there and it's not happy! I just can't get enough of this story. I have always been a fan of the written word. I get more from reading than watching a movie/tv any day. It started with comics and moved on to novels. Honestly, I like the style and the flow of your writing more than that of my favorite authors. It is just such an "easy" read. It takes nothing for me to be in their world. Literally from the first words, I am there and everything around me turns to gray. That's how quick and how deep I am into this story! You really do have a talent! With your talent, the sky is not the limit!!! You really have a gift my friend. I've said it before...thanks for sharing!!! I have to admit I have a little "bear" crush on Cyrus too..but there is something about Dave, the "bad" boy Beta.. The smoking (well past tense) and the slight attitude... I've always been one for the "rebel"...HOT!!!! LOL Again thank you for sharing and damn what a great story!!!!!!!!- 25 comments

Noah! You're Needed on the Front End!
Patch1 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Noah! You're Needed on the Front End!
Yep...Love it! In my own way, I am like you... Honest, maybe to a fault. I might be that customer that brought the shirt to you...I would ask if the price was what was on the shirt or was it misplaced.. And after you told me it was on the wrong rack, I would thank you and get the shirt because I wouldn't have "bothered" you with making sure the price was right if I didn't want the shirt. I am the type person if I want it (and not too expensive), I am going to get it. I could honestly care less that it was on the wrong rack. After thinking about it, I probably wouldn't have even bothered you until I checked out. And then I would have just told you it was on the wrong rack so you would know...maybe a wild child just hung it up there, maybe a lazy customer just put it back there, or maybe it was hung there by an associate by mistake...doesn't matter... I want it ...I am going to get it LOL As I told Aaron, I worked in retail and it never ceases to amaze me at the ignorance of most consumers. Many years ago, when I worked in retail, I worked for minimum wage and most of the "consumers" were definitely richer than I was..(but hell I was only 19). They treated me like I was there only for their convenience . I was their personal "get it" boy. I vowed then that I would never treat retail workers the way I was treated. That extends to all that work with the public. I would like to think that we have come a long way as a society in that we respect those working in retail. It is not for everyone. My sister could never do it. She would be in jail for bitch slapping someone or in an anger management program for cussing them out. hahahahahaha... I am serious in that. She is not one for the "public". Give her numbers and equations any day LOL Anyways, sorry to ramble...I just took my morning meds (a little late) and I tend to ramble on and on and on...... I love what you guys are doing! As Aaron will tell you (hell you probably already know lol) I get a lot "wordy nerdy"!!! Oh yeah, Happy Birthday bud!!!! -
Well, Howdy! Aaron's Introduction
Patch1 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Well, Howdy! Aaron's Introduction
I absolutely love this!! The sad thing is that when I worked in retail many, many, many years ago, the same thing would happen!!!! And yes the same stupid questions about Christmas and are you open would get asked...I, however, was a bit of an ass...I told the lady that we sure were open and the doors would be unlocked at 9... Imagine my surprise when there was a note on the door the day after Christmas "kvetching" about how she was told we would be open on Christmas Day and she was here but the store was closed! She was pissed....but what idiot expects a Christmas store/pool store to be opened???? I don't miss the public interaction at all... The sad thing is my chosen profession (not retail) put me in direct contact with a group of people that was far worse, far more ignorant than those I encountered in retail!!! I'll let you use your imagination on that one! 😆 And for almost 25 years, I suffered through...I think my jaws have permanent damage for having to keep my mouth shut because of "professional ethics"! The things we do or rather don't do (say) for our jobs!!!! I can't wait to read the next installment!!!! Tell the hubby I will raise a glass for him on his birthday!! It might not be gin but it could possibly be Fireball or Jagermeister...or beer...who knows, it might be all 3!!! 🤣 -
Chapter 29: Holding Hands
Patch1 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 29: Holding Hands
Such a fun chapter!!!! I am not much of a hunter but the hunt brought back some great memories of when my cousins and I would run through the woods behind my parents house, building forts out of old lumber, climbing trees.... The memories of my childhood dog doing exactly what Vincent's wolf was doing brought tears to my eyes... Such great times!!!! Love the interaction and bonds being formed by the "global" collection of shifters! Everyone getting along and relying on each other, needing each other! It's importance is not lost during our own trying times...we all need each other. Just as Vincent's gifts are growing, so are yours my friend... Every chapter in some way surpasses the previous ones. An amazing gift!!! You are definitely the gift that keeps on giving. Every chapter is like a new present waiting to be unwrapped! And I am thoroughly enjoying the unwrapping of this gift!!! Oh to be 28 again....LOL Wishing your hubby the happiest of birthdays! Wishing the both of you a Happy New Years...full of love, fun, health, and peace....oh and lots of money...Hahahaha But seriously, I wish you guys the best!!!!! -
Chapter 28: Troublesome Turning
Patch1 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 28: Troublesome Turning
My friend...again your chapter, your words, are flawless. Epic descriptions of the change and the pain that comes with it. The bringing together of so many kinds of shifters for an event is spot on! Strong community ties...everyone supporting each other...there for each other. Your writing is so profound.. You are really telling several different stories at once. Kaplan, Cyrus, Tierney, Dave, Caleb...all their stories being intricately told in Vincent and Mason's. (maybe not the full story, but enough to be the catalyst for many other books!) As great as your story is, it's your thoughts at the end that brought the most intense feelings for me. Enjoying time with family and friends is so important. It has definitely been a year of struggles but we still fight and push forward. That's just what we do! Thank you so much for writing...for providing an escape from our own troubles. I wish for you a perfect Christmas and continued prosperity in the New Year! Nothing but love for you my friend...Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!! -

Chapter 27: Shifter Surfacing
Patch1 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 27: Shifter Surfacing
Another great chapter! Each chapter builds on and surpasses the previous one! I don't know how you can write so fast and keep up the quality that you do but I am glad you can! I know I couldn't. I loved the look into Caleb's family...absolutely love Lowe!!! I can just see him running around the "Alpa's" legs.. And "Vinsy"...too cute! I was also not expecting the NY group to be there and with Cyrus. That meeting was great. You can feel the "gentle" power of the panda Alpha... His conversation with Vincent is perfect. They both are such gentle guys with immense power...power that you don't want to mess with. Again I just love this group... I just don't know how you do it! I am glad you do! For me reading has always provided an escape. I get to live in a fantasy if only for a little while. It's like taking a break from the craziness that is going on around us. I always feel better after reading your latest chapter...even if I go back and read the 2 or 3 chapters before it so I can keep it all straight in my head (hahaha). You, my friend, are an amazingly, talented author! I am thoroughly enjoying this story!!! Simply the best!!! 👑 Keep on shining my friend!!💎 -
Chapter 26: Godly Guidance
Patch1 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 26: Godly Guidance
I know, I know...I am behind...Family commitments have prevented me from enjoying my most favorite story.....Again you have done it my friend, brilliant chapter. I don't think you can write a bad chapter even if you tried. Loved the conversation with Bol and the reactions of all involved. But as you know, Kaplan and his past have my heart. I have a lot of tears streaming down my face at the moment. You touched on some very deep emotions. Heartfelt and tender responses and acceptance always get me...Makes my heart smile... It also hits very close to home... You are a master my friend. I am truly humbled by your talent. I have no more adjectives to describe this chapter and the feelings it brought to the surface. Personally, I needed this chapter. Love, love, love it!!!! Thank you so very much! Now off to read the next chapter, since I finally have the time to sit and enjoy it before the next round of Christmas gatherings begin...Wishing you all the best on this Christmas Eve eve... -
Chapter 25: Celestial Circumstances
Patch1 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 25: Celestial Circumstances
Holy 💩!!! Another amazing chapter that surpasses the previous one! I am beyond impressed again!!! First, I absolutely love the core characters but Kaplan, well he is tugging at my heart...... Second, that Panda is freaking awesome!!! Third, Stefan is still a world class ass! The shadow confrontation was very interesting...another first in my book! Fourth, the emotions again.....Mason and Vincent's little fight and the ensuing make up! Finally, the appearance of the God of Order...damn this was a jam packed chapter... The suspense is present throughout this chapter. And with a BIG cliffhanger too.... I can't wait to read this chapter again to see what all I missed!!! You are still the 👑! Don't get too close to the 🌞 while you are flying around up there!!! Seriously, another great piece of work!!! You have a talent like no other!! Thank you so much for sharing it with us!!!! Oh and happy hump day!!! 😍👏💎🥰🏆- 22 comments

Chapter 24: Pitiless Panda
Patch1 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 24: Pitiless Panda
🏆 We may need to get you a space ship my friend! I freaking love this story!!! I love being able to "feel" the emotions in the meeting of the minds. Mason's anger is palpable 😠 ... felt the rage! Felt a little mischievousness in Vincent's sly smile...the little mage is up to something with his meeting with the ass! I can't wait!!!! Love the focus on Kaplan. I feel a "closeness" with him and what he has went through. His pain, fear can be felt throughout his meeting with Cyrus! I can't wait to read his story! And Cyrus...there is something about that panda!?! There is so much more to him than meets the eye! Simply love how this chapter starts with the core group and just shifts to Kaplan and the New York group without missing a beat... effortless transitions! I have said it before my friend...You are the King! 👑 I bow to your greatness.... 💎💎- 25 comments
