It, Bohemian Rhapsody stayed at #2 behind Fernando for some time (for 10 weeks if I remember correctly), such that it was the 2nd biggest hit of the year behind Fernando. Interestingly (to me any way), Fernando sold 720,000 copies to Bohemian Rhapsody's 320,000 copies (it sold another 240,000 copies when it was a hit again in 1992). Dancing Queen which was #3 for the year sold 300,000 copies. The "moral of the story", Fernando blitzed everything else. I am ashamed to admit I did not care much for Fernando as a teenager, much preferring Mamma Mia, SOS, Dancing Queen, Money Money Money and the greatest of them all Knowing Me, Knowing You. I was as naive as you @weinerdog. I too thought after the talk with the pastor and noting the distress of his wife, Stephen's attitude was changing, softening a little, albeit very slowly. But no, his treatment of Matt demonstrates he is still the c u next Tuesday he has been ever since exiling Kitt from the family home, in fact, has likely been all his adult life, at least. I think what has changed is he now feels nothing but pity for himself, that he has been victimised by the pastor and his wife for maintaining the make believe of the old testament. He is indignant his beliefs have been challenged. He will one day die a lonely and embittered man, hopefully sooner rather than later, but he will have stuck to his moral high ground and will carry this proudly to his grave. Tom's caution over giving Matt any information about Kitt's whereabouts was understandable. I am pleased he indicated to Kitt that Matt has clearly not given up on him and is in a state of great agitation not knowing where Kitt is. It may be left to Harbor to reunite the boys as that dog has more sense than any of Kitt's adult friends.

50 years ago Fernando reached its zenith and spent the first of 14 glorious weeks at #1 on the Aussie pop charts. I am sure you remember it well @Mark Ponyboy Peters. Let us hope the spirit of Fernando accompanies Jamal, Deven, Whip, Ansel, Enoch, Marin and the rest of the group as they head for Highshaw. And speaking of Marin, she has been somewhat a Debbie Downer ever since she made her first appearance, but in this chapter it was constant. Jamal was troubled again by having to kill someone; another situation in which he found himself having to kill or be killed. Deven and Whip appear to be his salve once again, soothing him with words and acts of kindness, including those which occur "offscreen" no doubt.

I like the way Sam thinks, and if this does not happen, which I daresay it won't, I like the way @drsawzall thinks: Bubba's son, Bubba Jr, is in juvie. He may not be quite as big as Bubba yet, but his "credentials" are still way above average for his age. Big, big hands (and fists) and a very large weapon of arse destruction. After Bubba Jr has finished with him Willie won't need to douche ever again. A well written but horrifying chapter @Lee Wilson, moreso because the events it depicted are wholly believable. I must ask if you speak and/or write Italian fluently as I seem to recall you mentioning in one of your comments once you are of Italian or part-Italian descent. I cannot speak or understand it, but like the food of Italy (my favourite cuisine), the language is delightful, at least to my untrained ear. I also love Italo disco e.g. Black Box, Change, Sabrina to name but a few.

The murder of Professor Healy and now Susan Urban is only indirectly related to the artefact thefts which have been carried out by the man from the antique store at the behest of Virgil McClain. Said man had bribed Professor Healy to gain access to the dig site after hours because he caught Professor Healy shtupping Bridget Foxwell in the University carpark one evening and was blackmailing him. Professor Healy may have had the people skills of Norman Bates, but he had a tongue like Gene Simmons and he knew how to use it, and did so prolifically.

Was that you who did the "dance duet showoff" with Betty Sue at the end of the video clip @weinerdog? If it was, I think Bobby Ray was looking at you with lust in his eyes, wanting to do the Pennsylvania Poke-You, rather than the Pennsylvania Polka, with you when he saw you bust a move on the dance floor.

Someone at work told me about this yesterday, but I do not understand what a pre-game show is. I watched an AFL grand final once. I did not understand the game, but who the fuck cares. It was live porn, with some of the hottest guys ever starring.

Profoundly sad, moving, funny and ebullient, much like life in general. Another exploration of the life of Parker and Brody, two military men looking for something which they have never found until now with each other, but will it last. With an array of amusing secondary characters, especially Mack and Mills, this story kept me on the edge of my seat to the very end. Brilliantly written by @Cap, with some of the most sensual and sizzling sex scenes I have ever read.

Let me guess. Epponnee-Rae is going to visit the school and sing my favourite song of hers. Charlie and Brayden will "accidentally" out themselves when they scream with delight when they see Epponnee-Rae, because everyone knows her biggest fans are gay boys, apart from a certain pony whose gay membership is up for renewal and may not get renewed if he does not change his musical tastes. Having a collection of Barbies with an outfit for each occasion and season is not enough, it won't cut the mustard.

Me too @drsawzall. What pleasantly surprised me was the use of "military language" to describe normal everyday situations and events, and that I understood its intent. Very clever wordplay @Capand very amusing. The sex was very "stimulating" much like the "heavy duty" coffee Brody and Parker consumed with regularity. I hope for the sake of their hearts and their kidneys they did at times consume "salt reduced" semen. The addition of the puppy to the family was a wonderful treat for me. Although I am a cat devotee, I do like dogs as well, and the addition of any non-human animal to a family is one I find very appealing. And although the sex was raunchy and sizzling, at the heart of all their encounters was sensuality, the sensuality of touching each other, the sensuality of skin, scent and heat. This song, by a duo whom I personally adored, often dismissed as passe, is one I always loved. Very sensual lyrics sung by a very sensual voice. And I cannot believe she is 86 years of age this year. A truly superb story @Cap.

A very astute remark @centexhairysub. Charlie may end up getting the part (which clearly he does) by default, if all other interested boys are straight and uncomfortable with kissing another boy.

I was somewhat surprised Brayden is not as confident with his sexuality as he initially appeared to be, or at least is not as comfortable with the prospect of others finding out. I guess it is hardly surprising though as he is only 13 years old of age and in his first year of high school in Year 7. Nan is very considerate of her "boys" and has had such a positive impact in Charlie's home life. She has filled the role of surrogate mother very well, so much so that Charlie appears to be handling the absence of his mother far better than one could have predicted or hoped for in the first chapter. If Miss Carlton suspects Charlie and Brayden are gay, then I imagine many of the other teachers do too. Miss Carlton was perhaps a little too effusive with her remarks: "Please just read the play, Charlie. It’s not Shakespeare, if that’s what you’re worried about, but I think you will understand exactly what I mean once you do read it. I’m looking forward to seeing you audition, but just remember that you won’t be the only student who will be auditioning, okay?’ ‘Alright, I can do that. And I’ll get Brayden to help me rehearse.’ ‘I’m already looking forward to seeing what you can do with the main character,’ Miss Carlton replied. ‘Now you two had best head off for lunch. I don’t want you missing out." With Charlie's current appearance @Mark Ponyboy Peters I can see him resembling David Sylvian from Japan in 5-10 years time. He was very "pretty" in Japan's early years, and must have been a big inspiration for Duran Duran, especially for Nick Rhodes. Love this song.

Or perhaps Drake, Garret or Crimson of Carronne? Who is she you may ask. She is Carronne's pre-eminent madam and sole resident drag queen, formerly married to Ruby, the voluptuous cook of the castle. Although no longer betrothed, they share a hatred for both Septimus and Judayah of Enkarra, and will do anything to help each other to ensure their demise. And what of that damn raven, sticking its beak in again where it is not wanted. It will no doubt report its findings to Judayah of Enkarra, make haste to Highshaw, a name which sounds very much like a village or town from a Jane Austen novel. Someone needs to serve that bird for dinner, or maybe the magical eagle of @centexhairysub will have it for lunch. War is on the horizon I think @Mark Ponyboy Peters.

I was thinking Nuclear Natasha @Paladin. Part Alexis Morel Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan (without the shoulder pads and upper-class British accent), part Gina Hard Face Bitch (without the mining empire) and part Jilly Stewart (without Wendy Hughes stunning looks and screen presence). I expect Nagtasha will attempt to manipulate both Benjamin and Martin, and when that fails will threaten one or both with Felix only knows what. I have to wonder if she has ever expressed any dislike or disdain for gay men considering Benjamin's fear of her finding out, or is this fear just a fear of her in general as she is such a controlling, manipulative, nasty, contemptuous bitch. I can feel my claws starting to sharpen and the heckles on the back of my neck starting to stand up already contemplating the arrival of Nagtasha. Martin needs to have this song cued ready for her arrival, ready to be played LOUD, especially the hee haw-ing of the male backing vocalists.

The start of a new friendship between the two couples? Perhaps. It would likely be beneficial to both couples to expand their friendship circle. Short and sweet this chapter @Robert Hugill, with only five more chapters before the story's conclusion if I remember correctly. Time yet for the Nimrud Panther to make its appearance. I cannot help but think it is going to be anti-climactic. A total letdown after all the hype.

Talking trees with life saving leaves, talking serpents delivering sage advice, perfect "fodder" for a songwriter like the late David Bowie or Kate Bush. Vince the guardian is seriously injured and once again it is the "useless" clairvoyant, the puny weakling field mouse, Jack, who will save the day. His self-deprecation is understandable, but he has been the "leader", the shining light, in this quest Beyond The Veil. As for Theo, what ever has possessed him has appealed to his vanity to infiltrate his mind and body. You are certainly keeping us on our toes @Laura S. Fox.

Wow! Noah resisted Leo's "charms" about as much as Brad resisted Frank 'N' Furter's. Hot, hot, hot. If Leo looks half as good as Frank in a corset, fishnet stockings and heels, Noah is "doomed".
