Fortunately my counterculture tendencies allow me to carry around a backpack in which I stow everything I need. After all, how does one leave without... Cigs Lighter Backup lighter Lotion Body spray Toothbrush Little thingy of toothpaste Deodorant (just in case I get stuck somewhere overnight) Money Cards (ID, phone card, etc.) The almighty screwdriver!!! HOW do you NOT have to have one of those?! All my random paraphrenalia... Laptop (on occasion) CD case MP3 player (no, I didn't replace CD's, just added to them) Black nail polish A handful of pens and pencils Sharpies of assorted colors!!! Old midnight blue manic panic hair dye... why is this still in here... The book I'm currently reading Safety pins!!! (These can be a lifesaver... laugh if you want, but this once I ripped my pants, and w/o safety pins my entire right ass cheek would've been visible... not to mention these are quite versatile for piercings. ) Scissors Pocket pack of kleenex Then there's the hidden pocket, whose contents are not to be disclosed to the unworthy, muah ha ha! Every now and then a schoolbook or binder when I need it. Most of the time a change of clothes or at least a spare shirt (jeans can be worn twice without incident) My backpack is important... and it's falling apart, and I need a new one, hehe. It's necessary considering my lifestyle... I go to school, and wherever I end up after I get out, I MIGHT not make it back home that night depending on the situation and what I want to do, so yeah. Gotta be prepared. And plus, don't diss the screwdriver! It's probably the most versatile tool there is!

A little known secret... the best recipe for cheesecake is on the back of the box of Knox unflavored gelatin. People have begged my mother for her recipe, but the kicker is that it's right there in the open, and it's sooooo incredibly easy and versatile. Plus, it's easy to remember! Whatever kind of cheesecake you want, just add to it. Here's the recipe. (Tis all in standard, so sorry to you metric using folks) 1 envelope of Knox unflavored gelatine (the envelope contains 7 grams of gelatin, if that helps anyone that can't get that brand where they live) 1 cup cold water 2 8 oz. packages of cream cheese, softened 1/2 cup sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 9-inch graham cracker crust In a saucepan, add gelatine to 1/4 cup cold water, and let stand one minute. Stir over low heat until dissolved. (Or, you can do it in the microwave! Just let it sit in the 1/4 cup cold water for TWO minutes, then nuke it about forty secs, stir it, and let it sit two minutes. If it's not totally dissolved, do it again.) Get a large bowl and beat the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until it's blended. Gradually add the gelatine and remaining water until it's all nice and smooth. Pour it into your crust (I find that homemade crust with whatever you like to add, like toffee chips or chocolate chips, is pretty awesome), and stick it in the fridge until it firms up. See? So easy, no baking or anything. And you can do a lot with this simple recipe, and it's damn good cheesecake.

I learned to read when I was three years old. When I was young, reading was a huge part of my life since it was a way to escape my real life and kind of put everything on hold long enough to follow along in someone else's life. The reason I'm spending so much time writing gay fiction is because it's what I relate to a lot. Before I started reading gay fiction, I was pretty sure I was alone in a lot of the feelings and circumstances I had. So, when I found out I wasn't, it was kind of natural to want to contribute to it. I love to write, and it's something I like to think I'm fairly decent at. The only specific person who has really influenced me to write (a lot of people have in their own little ways, but I'm talking majorly) would be a good friend of mine who's been in contact with me for a long time now, ever since I first started posting the first story I wrote on Nifty. He's always made sure I know that he thinks I'm a great writer (even though now when I look back it seems as if he was lying through his teeth to me, lol), and he's been extremely supportive. When I first started, I had no idea if I was any good or not, and he gave me the motivation to keep trying and getting better. Okay, I kind of lied. Empathy mentioned Comicality earlier. He freakin' rocks. GFD was, and still is, one of my absolute favorite stories I've ever read online (even though it's not finished... *hint hint*). It really had a serious impact on me, and I guess I kind of wanted to have that same impact on someone else someday, and this was a way to use what talents I have to try.

Okay, I might have to stop offending every single Christian I come into contact with. Maybe there's hope for them after all. I've been telling them all over and over that if they're really Christians (Jews can still get away with it), then they're supposed to take the teachings of the new testament over the old.... and it seems like this is sinking in with a few people. Jesus did always say to just be nice to everybody (in so many words). I will say that I strongly disagree that homosexuality is a product of birth in and of itself. I think that it is mainly a psychological thing, and that perhaps certain genes contribute to the likelihood that a person will be homosexual. I do, however, believe that it is completely involuntary. There is no "choice" involved. And, as the APA has said countless times, I think it would be extremely risky and potentially very harmful to a person to attempt to change a person's orientation. This is something that develops naturally, and some things just shouldn't be screwed with. I like that a Baptist is being so intelligent about things. Normally they're the hellfire and brimstone preaching ones, so this is nice. Maybe in the future this will be the common view of Christians. It's something to hope for, anyway. I'm not gonna hold my breath, though. -
Harry just gets hotter and hotter. Can't wait for the next book to come out... I try to avoid anything that is unfinished for this very reason, I can't STAND not knowing how the damned thing ends. J.K. needs to move her tush...

Happy birthday!!!! So, I hope something absolutely kickass happens on your b-day, since everyone deserves a kickass event on their special day. Seventeen is a pretty cool age, too. Go blow on a candle or something! teehee, blow...

Hehehe! Kevin! I love it! You should apply to be one of the Queer Eye guys! (I bet they make a lotta money....) I might take some of your advice. Back in the day I used to actually try and groom and all that, but nowadays I shave once or twice a week, and other than deodorant and body spray I don't do much... although everyone I hug always tells me I smell great.

Ah... he's cute, but in a very limited sort of way. The music sounds really eighties-y, lol. I kind of like it. All in all, not really my thing, but I could get into it if I tried.

He's absolutely amazing with that lil ukulele! He's very adorable, just not my type of guy. I especially liked his cover of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". Twas very nice.

Good point... Naruto is the best anime ever made. A quick summary: Naruto Uzumaki is a genin (low-class ninja) in Konoha village. He is the vessel for the Nine-tails, a vicious fox-demon who was sealed away by the Fourth Hokage (leader of the village) into Naruto as a newborn, sacrificing the Hokage's life in the process to save the village. Naruto faces much rejection, many obstacles, and constant difficulty, but through it all remains sure that he will someday become the most powerful ninja in the village and obtain the title of Hokage. Tis very inspirational, if I do say so myself. So WATCH THE SHOW... but not the English version. The English version sucks. Watch the Japanese with subtitles, yesh! And let a rabid fangirl come after me... she'll just meet up with a rabid fanboy.

May I suggest the few forum games in the lounge, as well as the random topics? It definitely gives you a chance to spout off without thinking too much, so it's just more fun than anything else. Or find a hosted author's forum that you like (you mentioned a few authors), and tell them publicly what you liked. That way you get your five posts through a good deed, anyway. Hopefully you'll keep posting after just five, though. Even I'm surprised at how much fun this forum is and how devoted most of the members are.

I wanted to know if anybody else on GA loves Naruto as much as I do. I was pondering the idea of an in depth Naruto fanfic with an alternate storyline (not to mention without the 100 or so episodes of filler... ~hisses~). So, what's everybody think about the best anime ever made?

Graeme makes a great point. I voted for characters, because I believe that if you have highly developed, interesting, good characters, they practically make the story themselves. But there are those times when I fall into what Graeme was talking about... brilliant characters and absolutely NO plot line whatsoever, lol.

2000 posts of Kittyness. That just rocks hardcore no matter how you look at it! Go Kitty!

A friend sent me a link to Gone From Daylight on Comicality's site, and I found the link from there.

Well, it's just that Freddie Mercury is God. Gerard Way is just very close, that's all.
-
I think it's a compliment... If I didn't have Gerard Way, I'd probably worship Freddie Mercury instead, cept for the whole dead thing. I think if he ever heard someone compare him to Freddie Mercury, he'd be incredibly happy, since y'know, Mercury was probably one of the single best vocalists of all time.

Screw the candy! I would slap my mother for a chance to see them live, lol! And that's not anything to take lightly since she'd fight back and probably wipe the floor with me.

MTV is the devil. They still show videos every now and then, but usually on MTV2 or MTV3 or whatever the hell they have now. Usually it's nothing good on there, though. If you want to see the video and have a decently fast connection, you can always go to www.mychemicalromance.com and watch it streaming from their page under 'media'. I HIGHLY recommend it... Gerard Way in a band uniform is surprisingly scrumptious. The only MCR song that's ever made me sad is Helena, and that's only because it was an ex's favorite and I associate them with it in my head. Otherwise, they get me all hyped up. Now... I have GOT to get to a concert!!!!!! It just is NOT fair that I haven't seen them live yet!

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!! <--- crazed fan scream YES! I've been listening to it over and over while I play around on my computerator, and I'm loving every song. Although 'Teenagers', 'The End', and a couple others stand out a lot. To sum up, though, I just absolutely LOVE it. Maybe I'm weird, but MCR has always just made me extremely happy and bouncy, lol. On the bus I was jumping around and screaming with a fellow fan while we listened to it on her headphones, hehe.

Now that was actually fairly hilarious. Sometimes I wonder if Christians really think that gays recruit other gays... and then I found this Truth for Youth Bible comic thing, and oh gawd, it was horrid. The title, you've probably heard of it, was "Adam and EVE, not Adam and STEVE", and it showed the gay neighbors (one skinhead and the other one just looked freakin evil) trying to convince the neighbor boy that all his homosexual urges were natural and healthy while the text in their thought bubbles read "Fresh meat" or something to that effect, hehe. It cracked me up to no end. I just like to have a sense of humor about it. If people want to believe something so obviously idiotic, then let them, that's protected by the constitution. Although, I seriously think a clause prohibiting free speech by stupid people deserves consideration...

NEW MCR VIDEO! Okay, normally I wouldn't make a topic about something like this... but I'm a crazed, rabid, borderline stalker fan, and I finally saw the new video for Welcome to the Black Parade last night, and it ROCKED MY WORLD. The new album is absolutely awesome, and I wanted to see if there are any more My Chemical Romance fans out there in the GA world. Anyone who knows me well knows I've wanted in Gerard Way's pants for a long time now, hehe. And it just HAD to be all marching-bandy! Of course, marching bands absolutely rock beyond belief, so that was just awesome. And Gerard's hair is... wow, different, lol. Not anything I imagined he would do with it, but it's very cute on him. Does anyone else think he's lost some weight? But anyways, someone else come in here and ramble with me so I'm not alone with my MCR obsession!!!!!! So, whatchas think?

Okies sound beautimous! All rainbowy and such, awesome! And where did all that come from? Its really imaginitive, lol! I mean, a clear, rainbow producing fish, that lives in an oxygen bubble plant house? That's pretty darn nifty.
