I'm glad that you found that distraction method successful, I'm just saddened to learn that you found yourself in a similar situation. As far as Barry's other friends, they were modeled on guys I knew (vaguely) when I was in college - many eons ago.

Thanks, Al. That's exactly what he is. Just a random character that happened to be where the boys were. Maybe he was looking for a handout or hoping to steal something out of the SUV, but nothing more than that. I've found that people like that are attracted to younger people whom they believe are naive, or older people whom they are hoping are suffering from a mild form of dementia.

Did you ever consider that he might have just been a guy looking to rob them, which wouldn't have had anything to do with being a skinwalker? Maybe he was just hoping to steal their SUV or looking for something he could sell for a little cash. I think sometime you guys expect every incidental character will become involved in the story. Sometimes they're just what they seem in the first place.

I didn't know any of the evil skinwalkers had a name, and if they did I would assume it would be a Native American name, since they were all shamans at the time they became evil skinwalkers. Even if we did that, we'd have to take Louella to Utah, or possibly New Mexico, to introduce them. I'd do think she'd go with the group, at least not voluntarily, but that is a good idea. I'm not sure if Louella is still in her childbearing years, but if she is they it would give the skinwalker a chance to poroduce his son, who would probably bear more of a resemblance to the father, rather than the mother Putting t hat aside, could you imagine a fat skinwalker?

The song couldn't possibly be about sex, because if it was the censors would have prevented it being played on the radio or used on television shows. They probably would have also blocked it from being used in movies as well, because we know sex must be kept in the dark and not be glorified in music or displayed on TV because it might overstimulate the teens and young adults. That was the 1950s and 1960s logic. Hell, the even stopped TV from allowing married couples to sleep in the same bed. They had to sleep in twin beds, and I'm surprised they didn't require them to sleep in bunk beds.

If Louella took a long walk off a short pier you'd probably hear the tsunami sirens go off in Hawaii and Japan. 😜 As far as campus security being around when they're needed the most, stay tuneed, because that question may be answered for you on next Tuesday. 👮‍♂️ 👮‍♀️

Tony, the guy who asked about a restaurant can't be an evil skinwalker because they wouldn't be able to pass as human. Their features would be distorted and hideous. You're too nice a guy and I think Louella has had more than enough chances to prove that she's human and has a heart, but maybe that's just me.

Robbers vs skinwalkers. Sounds like something from WrestleMania. And the question of whether or not they'll find the evil skinwalker is still up in the air, and I'm sure you won't find that out in the next chapter.

I'd say that's probably a fair bet.

No, a leopard, nor Louella, can change its spots or distinctive nature. You can't say that Pops didn't try to warn them and give them a chance to change their minds, so it will be interesting to see what happens next.

Yes, that's always an option, but what would you suggest they do with it? Rent it to college students? There may be a chance they could rent it to a new faculty member, at least until they find a home that they might want to buy, or would you have them tear down Louella's home and just expand their property, possibly to make it a private dog park? I doubt Louella's property is a double lot like theirs is and runs all the way to the street behind it, so there would still be one other property owner to contend with.

Who knows, maybe they'll change their identities by then and will just start over fresh with the new neighbors. Hopefully it won't be one of Louella's relatives who's just like her.

I'm glad you agree that the boys have to be somewhat circumspect with Louella, at least for Gramps and Pops sake. Yes, the gangstas are going to find out they are outmatched and should be choosing their victims more carefully. However, that might not have a chance to put that newly gained insight into practice for a few years.

And I'll be damned if I didn't forget to quote @drpaladin as well. I guess I shouldn't be staying up all night. Yes, Louella will probably be a pain in the ass no matter what they do, but Gramps and Pops don't want the boys to aggravate her, because they'll still have the house and be staying there next to her even after the boys graduate. And yes, the report about where the suspected skinwalker was seen is quite large, but maybe they're hoping the shaman or his son will be able to help them narrow the search area. As far as the robbers are concerned, I'm sure that Gramps and Pops already have a plan or a trick or two up their sleeves, so you'll have just have to wait to see what Flash Gordon, I mean Gramps and Pops, do to survive Emperor Ming's, or in this case the robbers' dastardly plot. 😜

Possibly Preston feels that Bear's owner would rather select someone younger, or someone he already knows or had been referred to him. If he'd mentioned this to Mac, I'm sure he could have come up with some reason to tell Preston that it wouldn't be an option, just like he did when Preston wanted to know where Bear had been trained, so he could take Bailey there as well.

A compelling yet sad story about a James Dean like figure named Carver, who seemed to have been born with everything - looks, brains, and talent. I grew up with several dogs and even more cats. When my children were younger, we had both while they were growing up. The girls were closer with the cats, while the boys were active with the dogs. For the most part, I had to interact with both to make sure they kids were feeding and taking care of them. Now, I have neither, because I can't afford the pet food and vet care required.
