I'm not sure. I guess you'll just have to wait and see. We're not there yet.

Since it's her family home and she grew up there, I doubt she'd be willing to sell, and since no one would be likely to marry her, it would be a standoff. I know Gramps and Pops aren't there often, but she could make the caretaker's lif3e hell.
-
Like I've said, Gramps and Pops asked the boys not to do that, because they'll still have to deal with her after the goys have graduated. I'm sure she'd fight back in some way, so it's better not to poke the hornets' nest.

Now that's a possibility. He may have Navajo or another Native American background and had heard of skinwalkers, but he would have only heard about evil skinwalkers. Since Devin doesn't appear evil or hideous, that should be enough to clear this up. It wouldn't be too strange for him to think that, though, if he's a big Harry Potter fan. Maybe he thinks that's possible as well, but I don't believe it's anything to worry about. It seems to have shaken Devin up a bit, but I think Mac has calmed him down for now.

They boys have a lot on their plate, so they might be why they aren't continuing their exercise program or Devin isn't working with Mac and changing into more species. It's a good thought, though. As far as Louella is concerned, I think Devin would want to do that, but Gramps and Pops have asked him not to, since they'll still be there after the boys graduate and will have to continue dealing with her. They aren't there often and don't want a battle every time they return.

That's an interesting idea, although I don't believe a group of homeless boys would be that far out in the country looking for shelter or food. I believe you're correct, lthough, that Mac and Devin would have probably tried to help them if they thought that was the case. It was more likely just a group of local boys doing a little exploring and got caught on private land.

Yes, it was the caretaker. I knew it would leave all of you guessing as to who it was. I know that was a little cruel, but a little misdirection can be a good thing. Yes, you don't want those boys coming back to the hunting camp, because who knows what they might see in the future. Whatever they saw, it wouldn't be good for the family, that's if anyone believed them. Yes, others might not consider the other boys suggestion that Devin might be able to change into a dog, but it's better to nip it in the bud early, so that idea doesn't spread. I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter.

Ok, you went further than I did. I was talking about the original evil skinwalkers, not their offspring. I believe you might be correct where that is concerned, but I believe the original skinwalkers are confined to an area around the original reservation where they were trapped, although they might spread out to nearby reservations, if they couldn't find anything to hunt. Mayb e I'm wrong, but that's how I understand it.

It is my understanding that they can change betweein their old form and an animal, possibly other human forms as well, but no matter what they change to, they're always hideous looking and would be spotted immediately.

I'm glad you can't wait for the next chapter. Isn't the old saying, keep them coming back for more? As far as Devin's family knows, there are no good skinwalkers outside of the reservation, except for them, and an evil skinwalker isn't capable of maintaining a normal looking form, either human or animal. They always look hideous, no matter what what form they're taking on. Good thought though, and I'm glade you're enjoying the story.

Yes, that's a possibility as well.

It's just that people probably see the boys together so often that it just seemed strange not to see them together. His comment about Devin possibly being the dog was just some kind of weird joke, since he expected to see Mac and Devin together, not Mac and a dog. As far as animal attraction, in the animal world, just like in the human world, the female may show interest, but it's up to the male to decide if anything happens. Vice versa, the male may show interest in the femaile, but she'll decide if anything happens. It has been observed in many animal species (mammals, birds, fish, and insects) where a form of harassment has been used to force the coupling, but that would be the male forcing the action, not the female. However, your question made me wonder that if a skinwalker impregnated an animal if that would be it's only offspring - a single male no matter what species. It would seem to me that this would be the case.

Yes, it was, and if you remember, he was the one that saved the clippings about the boys first trip to the hospital with Gramps and Pops, which got Devin in a bit of trouble. It seems part of his job is keeping Gramps and Pops informed about the boys and anything that happens where they might have been.

Chapter 16 – The End of the Semester. When Gramps opened the door to find out who was there, we all saw the caretaker standing on the other side. “Welcome back,” he greeted Gramps. “Are you and Isaac aware of what happened at the lake while you were there?” “If you’re referring to the woman who was kidnapped, we talked to the sheriff’s deputies about it after she was rescued.” “Then you might also like to read this,” he added as he handed Gramps a newspaper. “There’s q

During the month of December, children are eager for Christmas Day to arrive because they're eager to unwrap their presents.

And it's where the word habitual comes from, meaning to do something constantly or as a habit. Who'd have guessed?
-
Fortunately, GA members exhibit a good habit - reading!

@wildone I really don't know what to talk about his week Yes, I am at a loss for words! Should I go see a doctor to see if this is a treatable condition...? NO! Just ask the doctor if there's a way to make in permanent.

I will add my simple congratulations as well. It doesn't earn you anything except the adoration of all the GA members.

If that was like the Tradition English fish and chips, then what they used was malt vinegar. That was one of my favorite meals when I was in England.

Cod is a fish with a white flakey flesh with a mild taste and is a popular food in several countries. Older people may remember it as a source of cod liver oil.

I'm worried about what's going to happen due to overfishing. Trawlers go out using huge nets and scoop up much more than they'd get if they were merely fishing in the more traditional sense, and we're also limiting the food supply for other species at the same time.

I'd never heard of this word before and I doubt if I'd ever use it. I'm afraid people would confuse it as another word for vomiting. Either that or think my enunciation was off when I was trying to say cheer up.

I wonder if it would taste like a lime gummy bear.
