Thanks! I can relate to hearing stories from grandparents. My gandmother used to tell me about her experiences doring the war. She was living in Poland at the time.

Thank you. I tried to make the letters as simmilar to real letters from WWII as possible. Most of the ones I saw on line were short and to the point.

Thank you. I'm glad you liked the story. The reason I had Mike come out to his dad separately was partly because Mike was so concerned about what his father might say or do. I also imagined Mike finally finding the courage to start the conversation and not wanting to wait.

I love the way you make the murder seem almost acceptable. Your story really made me think about how our sense of righ and wrong is influenced by those closest to us.

I have to agree that its a dark storie but I love your take on the theme. Usualy when I think of the term "blind side" I don't think of it as something you would create for yourself.

Mike grew up hearing his grandfather’s war stories. Mike has always been able to talk to his grandfather about anything but he was nervous about telling his grandfather about his boyfriend. His grandfather got sick and died before they could have the conversation. Not knowing how his grandfather would have reacted bothered mike. Then a chance discovery in Grandfather’s attic revealed that Grandpa had a few more stories to tell. -
I think I might have read this story before. It was absolutely worth reading again!
