Mike grew up hearing his grandfather’s war stories. Mike has always been able to talk to his grandfather about anything but he was nervous about telling his grandfather about his boyfriend. His grandfather got sick and died before they could have the conversation. Not knowing how his grandfather would have reacted bothered mike. Then a chance discovery in Grandfather’s attic revealed that Grandpa had a few more stories to tell.

This is not only a historical short story, but it's also a romance.  The author skillfully and successfully transitions between the present and the past as he tells the stories of two men, a grandfather and grandson.  It is both a touching and heartbreaking tale, and when you read it you will be deeply moved, so do yourself a favor and check out this wonderful short story.
