  1. ............I also wondered about that one, why would Arnold add that there if there wasn't a significance to it for Bridget? Perhaps the dead man has left an more incriminating document/tape against the cartel then the one that Trevor owns, far outweighing Trevors. Perhaps there is a clue in that recipe that leads the police to find another tape from the late Arnold in a long term locker or deposit box. Gonzales leaks the discovery and the cartel takes another look at Bridget. Since Trevor has not seen this other evidence, he is off the hook..........except with Bridget. So what if the cartel thinks that the new found tape by the feds is the 'only' tape and that Bridget was just trying to avenge her lost and failed assassination attempt of Trevor to cover herself from the murder of her late husband by claiming Trevor had the tape? They already know of her deceptions and her ruthless ways to come to the conclusion that she lied to them. I think Steve has brought up a valid point that I dismissed without thinking it through, but before this comes to light. I think Bridget will lose a crew chasing Trevor with his trusty 30-06 the cartel will not be happy, then if Gonzales releases the info that a tape has been found in a safety deposit box owned by Arnold, well lets just say that will piss Bridget off enough to pursue Trevor herself!
  2. That might be too much to put on the plate with only 3 chapters left!
  3. ...............Interesting how I can see that, but wayyyy! to early in time for it to be so. Still an interesting choice, I always thought that Led Zeppelin's song "That's The Way" was more oriented towards a gay teen. "That's The Way" I don't know how I'm gonna tell you, I can't play with you no more, I don't know how I'm gonna do what mama told me, My friend, the boy next door. I can't believe what people saying, You're gonna let your hair hang down, I'm satisfied to sit here working all day long, You're in the darker side of town. And when I'm out I see you walking, Why don't your eyes see me, Could it be you've found another game to play, What did mama say to me. That's the way, oh, That's the way it ought to be, Yeah, yeah, mama say That's the way it ought to stay. And yesterday I saw you standing by the river, And weren't those tears that filled your eyes, And all the fish that lay in dirty water dying, Had they got you hypnotized? And yesterday I saw you kissing tiny flowers, But all that lives is born to die. And so I say to you that nothing really matters, And all you do is stand and cry. I don't know what to say about it, When all you ears have turned away, But now's the time to look and look again at what you see, Is that the way it ought to stay? That's the way... That's the way it oughtta be Oh don't you know now, mama said.. That's the way it's gonna stay, yeah. Now, I know Plant said that it was about the environment and the Vietnam war, but it struck a cord in me that this was different or could be seen differently then what he said. I always thought it was about a gay teen.
  4. .......................Hahahaha! I especially love the goats hat!
  5. ....................CJ's new story is already in the works, it is a sequel to FTL.
  6. ..............Wow, another great chapter!
  7. ............Hmmm, nobody really mentioned the title to this chapter. I get the 'end of the world', but now to the 'false hopes'! Was it that Joel was hopefully going to finally get to see where their honeymoon was located at? Was it Bridget thinking she finally had Trevor in her grasp? Or was it that the custom officer thinking that he got off Scot free from giving his permission and was bribed? Or could it be Trevor's assumption that when they reached their designation at sea they would be 'safe'? Bridget is going to be furious with the boys escaping her yet again, will she just send out Xavier and his crew after them then Trevor takes them out with the 30-06 rifle. Or will she go along to make sure that 'if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself'. I doubt that with 3 more chapters, and I think it is more likely that Bridget try's to lure Trevor in at Joel and Lisa's honeymoon suite with the threat of death to his friends. Hopefully, Gonzales will be all over it with trepidation of Bridget.
  8. .................Humm, Looks like a clean getaway from the Argentinians for Trevor and Shane. But the Chileans might be wondering why their territory was breached possibly twice if the Argentinian gunboat tried following much further, as I'm sure they were ordered to. Where Trevor is now heading, who would be crazy enough to follow him?
  9. ...............But sugar would do the same thing wouldn't it?

    Chapter 19 Changes

............... Oh wow! I was not expecting JT to get out of that situation so easily, makes me wonder why they bothered to kidnap him in the first place? Were they looking for something in the house and his arrival change their plans? Right now it would seem that JT was the only person that was with his father and could be charged in his murder as he has evidence on him. Is he being made a scapegoat? Then again, the demise of his mother is still unknown at this time. Cody makes an interesting new character in the story, I can only conclude his brother did more then just beat him up, so then Cody's father needs to charged also, with at least child endangerment, unless he too also took liberties with him. It wasn't mentioned, but assumed that Cody was taken to a hospital first to record the injuries. Finally you have leukemia entering the picture for Joey, actually with the spirituality in this story, I get the feeling it is not going to be a big problem!! Great to see another chapter!!

    Chapter 8

I had a feeling that Dylan and Dodger would be re-united when Dylan started to talk about his horse, that feeling grew stronger when the phone call came in about an abused horse. Another great chapter!
  12. .............. But what if the engines don't seize up until 6-8 hours later after leaving in pursuit? Trevor and Shane may have a ten hour start and The British will meet them just outside of the claimed territory, or will they go in if they see Trevor's boat getting attacked? As much as I like the idea of Bridget and her goons getting arrested in British waters it is not likely going to happen. I think the scenerio would be after Trevor and Shane leave British waters, maybe they will get a sheilded escort part of the way.
  13. ............ I have two guess's here, one Trevor is seeing if anyone is on board the gunship and maybe boarding it to sabatage the engines. Another is if he feels that no one is there then to set sail away as quickly as he can and call Fowler for help. That would put him on course to the Falkland Island, Chile would be a quicker escape, but still being a Cartel held area it would be to dangerous to go there. The title of the next chapter False Hopes and The End of the World seems to indicate that Bridget will fail in the false hopes part, not sure about the end of the world part unless it points to the demise of the persuing antagonists after Trevor and Shane. Then it is a guess that Trevor would do the former then the latter because unless he can get backing by th British in time he would have to fire upon the gunship, creating a big problem. The latter leaves a chase scene where he has no choice, I think this parodox can be solved with a phone call and get the British going towards Trevor's position before the gunboat catches up, I don't think Bridget's people could catch up in time and that venture will come later.

    Dylan

Very powerful and painful to read. Dylan has lost his first love riding and his innocence, then his friendships and lust for life. I don't see a followup to this story, the message was pointedly made. However, the Cody's of the world need to be caught and stopped.
  15. .............. Interesting, our young Pasha seems to be even stronger then the Angels trying to restrain him now. And as the chapter title suggest, he is now an avenging angel. But right now he is about to seek vengeance on a very surprised Micheal, whom I suspect will be driven back or killed! Thanks Nephy!
  16. ...........Exactly! I knew was a lesbian years ago, where is the news?
  17. ........... You're most likely correct, the Falklands would be a better choice designation, I thought Chile was closer and given the animosity between Argentina and Chile I thought they would get a faster and protective mode from Chile. But given that Bridget's people are all over South America. And as a bonus the English and American's are on very good terms, I'm sure even Fowler can hold sway with the the British Navy.
  18. .............Trevor is trying to see if anyone is on board the gunship, the sound of something hitting the side of the gunship would make anyone present on board come to investigate. It might be grit time for an engine or 2!

    Chapter 7

............. Let the fireworks begin, I wonder if their mothers will has a provision in it that if she passes on, all her money will go to the children also. Their grandfather seems to have been pretty shrewd. The plans for the ranch sound great, and I'm they will be a great success. I too am enjoying the story, I'm and anxious for the next chapter.
  20. .....After spudding the gunship, is Trevor planning to board her and perhaps disabling the engines? That is almost a bigger risk then rounding the cape. One thing is for sure they have to get out of there tonight and head for Chile. Bridget having contacts with the customs people in Argentina, they might send out more then one boat for Trevor after their gunship fails. It would be fitting that Trevor's action results in an International incident between Chile and Argentina! Then they will be in the papers again!! That will be great publicity for the book! I'll take a stab at next weeks title The Chase Great chapter CJ!
  21. ..............Of course I have!! The goat is always throwing us screwballs, this is why I think Wildone's prediction may have merit. Grundig could be a very low operative feeding info to the Australian underworld which had access by Blakenstoke and Gray, but not to Bridget as her links are only to those two. Well one and now none, Bridget's friends seem to keep disappearing from view! So now let's go to another scenario, one the goat has hinted at but but kept quite about. The tape if viewed by anyone would mark those seeing it to death by Bridget's cartel, but what if the other cartels that were victimized saw it? "The tape Arnold had created was a weapon, though one bearing two edges; the cartel was strong enough that some of it would largely survive a war with its rivals, though all sides in such a war would suffer. The cartel would, perforce, seek the death of anyone with knowledge of the tape’s contents" And what if Bridget having no real contacts with 'her' cartel in this area of the world and reached out to the other cartel to do a contract on Trevor and Shane. But the leader was a bit leery of the request and needed to know why, and Trevor shows them the tape after being boarded. The leader decides not to honor the contract and instead takes the tape and goes back to his people freeing Trevor and Shane and allowing them to continue their journey. A cartel war envelopes and Bridget is the cause making her seek safety into the sea, with only revenge on mind for Trevor......
  22. ............But.........but... Wildone said that when Trevor first came across the narrow openings that when Fowler and Grundig apprehended him that they were keeping an eye out for his boat as his passage was used by smugglers of animals and drugs. Likewise, Grundig was in perfect position to know if the Customs people spotted incoming boats. Remember Grundig was not surprised to find out that Fowler was Trevor's Uncle. Bad Wildone....Bad Wildone
  23. .........Actually I have to give kudos to where they lie, Wildone was the first one to suggest that Grundig was an informer, way back when I thought Julie was a traitor. So I kept a close tab on anything Grundig had to say, or was narrated of him. So if Grundig is indeed a villain all accolades should go to Steve! (Wildone) After-all the goat always says "Blame Wildone"
  24. ................Aha, but remember, once Gray disappeared Bridget had no contacts in Australia anymore, so maybe Grundig was Gray's informant. In fact Bridget had no contact there until Baskingstoke, who gave Bridget Grays number. With Gray being out of the picture now, Grundig could be safe if he was involved, but somebody in the police was involved in keeping the cartel up to date on the comings and goings of Trevor.
