    Chapter 4 Lawman

Solid advice from the Sheriff: move on. I hope Boone does. Maybe he can find some more, or one, made like him.
  2. The imagery isn’t taking shape in my head yet so I’m not sure if this will go Bonanza, The Virginian, Big Valley, Gunsmoke or Wild, Wild West but it will shaped by television shows I’m sure. I can pretty much see that I’m going to have to get heartbroken before I can get happy. Let’s go …

    Chapter 7

I would not agree to be a 14 year-old boy, gay boy(!), again for any amount of money. You, John Henry, are awakening a teen angst in me and I don’t mind at all. Great read. Really interested to see Steve develop further.
  4. What is happening? I’m all in.

    Indigo

Another great glimpse into their world. So much love. So much past. ❤️
  6. Your pacing is fantastic. The storytelling? *chef’s kiss* I’ve smiled through most of the story so far but the emotional nuances are so good. Dips into darkness. Humor can cover stuff, yeah? Your word choices are a delight. Split ends, they make their own water, because I like the color blue. So good.
  7. This is comment number 4,117 on a book that is clearly well-loved. That’s so cool y’all! Took me an entire day to consider what I wanted to say. Took me just a few days to read this terrific tale but, once started, I couldn’t put it down. @Headstall @raven1 this has felt like a guided tour and I thank you for the experience. You didn’t steer me wrong, Terry. I loved it. Every word. Every word and every character! That’s what stands out the most hours after finishing this final Malaise chapter. The characters! Masterful character development. Love them all. This felt like a book club read so thanks again and @Albert1434 and @JohnnyC thanks for riding along too. Beautiful.

    New Perspectives

Seems so appropriate that Fendral’s first word spoken was ‘piss’. Seems he’s full of that and vinegar! How wonderful to have his perspective and the history that comes with it.
  9. Kendall’s thoughts about Tobyn are so deeply beautiful. Perfect for each other barely scratches the surface. I’m so hopeful for Fendral. I love the simple, hopeful comment from@Albert1434 : “Love will find a way.” ❤️
  10. My head is spinning from all that information and Kellar’s must be too. Undeniable beauty in the knowledge that he has found his true home:
  11. “As yet,” Just marking your words my friend…
  12. What does this mean, first FIRST FIRST book?
  13. I am very lucky not to have to survive this cliffhanger!

    The Reunion

You have just flung me around the entire emotional spectrum today, Gary. I have laughed, cried (again with Sybil & Arthur) and needed a cold shower. I can typically take or leave shifter stories but this is a great deal more than just that and I’m in awe of it, every word.
  15. Gonna have to read this chapter again because that ‘submission’ blew the rest out of my mind. I’m well aware you always write tasteful sex scenes, lots of love making. This? This was just plain HOT. Well done. Wow.
  16. Same here! Apparently it was time for another ugly cry…❤️
  17. There’s a lot to cheer for in this chapter, Bill / Arthur’s healing and the tremendous potential that lies in front of Vega. I’m stuck on one line from the guys’ conversation on their run: ”We don’t hurt anyone; we’re just different.” That really hits home. Such a simple truth for anyone who has ever felt marginalized or lesser because they are different. Powerful stuff sprinkled in the midst of a very busy day for the guys. Love it.
  18. I see you ignored my question, supposition about this being a shifter history written as fiction. What better way to preserve a history? Makes sense. Really love this. Thanks guys!!!
  19. Not messiah at all but pretty much Savior. Reincarnation? Descended from. Coincidence? That’s a lot to digest. For Kellar. That painting and the oral history. Am I reading a fictionalized version of actual Shifter history? Wait… I’ve never accepted a better challenge / invitation than to read this with @raven1. @Headstall thank you for the reason to be together ❤️
  20. Clarence had me near tears until Logan delivered his review of the tea: “Tastes like shit” made me laugh out loud!! Real roller coaster this chapter. Fantastic read.
  21. ‘Sorting’, in this context, is absolutely going to be part of my vocabulary from now on! Their passion is palpable. This new gift makes me wonder why they might need, or benefit from, it. Looks like we’re pacing each other now @raven1! Back to work for me today after a long weekend. I suspect my productivity will be off since I’m so far down this Morningstar rabbit (wolf?) hole.

    Chapter 5

I’m curious about Bryan’s curiosity about Calvin. Something seems to be building up there. Will there be back-to-school drama?
  23. Welp. I knew there’d be tears eventually. I’ve been close before but the colors did it. The sorting was sensual and sensational but Tobyn sharing that vision blew me away. I’m taking a break on my binge just to let all that love settle in my head. Beautiful!
  24. The sheer complexity of this is captivating.
