  1. This is based on prompt #144: Describe your favorite place in summer. Make us feel it.
  2. I did make them pretty awful, didn’t I?

    Chapter 16

It appears our heroes will need a supernatural solution. Did they bring their Genie's bottle? I never go anywhere without mine. Oh, wait. That's my American Express card. Never mind.

    Chapter 45 S2

I’ll say blizzard. I've already got hurricane covered, however unlikely that would be in Colorado.

    Chapter 45 S2

Well, they don’t have a TV themselves, but MTV still is a thing. Just not all music videos. Was this chapter the calm before the storm?
  6. Thanks for the excellent. I chose Corpus based on my initial research for cities with only 25,000 people. Kingsville is a suburb of Corpus Christi. It being on the coast was a convenient coincidence and actually helped me determine what Peter's skill would be. FYI, referring to the city as Corpus is apparently how the locals do it, so I jumped on that bandwagon. No, I haven't had to deal with a severe hurricane. I'm pretty far inland, about an hour north of Atlanta. Heavy rains and moderately high winds are all I've seen so far.
  7. Well, this is fiction, and science fiction at that, taking place thirty years in the future. Clamoring is right. But will he leave, will he stay? Who knows? Oh, wait. I do. And @Sherye Story Reader, my Beta Reader.
  8. With all the drugs that come through there, Hell’s waiting room might be more accurate.
  9. Oh, you can’t imagine how much I’d love to be 40 again.
  10. It did, although I’m not sure I made that obvious. I’ll have to check chapter 3 before it goes live Thursday morning.
  11. At the moment and seemingly a couple times every year. I’ve been in Georgia for 7+ years. I don’t miss the snow from 20 years in PA, and 37 in NJ.
  12. All too true.
  13. Of course. You don't really want me to use my imagination, do you? Your friend may retroactively be arrested for use of excessive sarcasm. A similar thing happened to me. My older daughter was probably eight or ten. The local station came to the town park asking kids and their parents what they thought about Sesame Street dropping Cookie Monster. Unfortunately, it did air our segment. What a dork I was.

    In The End

Awesome. I'll have to take a look at that one when I finish the rest of the parts. I wouldn't want Robin's MC's psionic ideas to sway my character's abilities.
  15. I sure can make them twisted. These might have been my nastiest antagonists. Although I think Uncle Marco from 'Don't Blame the Band' is right there in the world of nastiness.
  16. It definitely ends up a long way from where it started, and not just geographically.
  17. No worries. And I just checked, there are actually 5 stories on the site that are longer than all of mine put together. Three are over a million words. That's a minimum 4,000-page book if it were published on paper.
  18. Wow. Thanks. I try to add a little of a lot of things to help keep it interesting. Since you just finished this one, you should probably go right to the sequel: The Taft Family’s Before and After. May as well get the other sides of the story. I happened to like doing that, so I'm in the middle of the third of five parts of another series, again, different views of each of the main character's family. Part 1 is 'The Black Aura.'
  19. I'm pretty sure I've seen some comments from you, so don't hide so deep you get lost.
  20. You don't really want me to answer that, do you? Okay, I will. It's in chapter three. Hehe.
  21. Um. Maybe you'll want to skip the first part of chapter 3 😁
  22. The night is calling, I have to go The wolf is hungry, he runs the show He's licking his lips, he's ready to win On the hunt tonight for love at first sting Here I am Rock you like a hurricane Scorpions - 1984 4 Tony drove up route 35 until we hit the town limits. At that point, I hoped one of them knew where we could go, "Do either of you know anything about the area? Because I sure don't." "Nope." "Same here." "Okay, let's just go through once on the man d
  23. Glad you found and enjoyed this. There’s plenty more to read. I’m working on story #29, and have 725,000 words here. I hope you like what you find and read next as well.

    Chapter 11

A very nice ending. And they all lived happily ever after. Until they didn’t. And I think your Beta Reader misses a big one for you. I’ve noticed this in your comments too: This should be “their brothers.” I know it’s picky, but I think as a fellow writer, you’ll appreciate the hint to make your writing better. As homonyms, the words there, their, and they're are all pronounced exactly the same but have different and distinct meanings. There means “at that place” and is used to talk about a specific location. Their indicates ownership and is the possessive form of they.
  25. I think Peter’s story will get more interesting, and mom? Well, who knows?
