Maybe it’s me, but Jonah’s good memory of his sperm donor was getting a cookie? And I bet that interaction happened before he had any suspicions his son may be part of the “fruit basket.” That man needed serious help. No wonder Jonah hates him. It’s almost too bad he died, he deserved more suffering.

@irivera, as a fellow writer, I agree with the others, definitely post your short story at some point. When we have something to share, we share it. You’re a good writer and story teller. Folks here always want more of that. It’s not here, but I found a way to put a short piece I wrote a few years back for a worth contest into one of my stories. I made it a writing assignment for a high school character. Jonah is an artist, but maybe one of the trips could be the author of your other piece if it’s not too long.

Oh, one aside. Typically Francis is the masculine version and Frances the feminine version of the name. My older daughter’s middle name is Frances, as was her great-grandmother’s.

I believe child services has a mind of its own and logic is not present. A better chapter for Jonah. I hope there’s a reconnect with James in his future. Something tells me James the elder will search for James the younger.

Perhaps not the best word to describe such a store, but it obviously made the point. It could have been worse, like Alabama or West Virginia. Or any of the states without a large city: According to available data, states like Delaware, Maine, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming are considered to have the "smallest largest cities" as they each lack a city with a population exceeding 100,000, meaning their largest city is comparatively small compared to other states. -
