  1. Thanks. So happy it was enjoyed.
  2. At least it wasn’t right after eye surgery this time. Not sure how long you’ll have to wait. Only 2 chapters drafted and I haven’t checked with all my editors/readers about that one.
  3. Hmmm. Someone to take her place. Peter and Madeline both adopted, but Avery Jr.’s children are their own. I wonder…
  4. Thanks for the comments. Had a family situation come up this weekend. But I went ahead and published as scheduled. I’ll respond to the comments soon as I recover from a 2-day drive, round trip from Georgia to Pennsylvania, and loading a truck in the middle.
  5. Sometimes in our lives We all have pain We all have sorrow But if we are wise We know that there's always tomorrow Lean on me When you're not strong And I'll be your friend I'll help you carry on Bill Withers - 1972 19 Rose was getting calls from all over. By the end of the day, she had twelve potential blast phase patients and countless others she had to find a nice way to say sorry to. She passed the information on to Dr. Brennan who took a day to thoroughl

    Chapter 4

It’ll be a week to ten days, based on the dates chapters have been posted. I hope that’s not too late for Neil. 😃
  7. Pretty much what happened to me. Didn’t think it posted, so I posted it again. You’re not alone in the idiot corner.

    Chapter 4

What a mess. I’m jealous, it’s worse than my stories get.
  9. Old is only a state of mind.
  10. Baby boomers in the woods, maybe. I mean Gen X, Millennials. Not sure about you, but even I'm too young to have seen anything starring Errol while he was still alive, being born just under a year after he died.
  11. Errol. Nice. I wonder if my younger readers will get the “joke.” Thanks for the “great chapter.”
  12. It was definitely from a reputable site, don’t remember now exactly where.
  13. I actually had considered a move to St. Jude, but their work is too important to fictionalized in any way.
  14. Brennan decided to start with 3, with a day between. We’ll soon see how well that worked. Or not.
  15. Damn, why didn’t I think of that?
  16. I missed a golden opportunity song-wise. Lay your hands on me by Bon Jovi.
  17. I missed a golden opportunity song-wise. Lay your hands on me by Bon Jovi.
  18. But it’s easier to charge a lot extra for a $10,000 procedure than a few hundred dollar extended office visit. Good thing I didn’t really cover the insurance aspect.
  19. That and a lot more boring from the story’s perspective.
  20. I have to have at least one asshole in every story. Very simple, just the fee for an extended office visit. With a Dx of Leukemia, the insurance company were left unawares. Uncle Marco would have been there, but he was still serving his life sentence.
  21. There are no plans to have her inundated beyond what's reasonable. Google's AI response to the question "is blast phase leukemia always terminal?"
  22. Sunday, along with everyone else. Hehe.
  23. Not quite as bad as you think. My comment from chapter 3: I don't remember where I found that, but I remember seeing that about 5% of patients are blast patients. More than she could possibly handle, but even the blast phase isn't a guaranteed death sentence. The survival rates go up every year.
  24. Probably not all of those patients will hear about her skill. I'm not expecting her to be overrun, just very busy. More on this in chapter 7.
  25. Chapter 6 - Unexpected Publicity The Good Book says it's better to give than to receive I do my best to do my part Nothin' in my pockets, I got nothin' up my sleeve I keep my magic in my heart Keep up your spirit, keep up your faith, baby I am counting on you You know what you've got to do Fight the good fight every moment Every minute, every day Fight the good fight every moment It's your only way Triumph - 1981 16 Madeline drove up to the hospital the
