6-5-4, Virgil Doesn't Want a Party

She may have given me a few story ideas, but the nastiness and demented characters are all me. -

That is left up to the reader's imagination in this story. Once incarcerated, Willie and Davey are forgotten. Unfortunately, too true. I took Italian as my language elective in high school, 2 years IIRC, but most of it is gone. Any Italian here was provided by Dr. Google. And yes, the real person behind Lee Wilson is 3/4 Italian, although not according to ancestry dot com. I like to say I have a quart of Scotch in me as well, even though I won't drink the corresponding liquor. -
I’m surprised any of them can still stand up after all that. Even younger, I’d have been wiped out way before the Double Shoshone. Fun chapter though!

Pool, a Fool, and Home/Away School

Yes, Pete and Alex would have been good even without Michael’s heads up. Leon is indeed very protective of Stephen, we’ll see a couple more examples of that in future chapters. -
Excellent way to bring them together. Now some unsolicited advice. I would mark this story as complete because it ends one journey. Book 2, when you can get to it, will be another journey the four boys take together. I’m including Danny and Naiche if it wasn’t obvious. This accomplishes at least two things. Your readers who are so inclined can provide reviews, all 5 star I would venture to guess. Secondly, it breaks you free from the pressures of completing a story. Starting a new one is always a rush for me. I’ve done a few “book 2s,” ( not to mention a 3, 4, and 5). It being ”new” can provide a breath of fresh air, so to speak, and make its writing easier. Ignore my rudeness or overstepping if you desire, I won’t be hurt.

Since it isn’t @weinerdog doing the hoping, your wish is my command! Heehee -
Ok, so a flashback before the re-meet. You really know how to prolong the pins and needles “agony.”

Clearing new hurdles every day. Now that they’ve re-met, another hurdle appears.

Indeed. -
OK, I can deal with Thank God I’m A Country Boy. But I’ll never be old MacDonald. Farming, even just hay, sounds like too much manual labor for me. Hell, I struggle just to mow the lawn. When I had a bigger, flatter lawn, I had a riding mower. I’d kill myself on the hills on my lawn now with a rider.

Wildcat for sure. Jaguar, to be specific. -

Yeah, I’ve done that a couple times. Bobby will recover. And you know how I treat the bad guys. Although, this actually being the first story, I was pretty tame. -
Michael knows how Jeff is and can take whatever is thrown at him Unfortunately for Jeff, most of what he throws bounces right back at him, as you'll soon learn.

Things have been back to normal for a while, it's a little over a week after Sam's birthday before much happened. Let's take a look at what's going on now. Scott Another boring day at school is over, I get on the bus and take my usual seat because Virgil isn't there yet. As he's getting on the bus, Becky Lewis asks me if it's OK if she sits with me. I say OK. Virgil gives me a questioning look. All I can do is shrug my shoulders and wait to see what she wants. "You hang out a lot

I think you explained it sufficiently in your previous comment. Borrowing a single name from another’s work would be a stretch to call it plagiarism. Think of all the lawsuits the first person to use John Smith in a book could file!

We knew the meeting had to come. Too bad I’m already up waaaaaay too late. I’ll have to finish my binge read tomor… Oh wait, it is tomorrow. Later today.

I always thought that was a dwarf capability. A nod to Christopher Paolini’s Eragon, I assume? I echo @Sherye Story Reader’s comment about dragons. I have a handful of dragons and knights from Medieval Times. And a tattoo that is part dragon. And obviously caught the reference to Saphira.

It wouldn’t make a lot of sense to have two disparate stories about two young men if their paths were never to cross, aside from the short interval in Dakota’s class. One story about just Dakota and another about just Connor makes sense if they never hook up. The fact that we’re learning about both Art essentially the same time almost guarantees they’ll get together.
-
So I’m going out on a limb here and suppose that Dakota and Naiche are two missing members of the pack.
-
I’ll speculate on the under-scent and why the Jaguar is so hard to locate. The scent is the jaguars human scent because it’s a shifter too. I hope I find out if I’m right before the “last” chapter.
-
I know so little about shapeshifters, I’ll just take all of that at face value and focus on the story in general. My limited SS exposure is that they can shift into anything, being limited to one animal seems, I don’t know, unrealistic. Um, more unrealistic than there being shapeshifters at all.
-
Definitely was another living body in the trailer. Now, what exactly might be their secret?
-
Really? A human that becomes a wolf. Sounds like a werewolf to me. Just because it doesn’t happen because of a full moon?
-
Moving faster, just like Connor’s puberty. It’s a good thing Danny didn’t wake up when he got splattered.
