For somebody, but for me

Now that I left a review, I can make a comment here. This story made me really sad. Whenever some story finishes with separation, some sort of hope for reunion stays, at least in my imagination. But death is ultimate end. As Shakespeare says the rest is silence. There is no possibility for reconciliation, for kind words of love, for support and understanding. There is just endless emptiness. And what now? Robert has been so selfish and self-centered all his life. Jamie is gone and the scar will stay in Robert's heart. There is no worse executor than time. There is no possibility to change the wheels of time backwards. How to make peace with himself? If there is some redemption for Robert, it is written in those last lines of the story. The past cannot be changed, but the future is for us to determine. Robert is going to reunite with his family and embrace Ed as part of his late brother.

The message this wonderful short story is giving is that life is too short to spend it estranged from friends and family. We never know when someone's doomed day is, so, spend every day, every hour, every moment...sharing love and support with your dearest. And say it, say how you feel, say you love them because, if you think they already know - they don't! Don't be afraid to say, "I love you", don't be afraid to say, "I'm sorry", find some free time for your family, cherish your little traditions, family gatherings during holidays, phone calls, emails... Stay in touch. Don't let everyday life make you strangers. Memories stays in our hearts forever but regrets also. Thank you for this beautiful story @Parker Owens I am deeply touched.

Author explores the deepness of human mind, confronted emotions, fears, passion, love, faith… Chemistry between two main characters is incredible, they influence each other on so many levels. Andy, the priest, finds the way to accept himself the way God has made him, and Marcus, artist and sort of a playboy, finds the way to true love. Their relationship has been beautifully developed, with some of the best described, sensual and realistic love making scenes. I have discovered this author on other site, and, as I can see, she is not active for a long time. I would like to leave this review as support if @Hudson Bartholomew decides to share some more of her remarkable talent with us.

Asa's death and Caleb's redemption in ultimate sacrifice of his mate, followed by reunion with his son, would have been the best literature @kbois ever wrote. It would have been the level of the antient Greek tragedy. But we don't want Sophocles!!! Please...
