sagacity - (n) - the quality of being sagacious This is unusual for @Myr and an example of straying into the mire of defining a word in terms of itself; a circular definition. Not very sagacious.

Holiday weekend coming soon, @RoyKing. Daniel is receiving appropriate treatment and lots of support.

Thanks @Lynx003. Yes the notebook is helping the police by providing additional information. Horse is still on the run. I'm pleased that you are enjoying the story.
-
More in the next chapter @Flip-Flop. Dan is now in good hands.
-
Thank you @Ticklishboy30

I'm with you @Summerabbacat, I wouldn't feel sorry for anything nasty happening to Uncle Phil. Daniel is now surrounded with support and monitoring.
-
More coming @Mark Ponyboy Peters. Spanner? Hmm maybe.
-
You're right @chris191070. The notebook has more details about what was happening.

A sweet charming start to this thanksgiving story. I'm looking forward to Alex and Casey being thankful for more loving tickles.

I suspect @wildone that we are of similar ages. I would regard us as unique, not antique.

The next morning Jordan went to check on Daniel and Joshua. He found both sound asleep in Daniel’s bed. Without disturbing them he retreated to the kitchen and started making coffee as a prelude to breakfast. Cameron, already showered and dressed for work, was next to join him in the kitchen. “I woke and you weren’t in bed. What are you up to” And don’t just say ‘making breakfast’. I know you better than that.” Jordan lent over and kissed Cameron, “If you must know I wanted to

Of course we also have the noun voucher, which is something we all like to receive either physically or digitally at this time of the year. It's use is similar to the Old French to summon or to call (Thanks @Bill W), in that a modern voucher is a summons or a call to the supplier of the voucher to provide the value stated on the voucher, usually some form of discount.

The Message in the Rock
Paladin commented on Laura S. Fox's story chapter in The Message in the Rock
Just as they could only read the runes while physically connected, they will only be able to go beyond the veil and find Theo's pack by the three of them being "connected". Will Theo be able to wait until he finds his pack before their final physical connection?- 15 comments

I agree. I only hear it in relation to antique furniture, such as on Antiques Roadshow.

In Australia we have the Bureau of Meteorology, which as you would expect provides our weather forecasts. Their web address is www.bom.gov.au and, much to the annoyance of the Bureau, they are referred to simply as Bom. An interesting twist is that the Bureau recently launched a new website which is very unpopular and regarded, by a lot of Aussies, to be a bomb.

An interesting thought @andy cannon. I don't know the geography of Canada and how far apart the two dams are, or if Radisson is between the two dams. What if it is the base for people who maintain and operate both dams?

abandonment - Word of the Day - Thu Nov 20, 2025
Paladin commented on Myr's blog entry in Writing World
Abandonment is how the incomplete next chapter of my story feels towards me. -
The short novel the movie is based on is brilliant and chilling. A recommended read.

Don't worry @Summerabbacat, I'll add to your knowledge bank. The reason we have have juries of twelve goes back to the last supper which totaled 13. The concept was that 12 jurors plus a judge, representing Christ and the 12 disciple, would determine the fate of the accused.

When Rick looked at the body it was wearing trousers and he didn't indicate there was anything strange about that, but the autopsy suggested he was stabbed while having anal sex. A bit hard without at least lowering your trousers. So what do we have? Alexis was having anal sex with someone who stabs him to death. The murderer then pulls Alexis' trousers back up to look normal (leaved Alexis' wallet etc in a pocket) and then dumps the body in the harbour. Hmm Unless more than one person is involved we can assume the murder took place in a gay beat close to the harbour. More worryingly is that the murderer is someone who gets off sexually by murdering gay men.

I tend to agree that Martin's murder was similar to Alexis' murder. Helen knew this, so she has checked the file on Martin's murder. The use of the Celtic cross is not confined to one Catholic school but the same modus operandi used in cities 150km apart raises questions, including have there been any similar murders between Martin's murder and this one? What does this mean: Everyone I had ever loved or cared for wound up having something happen to them. There seems to be more in Rick's history of relationships than we know.

Alex's eyes locked with Brian's. In that terrifying, silent moment, he saw it all: the guilt, the raw, profound fear, and the terrible, grim resignation. Brian hadn't just known about the helicopter. He had led them here, to this exact spot, to find this piece of evidence, to draw Alex into the only truth he could not deny. He had staged this discovery. This was the mission. Why do I smell CSIS?

What is Brian up to? If he hasn't told Alex, he hasn't told Steve and Kenny. The Wolf is at the dam and Brian was leading his friends into what danger? Although Alex now suspects something, we don't know how prepared he is. Looks like the giraffe has stuck his neck out.

OK. A great action filled chase story as two sides seek the same thing. In this case the formula. However, the love story seems to come to an end, with Alex free in another country and Brian in the clutches of the CSIS. @Topher Lydon has pulled another trick. We were given cliffhanger chapters and now we have a cliffhanger story. What happens between Brian and Alex? Even his teaser in Chapter 19 only mentions Steve and Kenny. No reference to Brian. Grrrr!

I'm with those who believe the "two cops" are real cops. When you are considering the world of gay street prostitution with pimps not all cops are straight, as in clean and honest. Without going into details there was a time when I witnessed Vice Squad detectives regularly visit a brothel owning madam for their weekly payment.
