Preston again raises the possibility of them being shapeshifters. He did it before and at that time he seemed happy for the idea to be dismissed. But he still mentions it again. Hmmm Colour me suspicious.

In the prologue comments @Topher Lydon commented: Three broken boys, each suffering, having to rely upon each other. They go looking for a car and what do they end up with? A broken prototype that has suffered. Now they'll be reconstructing a car as well as themselves.

Peter's arrival has brought with it the suggestion of change, but I don't see change coming easily with these three.

I agree with Steve's view of Dr Who and the early baker stuff working because of the chaos. From memory at one time he installed a poker machine type control in the TARDIS that randomly chose a time/space coordinate. Unpredictable chaos. Why does that remind me of someone? BTW will we witness Steve and Kenny's wedding 🤞🙏

Give a man enough rope and he'll hang himself. Tarquin wove his own rope of abuse, control, manipulation, corruption, forgery, fraud and theft. Once exposed it was more than enough to hang him, and no one's sorry.

Where I am in Aussieland, and away from the polar vortexes, warmth is a daily expectation. Another type of warmth has been demonstrated in the response to the death, in the last couple of days, of an elderly member of our extended family.

Thanks @Summerabbacat. There are too many loose ends for this chapters to be the end. Besides the epilogue would be long and messy. Think of it as a baton change to the now more appropriate characters.

I'm pleased that this chapter caught and held you attention. I admit the idea of a time traveler suddenly appearing in the passenger seat on a rural road appealed to me. I love Ryan's mum.

Thanks for reading and commenting @Bill W. We don't have Denny's here in Aussie land and didn't visit one when in USA, so I'm a Dennys' virgin. The turkeys (frozen and live) were in the cargo hold, not in the kitchen stores. Rowan as Load Master, knows knows what cargo they have, but not the other crew. I'm pleased you enjoyed the story.

Ah I missed the reference. Scotty was one of the characters I loved in the original Star Trek but he was far more competent than Randy.

I know where you are coming from @Davide. I had to give a lot of thought about whether to include Adam speaking to Jordan and Joshua back in part 1. There I left it as maybe real or maybe they imagined it. Here I decided to make it more real as it marks the departure of Adam as an influence in the story. I'm pleased that you still enjoyed the story.

A good point @Davide. Joshua and Daniel need to be comfortable with sex being a normal expression of love. Being able to ask questions is important in developing that comfort.
