  1. You will meet the eldest son in the next chapter.
  2. In Sydney in the 1950-s. 1960s and early 1970s the Queen of etiquette, poise and deportment was June Dally-Watkins. At her school of deportment for young ladies aspiring to be models or socially competent, she taught poise by requiring her students to practise walking with either a volume of an encyclopedia or a copy of the Sydney phone book balanced on their heads.
  3. Thanks @Flip-Flop. Stay tuned for what happens next.
  4. @drsawzall. This is fiction but not far from reality.
  5. Some of your speculation @Summerabbacat is relevant to the story, but to say which would be a spoiler. 😉
  6. Moving from Adelaide to Sydney certainly is a commitment. Change of city and change of state. Nathan has only just committed to his move. Mark has strong reasons for moving. Liam's love of Mark is his commitment. Let's hope it all goes well.
  7. They have access to the resources and are prepared to use them to provide help.
  8. Liam and more so Mark are receiving help dealing with their turmoil.
  9. Rick and Champagne - the more the merrier! Plenty of action in Adelaide coming up.
  10. Mark and Liam won't be permanent additions to the inner circle of six. Nathan is close to finding out.
  11. Because the weather in Sydney was cool, both Martin and Nathan would have preferred to sleep late and then stay in bed enjoying each other. It wasn’t to be. They needed to meet Liam at the clinic by ten. They exited their parked car and walked towards the main doors of the office building. Liam and another man, stepped out of another car and walked towards Martin and Nathan. Liam held out his hand to Martin. They shook. “Hi Martin, it’s great to catch up again and thanks for slotting m

    Chapter 23

So Levi needs assessing for likely concussion.

    Chapter 23

The big questions here are how did Levi get back to the house, and how did Matt's car keys end up hanging, not on any hook but, on the hook exactly where they always hung? So who knows the house well enough to know where the car keys are kept? And just as importantly, why?
  14. I've worked in places where people appear for a short time, do not stay permanent and leave. Often in management!
  15. I know that the weather at present is not conductive to early rising and, as an essayist I studied at school (Name forgotten) commented, "the only perfect climate is bed" so wanting to stay in bed longer is . . . . . understandable at any age, but I fear @Summerabbacat that your cats have conditioned you into staying in bed longer so they can continue to sleep and enjoy your body warmth. 😸

    Chapter 21

Bayview, where Tony and Aaron and their family lived Does this mean that Aaron's brother Zack is still with them and I suppose Tony's sister and her girlfriend, who I think were pregnant last time we saw them, could still be there. And then there's Mike and Carol. Are they still together? Looks like enough material for another story.

    Chapter 21

I'm continuing to have an open mind regarding Casey. But If we hang out . . . it has to be, you know, on the down-low. Really? In a town the size of Thompsonville! Good luck with that. The last time we had a boy drawn between a his feelings for a girl and his feelings for a boy the result was . . . . . . . . Levi. Matt and Levi need to have a long talk.
  18. Thanks @dboggs9700. Hugo will be involved for a bit more. I won't enter the murky controversy around Australian university funding and the funding and repayment of student university debt called HESC. However you are right about Justin. Like Nathan he wants to be independent and not living off his rich partner.
  19. I'm sure @Ticklishboy30 you haven't forgotten Benjamin and Justin as awesome adolescents. All the adolescents are showing that the younger generation can be more understanding and accepting than their parents. Turmoil in Adelaide! The City of Churches! Really @Ticklishboy30, how could you think such a thing?
  20. I hadn't considered Hugo being a Jack Russell pup until you mentioned it @Summerabbacat, but it is so apt. He is young, excitable, impulsive and doting on his new friend Nathan while seeing the relationship as mutually beneficial; Can I call you Uncle Nathan? I agree that Rick at dinner without a bottle of champagne is a surprise, however Nathan was offering quality Australian wine. Like you I would always welcome a visit from Rick and more so when accompanied by his signature bottle.
  21. It did seem that Hugo trampled over the best laid plans of mice and men but all in the best possible way. He certainly broke the ice. but no one ended up in icy water. It will be interesting to see how Nathan's family react and why.
  22. Sunday morning was "sleep in" time and Martin and Nathan were taking full advantage of sleeping in, so it was about 8am when then they heard a light knock on their half open bedroom door. Martin looked vaguely in the direction of the door and mumbled "come in". The boys wearing only boxer shorts entered the room and as Benjamin moved to Nathan's side of the bed Justin moved to Martin's side. They both slid under the covers and into bed with their dads. Martin and Nathan were surprised

    Chapter 20

Nah, at that time I was living in Sydney, hence the location of my driving lessons. It was much later that I moved to the Central Coast. And yes, at that time Elvis was a popular sensation in Sydney, much to my parents' disgust. Of course every year he continues to be a sensation in Parkes.
