    I've noticed that when the events in a story are calm readers often comment in terms of the calm before the storm. Patience is required while waiting for the story to reveal all.

    Sex education has to be age appropriate and geared to what the child wants to know and needs to know. I love the story of the boy in about Grade 2 who rushes up to his mum after school and asks "Where did I come from?" Mum thinks OK this is where I start the sex talks and launches into what she thinks he needs to know. When she's finished she looks at her confused son and asks, "Is that what you wanted to know?" Her son looks at her. "I'm not sure. It's just that a new boy started at school today and said he came from Canada, so i wondered where I came from.

    It was the catalyst for Justin asking Martin if he could call him 'dad'. That was when both Justin and Benjamin started calling both Martin and Nathan, 'dad'.

    True @Summerabbacat I didn't properly introduce Hamish. At the dinner where Maria announced she would be living with Lachlan the following year, Hamish was mentioned as capable of running the business. He is Lachlan's brother. Calling Martin, Uncle Martin, could be courtesy or acknowledging a family connection through Maria. Remember Maria calls Lachlan's parents "mum" and "dad".

    Yes @Flip-Flop they seem to have contained the Turmoil faced by Mark and Liam. They seem to be getting better at dealing with turmoil, but that doesn't stop there being more turmoil. Meanwhile, they are getting on with their lives.
