Jolanda is used to getting what she wants. Conflict is possible.
-
Ha ha 😁 There may be other characters coming into the picture as well. Romance is coming, but not yet.
-
@akascrubber It will be some time before the plans of Zal and his partners become clear. You may have noticed that in chapter 7 (the interlude) there was a certain Zaltarim Fizol. Hmm...🙂 @drsawzall The boys are on a very slippery slope with their explanations. The situation does not look good for them 😬 By the way, Krahh is a female. The name doesn't sound very feminine, though. We'll hear more about this bird as the story progresses ☺️

Apologies that it took a little longer than usual for this chapter. Translation is slow work and I've been busier than usual lately. The week starting now is also busy, so you'll have to wait a bit longer for the next chapter too 🙁

"What is left of the nations that were ruling in the Age before the Oblivion? Only wind-swept crumbs - relics that have been dug out of the sand or drowned by the centuries, barely withstanding the ravages of time. Written sources were either not preserved or were purposely destroyed in the decades that followed the Oblivion. So few people survived, and even fewer wanted to remember what had been wiped out. Their children were left with a scorched earth where no grain germinated and no gras

Jolanda is Isendar Vargan's blind spot. Vargan, on the other hand, was also absolutely right when he said, "These days there are other hunters than the Shadow Cross." Things are starting to get tense.
-
@akascrubber Thank you for your comment. In the next chapter, we'll find out what happened to the boys and much more ☺️

Isendar Paidos, Andiol Empire Isendar Vargan took a few aimless steps across the floor of his large study before pausing to look out the window framed by thick velvet curtains. As he did so, he stroked his long black hair. It felt greasy, but he didn't care. The man staring out the window was impatient for news. The hair didn't matter, the news did. The six-paned window offered only the garden, not the vital information he was feverishly awaiting. But at such moments Isendar had a ha

Let's not rush😁 Josel has his bad moods and is not so quick to correct his view of another person. Veilwood is big and the pond is so small that it unfortunately doesn't show up on their map. However, I made a map of the Veilwood area on my own: @akascrubber In the next chapter there will be more answers to the question of whether the boys are safe - or indeed, there are two narrators, so there is another point of view character before Josel.

Josel "Josel, stay at home. Curtus and I will come and get you. If you do not hear from us by morning, find baker Mommes in Little Street and tell him my name. He is reliable. If Paidos is not safe, travel to Ipalos and visit Marta Donthav, whom I know from before. She is living in the Merchant's District; you cannot miss the big yellow house. Destroy the message as soon as you have read it. With love, Andreuz." "It's from your father, huh? What does it say?" Zdain wonde

One way or another, the paths of all the characters in the story will cross. I also think that a pretty girl is always necessary in stories 😏
-
Thank you for your comment😊Yes, there are more of these new layers being built. As I recall, there are 27 or 28 chapters in this first book, so there is still a lot to come. I also think you're right: the plan for Danae is not going to work out quite as Aunt Anibella intended.

Danae Naldau, Grand Duchy of Malkania Danae Dannkas nodded approvingly to the maid who had just finished doing her hair. She uttered a polite thank you, then sent the maid on her way, nodding again to her reflection for reassurance. The maid had done a first-rate job, especially remembering that Danae's hair was not the easiest to comb. Shoulder-length blonde hair tended to bend into defiant waves, which required precision and willpower to style into the latest trend in Naldau's high

Unfortunately, I can't answer that because I don't want to spoil the fun😄 However, the story is only at the very beginning: there will be many plot twists, new characters and dangerous situations🤠
-
Thanks for the comment. Those are relevant questions. There is more to come, but in the next chapter, the point of view character will change.
-
Apologies for the delay in publishing the new chapter. It was actually ready on Tuesday, but I had technical problems with the moderation queue - probably due to my own clumsiness 😔 I hope you enjoyed this chapter anyway. At least now Jolanda's background is revealed.😶

"Somewhere far away, at the end of the world, lies the Bewitched Land. There, the sun never rises, and the moon sheds no light. It is the dark land of the dreaders. Whoever finds the Bewitched Land finds death as well. Thus not a soul can tell us about this place, gruesome and mean." - The Chronicle of Cedne Usvamieli, A Poem About The Dreaders, compiled around 150 New Era * * * Josel Nothing could be done, but Josel remained kneeling on the road, staring at the body in

Let's just say that the appearance of a monster like the dreader on a road near Paidos is hardly a coincidence 😶

You are right. I personally like epic fantasy - even without the gay romance. But when you add a gay theme, I like them even more. Since quite a few fantasy novels have that, I decided to write my own story 🙂
-
@Al Norris Yes. I think you were right about Shadow Cross 😄
-
I fear that Josel is in for many rude awakenings in this story. It does not help, that he is still a little naive for his age and rather stubborn by nature.
-
@Al Norris Thank you for your comment! I guess as the story goes further, we'll find out if your hunch about the Shadow Cross is correct 🙂
-
@akascrubber Thank you for your comment. This chapter is a prelude to subsequent events that will also strongly affect Josel and partners. In the next chapter, we are back with Josel and Zdain.

"It was not the usual darkness. No, there was something wrong, something accursed. The sleeping beast had awoken. With pain and death it crossed the land. Again and again you raided against the night and again and again it tore you apart. The world was burning and the world was drowning. And above all this was a red glow. Red is the colour of blood. Black is the colour of the devil. Black and red, together they bring death. It was called the Age of Oblivion." - Chronicle of N

The next chapter is in the moderation queue, but a technical problem has arisen which needs to be resolved by the admins. Only then will I be able to publish the chapter. Sorry for the delay.
