Another very good and interesting chapter, but I missed Luke. Too bad Jackson didn't kick the shit out of the Townson brothers. Maybe he'll get the chance at some point😎 Interesting to see how different and much more shy Jackson is when he's in such a strange environment and not surrounded by his friends.

Yeah, many people seem to be ignoring the signs that the Darkness is rising. Zal seems to be quite alone. There is still much to discover as the main plot slowly unfolds.

I still think that Jackson is a very well created character. Precisely because he is realistic and not a sugar candy. I remember a bit of what it was like to be a teenage boy myself: I kind of knew what to do or say in different situations, but I still didn't often do the right thing - especially when my friends were around. 😳

That's true. Josel is surrounded by strange people who won't even tell him things that affect him. On top of that, he's worried about Zdain. No wonder it's not easy for Josel to stay in a good mood 😕

Josel The atmosphere in the Maidor guest harbour was completely different from the chaos of Ipalos, which they had left behind when they jumped aboard the Princess. I think it was the second time Jackson had refused money offered by his parents. It says a lot about their relationship. Jackson's parents have tried to compensate for their constant absence with material things. No wonder the boy wants to rebel. Luke finds himself in the opposite situation: an oppressive mother who gives her almost adult son no freedom. And no decent friends. A very interesting setting. You do a very good job of describing the relationships and mindsets of these main characters. Jackson and Luke clearly need each other, but how soon they will realise it - we don't know yet. For some reason, at least, they are constantly drawn to each other, even though Jackson tries to tell himself that he is not interested in Luke at all 😃

This story begins in a very interesting way. You managed to grab my attention right away. Contrary to what some other readers think, I think Jackson is a very compelling character right from the start. Yes, he is childish and selfish, but that is what makes it interesting that the main character is not perfect from the start. Even though Jackson is not an easy person, for some reason Luke wants to spend time with him. And for some reason, Luke's mother doesn't like it. Hmm, I wonder if someone has a crush 🤭

This was a very well written story that put me in a good mood😊 I would have liked to have stayed with Kieron and Derek for a bit longer, but on the other hand the story ended at just the right point.

@drsawzall It's only good if Josel's personality also causes irritation. He's not supposed to be the nicest guy in the world, nor the golden boy that he and his friends see him as. Also, I've always been bothered by stories where teenagers are like superheroes and solve all the problems that come their way.

@drsawzall Josel is quite tempestuous by nature, there's not much we can do about that 😃 True, he's a bit spoiled too - being an only child. He'll grow out of it, but I understand him. It's not nice when the adults around him don't seem to trust him or tell him enough. As @akascrubber said, Zal "carefully revealed only limited news to Josel."

You are right. The boys are young, but they have to go through a lot. Who you can trust is an important theme in this story.
