    Chapter 2

@akascrubber True. Rezak is indeed a cruel man. Yet of all the villains in the story, he is not the worst.
  2. Lupus

    Chapter 2

@Seraph28 Thank you for your comment😊 We will see later if Dareis and Elyssa ever learn how to treat Venr and Zdain better. As you might have guessed, this contact with the republicans is relevant to the overall plot. On the other hand, Rezak's actions follow the teachings of his mentor, Cors, who was one of the Brotherhood's traitors. This does not bode well for Andiol's future either.😬
  3. Lupus

    Chapter 2

Whether or not Rezak and Monteilon succeed in their intrigue is another matter. They are in dangerous territory.💀
  4. Rezak Dimalos, Andiol Empire "Sir, my parents... they have arrived," Second Lieutenant Venr Monteilon announced as he entered the office of the commander of the Imperial Army. Rezak Vondau stared coldly ahead, letting the lower-ranking soldier endure the stance for a respectable amount of time. "Very well, order them in," he finally said. He had already given his consent, when the adjutant had asked to introduce his parents to his superior. Second Lieutenant Monteilon had undoub

    Black Swans

This was a well-written story that made the reader pause and reflect on life.

    Chapter 1

@VBlew @drsawzall Yes, it might help Zdain if he talked openly with Josel. If he doesn't, it could easily lead to trouble. When we find out what Danae and Andreuz talked about in a few chapters, we will also find out if she is going to reveal her findings to Josel. Danae shouldn't play with the boys' emotions. It could have unfortunate consequences.😬

    Chapter 1

@akascrubber Right. This can easily turn into a mess.🤞
  8. Lupus

    Chapter 1

Thank you for your kind words.😊 This first chapter was indeed very much focused on group dynamics. I think it is natural that teenagers think more about their relationships with each other than about world events, although they should certainly be concerned about the situation. I'm glad you asked. I'm going to maintain the same publishing schedule, with a new chapter released every Thursday. There may sometimes be a delay due to other commitments, though. But I'll try!☺️

    Epilogue

FYI: I have now started publishing the third part of the story:
  10. The young heroes leave Five Hills behind, embarking on a journey to the distant Misty Isles to uncover the red comet's secret. Their guide, the charming yet treacherous Renn Tauganei, harbors dark intentions. Meanwhile, Franz's adventure in Eastern Andiol takes an unexpected turn, the Monteilons seek power in Dimalos, and the vengeful Jolanda makes an irreversible choice. Behind the scenes, Marshal General Vondau weaves his own web of intrigue. In the end, many will realize how weak one person is when the Darkness rises - first it encircles its victims, then it strikes without mercy. The death offered by the Darkness is never easy.
  11. Lullaby-loo. The day grows dim, nighttime whispers, soft and slim. Good little children hurry away, as shadows stretch and dance and sway. Lullaby-loo. It's time for sleep, close your eyes, let dreams run deep. The flare flickers, the hearth-bird sighs, while only a fiend-wing stirs the skies. Lullaby-loo. But hush - beware, for if you peek beyond night's glare, the black-cloaked dreader wakes from rest, to bear you off, a phantom guest. So sleep, sleep, my little one, befo
  12. Thanks for the encouragement🙂 I will start the new book soon, probably in the middle of next week.
  13. Lupus

    Chapter Two

Kieran is a jerk, and Lachlan is a total asshole. Maybe Kieran will grow into a better person from this. It's interesting to see how the story unfolds. I wonder if this is a wig😄
  14. Lupus

    Chapter One

The story begins in a truly captivating way, immediately drawing the reader in. It feels like everything is perfectly balanced: an intriguing premise, a likable main character, suspense, rich lore, and anticipation for what’s to come.
  15. Key People Andiol Empire Josel Sandkan ("Goldy", "Josi"): 16-year-old boy from Paidos Andreuz Sandkan: Josel's father, an author Curtus Jerovann: Josel's father's assistant (deceased) Bartos Rigailon ("Bars"): Josel's friend, 16 years, son of a senior official Berron Rigailon: the chancellor, Bartos' father Darren Temjanion: Josel's friend, 16 years Danae Dannkas: the 15-year-old heiress of the Malkanian ducal family Offus: the chief chamberlain of the Dannkas family

    Epilogue

@akascrubber @drsawzall @VBlew Thank you for your comments! The next book will certainly provide answers to some of the questions that are still open. But new questions may arise - the story is not even close to the halfway point😀

    Epilogue

@Seraph28 I'm glad you liked the epilogue so much😊 This chapter about Prince Otello introduced a new plotline to the story, but hopefully, it will tie everything together later on. Otello is one of my favorite characters in the story - he's a slightly different kind of hero. It took quite a long time for Troubadour Kharl's identity to be revealed. However, the history of Josel's family holds significance for the story as a whole. I'll try to continue with the third part soon.🤗

    Epilogue

Otello Dimalos, Andiol Empire in 1592 (the day before the Spring Day Festival) Midday arrived in its full splendor. It was the first warm day of spring, and Otello was going to enjoy it by reading in the garden. He had been placed to sit in the shade beneath the dense chestnut tree. It was one of his favourite spots in the large garden. From there, one could overlook the pond while also enjoying a view of the backyard of the Sun Palace. Despite the shade, the heat was beginning to ri
  19. Lupus

    Chapter 29

True, Jolanda doesn't make things any easier with her actions. Losing her looks has thrown her off balance, and it's hard to imagine that someone in that state could make very sensible decisions😵 There are definitely too many bad guys; not all of them could succeed.
  20. Lupus

    Chapter 29

@akascrubber Yes. Zal and company have a lot of enemies after them. There are indeed many villains in this book series, and I'm afraid we haven't even met all of them yet😬
  21. Lupus

    Chapter 29

Jolanda Five Hills, Andiol Empire Dark clouds had veiled the stars from view, and an unseasonably bitter, icy rain lashed the nighttime streets of Five Hills. A young woman, wrapped in a dark cloak, paid no heed to the rain. From the back of her black steed, she gazed at the tallest tower of Castle Cache. The flames from its windows reassured her that the situation inside was at least partially beyond the Blue Moon's control. Right next to the tower was said to be the most sacred place on
  22. Lupus

    Chapter 28

@akascrubber Yes. The journey to the Misty Isles will not be easy. Enemies lurk around every corner, and without Zal, everything will be harder. Zal's situation is bad, let's see what happens and hope for the best.😬 @drsawzall Renn certainly hasn't forgotten Zdain. He knows he's in a good position now, but will his good luck, blessed by the Darkness, last forever?
  23. Lupus

    Chapter 28

@Seraph28 Yes, I have already written the next part of the series. However, I still have to translate it into English, so I'll have to take a break between books for at least a couple of weeks before I start the 3rd book. Translating is slow work.😶 I'm sure Renn will come up with all sorts of nasty things to torment our heroes.🥶 More about that in the next book. I wish you a very peaceful and relaxing Easter.😊
  24. Lupus

    Chapter 28

Bartos When Bartos woke up, he had no idea what was going on. Bells were tolling loudly somewhere, though it was surely still night. "What's happening?" Darren mumbled sleepily from across the room. Bartos couldn't answer, but it felt strange. It was as if some outside force was poking him all over his body with a sharp stick. He shook off the strange sensation and fumbled through the nightstand's drawer. Luckily the matches were quickly found and he managed to light the lantern.
  25. Lupus

    Chapter 27

@drsawzall Yes. Renn is definitely a bad guy, but Zal and others don't know that. Unfortunately, on the contrary, they trust him. Just like Melgy thought in chapter 16: Thanks for the comment. I also like this chapter myself and it felt good to finally bring Zal's perspective to the readers' attention. 😊
