Yes, I have been working through my older stories and re-editing them for posting on GA. ( Did you also send me an email with this question? I tried to reply but it bounced back 😕 )

Chapter One I felt like a stranger; standing on the outside looking in. Wanting to belong. Wanting to be a part of that world. Not knowing if I ever would. Not knowing if I ever could. It wasn’t as if I didn’t belong in there. I had graduated at the top of my class at the academy after all, and this wasn’t my first posting. I had paid my dues, and I felt that I really did belong in there. It was just that I was different from the rest of them. And for that, I was sure to pay. ‘

In a world where everything is not as it seems, a hotshot young police officer has been posted to an inner city station, just prior to the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. Was his appointment a political one, with his superiors knowing more about his past than even he cares to remember? Or is that past about to catch up with him? What comes next? Only time will tell!

@Paladin I was only thinking about Fishers Ghost today! lol

Thank you. And Halloween is something that has only started to happen here in the last 20 years or so, I think. It was always just "an American thing" when I was a kid, but the big retailers started to cotton onto it here and then there started to be a push for it. Funny, that, eh? LOL

We Dare You ‘The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window.’ That was how Eric’s story began. Four teenagers; Chad and his best friend, Shawn, Chad’s brother, Eric, along with Eric’s friend, Donnie, were shooting the breeze, smoking Winfield Blues and swigging from a bottle of cheap booze the brothers had swiped from dad’s cabinet. ‘Gawd, not that old tale again?’ groaned Shawn. ‘Well, legend has it that every year on t

Every town has a history. Every town has stories that have been handed down through the ages . . stories that tell of people or events that may, or may not, be real. Thompsonville is no different. In fact, this town probably has more than most. Here’s just one of them!

@everyone-who-has-commented ... thank you very much for your interest in this story and for your support. I am looking forward to continuing this little tale, once I gather my thoughts about where, specifically, I would like to to go. Rest assured, you will meet these characters again, somewhere down the dusty, Aussie tracks and backroads.

Paul Hogan or Ted Bulpit maybe? LOL

@weinerdog where do I start? lol Yeah, it was that kind of cigarette. lol Yeah, Tugger nailed it! A man before his time The quiche quote ... it was something I remember from my younger years ... my teens, I thought, which would put it in the 70's, so maybe we can take credit? 🦘🦘🦘 I think you were hoping Nate would find a way to stay, weren't you? lol And yes ... book two will ever more towards Phoenix and River I think, while also keeping tabs on Jake and Danny and the others in the KF community. One of the main reasons I wanted to write this was to put some doubts in people's minds about Nate ... is he or isn't he! You'll all find out the answers when we meet him again ... Thank you for your comments and support!

-- Chapter Seven -- It was early afternoon by the time Danny and Nate made it back to the humpy that was being turned into a house, their skin was shining and slick with sweat, hair sticking to their foreheads. In the heat of the day they were both thinking that another dip in the creek about now wouldn’t be such a bad idea. They found Jake and Loz sitting in some shade between the house and the studio, with beers in their hand, while Loz was also holding a dubious looking cigarette,

@Calvin methinks you may be overthinking this! 😋

Yes, not only was he a brilliant performer, but he was a brilliant song writer. The Ladies Lounge is now the dining room for the restaurant. Did you see the TV mini series with Rebecca Gibney playing his mother? It outlined a lot of his growing up years in Armidale. They moved here after his father shot himself as I recall. MP

haha @Summerabbacat and don't ya just love a pair of Marracca's? LOL As it happens, Peter and I have a few things in common, like ... living in the same town, he went to school with my uncle (he was a couple of years above Unc. though), we've both had blow jobs in Cinders Lane (at least I didn't get busted by the cops though! haha), and I've had meals in the hotel bar where he used to perform here! Oh, and we both prefer guys! He's almost a brother! LOL

-- Chapter Six -- ‘So, any plans for the day?’ Nate asked over coffee and more bum-fruit on toast. ‘Are we building again?’ ‘Loz said we could use the cement mixer, but it's not much good without bags of cement, so the plan is that we’ll slip into the local rural supply store and get some bags of concrete,’ Jake answered. ‘And while we’re at it, we could always take you sightseeing, if you fancy that?’ ‘Well, they tell me there are some waterfalls around here, so I wouldn’t
