  1. @Summerabbacat aaahhhhh, the memories! Remember them all ... even if I wasn't a fan of them all at the time! lol I do remember the guilty feelings of furtively listening to and enjoying the Bay City Rollers ... and hoping I wouldn't get found out by any of "the guys" !!! LOL
  2. @Summerabbacat not until I played it, then I recognised it. Wouldn't have been able to say who the singer was though. haha!
  3. @Summerabbacat ahhhh! Yeah baby!!! LOL
  4. -- Chapter One -- The old school bus rattled and shook with each passing mile, as it headed north along the narrow road that led to the small, rainbow coloured, town of Nimbin. With each bump in the sometimes bitumen – though sometimes dirt – road, Nate’s guts were churning. It had been more than a year since Danny and Jake had left Thompsonville, and while he had seen them a couple of times since then, briefly, this was the first time he would be visiting them in the place they had made th
  5. We first met Nate and Danny in The Seventeenth Summer. Best friends forever, but then Danny fell in love a year ago, and left Nate behind. Nate couldn't blame him; after all, who wouldn't want to escape Thompsonville, but that didn't change his feelings. One year on, it's Nate's turn to escape, but first he needs to see Danny, perhaps for the last time. Can he finally tell his best friends how he really feels? Or is it time to finally spread his own wings and experience life for himself? Or perhaps, life has other things in store for him? The only way to find out, will be to find out what happens in Kandanga Falls.
  6. @weinerdog I do sometimes believe that @Summerabbacats imagination is even more fertile than mine! 🤣🤣🤣
  7. @Summerabbacat your flattery is ... errr ... flattering. And as fast as there being a wealthy branch of the Peters family, I think they must be on another branch of the family tree! lol And ONJ... yeah, we'll definitely use that song in the movie! lol
  8. @Summerabbacat to which one are you referring? 😋
  9. Thank you everyone for all your comments. So happy to hear that people have enjoyed the story and are already wanting more. Stay tuned! In the meantime, maybe you might get a kick out of this...
  10. @Summerabbacat nailed it!
  11. -- Chapter Twenty-two -- Taking one last look at the two of us in the full-length mirrors in Dallas' bedroom before we left for the party, I had to admit that I liked what I was seeing, especially after he put on his shades. We looked about as hot as we could, and if what Dallas was wanting to do tonight was make a statement, we were certainly on the right track. I couldn't help but wonder what Alex and Zack were going to come up with. As we headed outside to the car, I checked
  12. So, I've been playing with AI again . . . and here's a little present for ya'll!
  13. -- Chapter Twenty-one -- I could see the anger in Dallas' body as we retreated inside the house; his tense shoulders, the grim expression on his face, but the most telling sign of all was his trembling hands. As I followed him through to the kitchen, I also saw him clench and unclench his fists several times. He was like a bomb, wired and ready to explode. At the first opportunity I set the pizzas down on the kitchen bench, then placed a hand on his shoulder and spun him around,
  14. Thank you, kind sir! Only a couple of chapters to go in this one though ... so it was nice to make the list while it was still running 🙂
  15. -- Chapter Twenty -- Knowing that we were starting to run out of time this afternoon, we decided to forgo any extra kind of workout in the garage before Dallas' mother was due to return, so we made sure that we showered and cleaned ourselves up with time to spare. We figured one hot and sweaty session in the bedroom was sufficient exercise for today. Dallas even sprayed some air freshener around in his room, worried that his mother might pick up on the smell of teen sex if she h
  16. "Pick me! Pick me!" the eligible batchelors... and a few not so eligible ones as well... all cried!
  17. -- Chapter Nineteen -- The following morning I collected Dallas, just as I had been doing every morning recently, and before I had even been able to back out of their driveway he said, 'So, are we going? You said last night you needed to sleep on it!' 'Going? As in, together? As a couple? In plain view of everyone?' I replied. I know that this was what I wanted, for us to be together and to be able to just be ourselves no matter where we went, but it was still a big step. I
  18. -- Chapter Eighteen -- 'We moved to this town during the Christmas holidays when I was thirteen,' Zack told me. 'That was at the start of last year . . . not even two years ago. Mum enrolled me at this school because I went to a Catholic school in my old town, even though I'm not Catholic. I think it was also partly because it was the closest high school to where we were living.' 'So how old are you now?' I asked. 'Fifteen, I guess?' 'Yeah. The same age that Timmy Baker was
  19. I have been known to enjoy the odd Tim ... and even a Tam once, I think! Also partial to the occasional Wagon Wheel as well. They seem to come in two sizes these days ... the old regular sized one and smaller ones in a pack of 6. All delicious! You can keep that bloody Vegemite shit all to yourself though! Can't abide the stuff! LOL
  20. "BTW I'm enjoying the pace and development of Traditions." Thank you @Paladin
  21. Thank you @Summerabbacat for your kind words. 'Kevin' was just a name that popped into my head as I was writing it ... nothing mysterious about how it came about. I remember then being surprised when seeing a Kevin in WBUT2. lol (sorry about that @Paladin ... I'm not sure which Kevin came first! lol) As for the Imperial ... my mate Ian took me there when I visited Sydney one time (for work I think it was). Funniest night I've ever spent anywhere! A real eye-opener for this country boy! LOL Can't quite remember when it was exactly ... a few years one side or the other of 2000 it would have had to have been. And as for Traditions ... yes, it is a simple story. No great dramas or events so far. It simply started out as a small Christmas tale, but readers begged for more, and as I've progressed with new chapters it has started to take on a life of its own. Unlike most of my stories, this one doesn't really have a complete outline as yet. I'm just going where where it takes me, and I'm not in a hurry to get there either. It may end up being one of those tales that gets a chapter added every month for the next couple of years ... or not! LOL We'll just have to see what happens! MP
  22. My cousins were both looking at me with confused expressions, while Charlie was looking at me with suspicion. ‘Well, it’s kind of a long story,’ I began. ‘But basically, one of the guys I was working with in Sydney had a birthday, so someone thought we should take him out to celebrate. There were about six of us, and we went to a restaurant in Newtown, which wasn’t too far from where most of us lived, then afterwards we found ourselves at the Imperial Hotel … you know, the place that featur
  23. Oh, I have plans for his punishment . . . but just remember that it's not "ALL" going to happen in this story, okay? Patience is a virtue, don't you know? lol MP
  24. Yup. I remember calling into a gas station once and that sign was in the men's room... "We aim to please. Would you aim too please?"
  25. We do aim to please!
