I hope this thread is appropriate for this thread, and please go ahead and split it if you feel the need. I have recently completed a series in 1st person. However, it is part of a trilogy, and I am going to write the remaining two in 3rd omniscient. I am doing this so that I can cover all the characters without having them constantly attached to the main character. He is still central to the plot, but I want to cover the others. As a matter of fact, I just finished the 1st Chapter of the sequel, and I am happy with the freedom of 3rd person for the new series. Is it okay to do this?

The Fourth of July represents the day when the United States declared itself independent of England in defiance of the crown. Fireworks, to me, represent two things. The first is the firing of muskets as the colonists fought the British in an attempt to finally be free from tyranny. The other is the fact that fireworks are now part of celebrations. I, for one, am proud to live in this country, and I always remember the sacrifices of the colonists on Independence Day. If not for them, we would probably be part of The Commonwealth of Nations. The US would not have been able to have the success it has had. As for this Fourth of July, there isn't much of anything special planned. We usually have a cook-out at my aunt's house, but she is going to be having surgery.

Of course you're going to say that. LiS 26 was quite intense, but you have plenty of examples of your own evil cliffhangers, and that is why the title now belongs to you.

It may very well be foreshadowing. Also, I seem to remember something about "who lives", so that tells me someone is going to die. It may be Brandon.

I like the new name, Mike. I've changed my name from tlwritinger to TL The Writing Tiger to Tiger, so I can sometimes see the reason for a name change.

I certainly liked this particular chapter. I love seeing Kyle and Worthington getting closer. Just like Mike said, there is some kind of evil there. This could be a real test of their new relationship. It should be interesting to see what happens next.

Ahem! Most of us do remember LiS Chapter 26, and even if we forgot, it would not be for long. Also, it is my understanding that Jacob originally died, so you are not above creating tragic circumstances.

That depends upon just how evil it is. Though not expressely stated, I think it means tragedy. It could be tragedy in the sense of love lost or it could be loss of life. I could be wrong though.

I've read the first five chapters of DoH. I'm probably going to read more today. I am taking a break from writing for a little while as I need some time to recharge my creative flow, so it's a perfect time to read. I have heard about the ending. Still, just from what I have read of Rich Boy, dkstories is quite capable of evil cliffhangers. However, I have yet to see him surpass C James. I will no reveal that my vote was for "Yes".
