  1. Damien couldn’t wait to chill out and do nothing at the end of the long and arduous school day, but like a crazed and obsessed stalker, school followed him home in the form of three pages of algebra, two earth science worksheets, a two-page essay in Global History, and a book report on To Kill A Mockingbird in Literature class. “Look at all this fucking homework.” Damien groused. “I get that it’s high school now, but give us noobs a break!” Mathematics was never Damien’s strong point w
  2. For me, the best booktuber to me is KrimsonRogue. His reviews of bad books, especially Onision's books and Empress Theresa, are not only funny as hell, but they're also a wealth of information when it comes to what not to do as a writer.
  3. This story has an interesting history as I've been working on it on and off since I was 18 years old. (I'm 30 now, btw) I started working on it in my senior year of high school as a Sims story, first with The Sims 2, then TS3, and finally TS4. The first draft of this story as a SimLit is already done, but I'm not gonna post it here or on any Sims forums because, frankly...If you think this is bad, then the first draft was even worse. While my beta readers seemed to enjoy the main meat and potatoes of my story, there were a lot of issues that I'm hoping to iron out with this second draft. A lot of telling and not showing, badly described scenes and characters, exposition dumps, etc. I'm hoping that now that I'm embarking on a mission to rewrite this novel, it'll grow into something worthwhile. If I were to describe The Scandal in a nutshell, I would say that it's a gay bear-themed romantic drama with some elements of coming-of-age and thriller, so if you're into big beefy daddy bears and reading about coming out and accepting yourself as gay, this is the story for you! This is a very personal story for me, as I started writing it when I was struggling to accept myself as gay as a high schooler; writing this has been a form of catharsis for me. I hope you all like it, but I'm not under any illusions that I've written the next Great American Novel. This is simply my story.
  4. The blistering guitar riff of “Rock n Roll All Nite” blared directly in Bryan’s ears, shocking him out of a deep sleep. His large, hairy hand slammed down on the snooze button of his clock radio tuned to the local rock station and the music immediately ceased. He opened his eyes to face the digital display of the combination clock radio and calendar. 6:30 AM- Friday-5 September 2008 He desperately wanted to re-close his eyes for a few more precious hours of sleep, but he knew all too w

    Chapter 1: Solitude

I want to avoid spoilers of course, but all I can tell you is that this is NOT going to be a carbon copy of Pretty Little Liars.
  6. In American society, it was expected for young men to embark on their own journey through life, moving out of their parent’s homes to start over elsewhere, working a successful career, owning a piece of property, taking a wife, and starting a family of his very own. Desmond Mancino was no exception to this expectation; however, living up to it has proven to be much more difficult than he expected in his younger years. He was an exceptionally well-traveled man for his young age, familial issues h
  7. What's the usual ETA to when a chapter is submitted to when a chapter is approved? I only ask because I've started to host my longtime passion project on this platform and I've currently have about twenty chapters of the second draft done (The first draft is completed but it's an absolute fucking disaster lol) And I'm sparsing what I've written so far out rather than post it all at once, all whilst I'm continuing to write more and hopefully have a chapter done by the time a past chapter has been approved. I'm just curious to know how long it usually takes to approve a chapter so I can take that time into account when I'm spreading the chapter releases out.
  8. The 1999 Toyota Camry wasn’t a fancy car by any means. Classic late 90s-early 2000s sedan shape with good mileage and decent fuel efficiency. Painfully lacking in “cool factor”, but the only thing the car’s owner cared about was that it got him from point A to point B reliably without fail. The Toyota’s owner emerged from his small single-story ranch home dressed sharply in a black three-piece suit. However, he resembled the kind of man who would rather own a Hummer or a jacked-up Ford F-15

    Prologue

It didn’t matter how old he was or what grade he’d be entering in the twilight months of summer; one steadfast, unassailable fact would remain. Damien Marshall would always hate, or more accurately, DESPISE, back-to-school shopping every August. Even the mere passing mention of the words “back to school” in a radio or TV advertisement would make the young man’s heart sink into an abyss with the knowledge that his two-and-a-half-month reprieve would soon be over. He’d find himself back into

    The Scandal

The Scandal is a raw, honest, uncut, no-holds-barred portrait of the lives of three queer men who became intertwined in the strings of fate. It is a tome about lust, sensuality, infatuation, and romance, but it is also a story about personal growth, self-acceptance, the changes in life, and the endurance of true love, even in the most arduous of circumstances.
  11. Honestly, this is something I think about a lot when it comes to my own project. It's not going to be this inoffensive slice-of-life romp with gay men as main characters. One of the main protags is a gay teenager attending high school in the late 2000s and early 2010s, people in those days said "That's so gay" when referring to something lame or stupid, people used the word f@ggot like there was no tomorrow. Having those words in my book does not justify or glorify the usage, that's quite literally how it was in those days. Believe me, I lived it. This is really why "anti-" culture that you see on fanfic sites is so toxic. Just because you write about something doesn't mean it reflects on your morality as a human being.
