  1. lol, i am not sure how to interpret it that you name your brother along with the pets... if you love your pets then the meaning could be you dearly love your brother too, but it could also mean that he is not a full family member and has to sleep with the animals in the barn ??
  2. i know i am late in catching up with CJs writing... but anyway, i wanted to say i love this one ... Really nice story there... and that Kawaii is one of my fav places on this planet doesn't hurt either ;-). Oh, and i love indian food and spices a lot too ! You can easily home-make Ghee yourself. You don't need to start with fresh milk to make butter and then clarify the butter ... you can start with normal butter which shouldnt be a problem getting, and then clarify it by cooking it slowly http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clarified_butter. You cook it (without burning it ;-)) to vaporize the water in it, and the solid particles (proteins i think) can be filtered or are separated because they sink to the ground... I am sure you can find links to recipes how to do it as well - but its actually rather easy to do
  3. welcome John ! i am sure you will like it here.. being a rather new member of the forum, i definitely like this place
  4. (8)if you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with(8) lol, sorry, a bit out of topic.. but reading those last posts reminded me of that song line (Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young : Love the one you're with). But i think love doesn't work that way.. you can't switch it on and off as you please. I agree with Tiger... (or is it Tigger ? )
  5. does that mean that you get to read it first Graeme ? lol /me moves to Australia
  6. haha, yes, i spend all weekend reading "Let the music play".. once i started i couldnt stop, because at the end of each chapter the cliffhangers made me read the next one.... until my eyes closed on their own at about 4 AM. lol evil evil evil ! but... brilliant
  7. I think it depends very much how you define "dating".... basically i totally agree with Menzo... i couldn't imagine dating more than one person at a time myself, but i can hardly imagine dating anyway
  8. yea, me too !!! that was sooooooooo mean of CJ
  9. Happy Birthday Eric !! have a wild party !! all the best fellow Capricorn
  10. yea, i can't name a single book either.. there are many i really like. among them are Herman Hesse: "Narziss und Goldmund" ( i guess that translates to Narziss and Goldmund) Robert M. Pirsing: Zen or the Art of motorcycle maintenance Herbert Rosendofer: Briefen in die chinesische Vergangenheit (probably something like: Letters to the chinese past) Pattrick S

lol, yea, that stuff has always been easy for me too.. but its not everybodies thing... and its fun for me to explain that stuff.. so i don't mind at all to help her out.
  12. yes, i am sure there are plenty of gays that like classical music. But is it more common for gays than for str8 ppl ? I don't think so... so what i wanted to say is i don't think classical music is a "gay thing". (and yes, i do NOT know the right people lol)
  13. i like a lot of music genres, including classical music.. but if the "fat lady" starts to sing, it curls up my toe nails (in a bad way). I don't know why, but i can't listen to operas. Lol, well, i guess i am weird . Musicals and techno/dance/trance music bore me, German "folk" music drives me crazy, and operas make my ears bleed. As for classical music and being gay - i never saw a relation between the two items. I know some (professional) classical musicians, and they all happen to be very str8. Hmm, actually all the musicians i know are str8. Maybe i don't know the right people
  14. oooh, the ideal customer for all IT professionals.. a tolerant user haha good for you.. and for your nerves ;-)

awww, you poor guys lol well, there has to be an advantage of being older ...no more exams. But - as the good uncle that i am - I will be digging into physics and math with my niece tomorrow to help her prepare for her exams. I really hope i can help her - she is way scared which doesn't help with the exams either...
  16. well, too late for any recommendations now *lol*, but it sounds like a good deal to me anyway. IMHO, Vista is a real pain in the neck. I know many of my commercial customers will NOT get any systems with Vista installed. Seems Microsoft got that message now too... XP Pro will be supported for at least until the next ("after Vista") OS will be ready to ship... but well, if Vista does the job for you, then all is well (*keeps fingers crossed* ;-)). But if you do have too much trouble with Vista, then try to get a XP Pro license. I am pretty sure you can get all the drivers needed for your notebook. And maybe you can even get a license from HP/Compaq. But i hope you don't have too much trouble with Vista so you don't have to "downgrade".
  17. Yes, most of the authors that i gave feedback to in the past (via email) seemed to appreciate it.. and i think email, pm, or "publically" in a forum are the only way you guys know that your work is appreciated. A published author knows how well his books sell by checking his account . But your only way to know that someone is actually reading what you post by feedback.. and its the least i can do - as you provide my entertainment and education for free - to let you know i actually read it and like it.... and besides that after just a few days here i really like the athomosphere *leans back on the sofa and gets a cup'o'tea* thank you all for the warm welcome
  18. I think you are spot on... when i discovered gay fiction on the web years ago, and started to read.. i did join the first forum and was lurking for quite some time before i was feeling comfortable enough to do my first post... its a bit like a small coming out.. at least it was for me.. opening that closet door a tiny little bit to peek out... so joining a forum and lurking may be a first (important) step for some out there... doing the first post might be the next. Some people (like me) have to make progress by doing "baby steps".. it may take longer than for others, but well, everybody at his own pace ;-)

    summerstorm

Its "Schorsch" or "Schorschi"... typical German name from the south :-p, well, actually the way they pronounce "Georg" there ;-) I guess there are some "German insider" jokes that are hard to get for "non Germans"... I loved that film too - saw it at the movies when it was published. I think they did a great job. And for once my tax money was spend on something worth it
  20. thank you kid :-) Yes, i thought too its kinda late to post something here.. but ...*shrugs*.. now its "official" ;-)
  21. For me, music and music styles don't have anything to do with sexual orientation. Well, there are of course some openly gay artists that have some obviously gay love songs (at least here in germany there are some), but that doesn't make me like the music. If the music fits my mood, and gives me goosebumps, its good... thats all that counts ;-)
  22. Well, as i am new here i suppose i should say "Hi" also (even though i already posted on some threads). I am YaP (Yet another Pete) from Germany (duh, you can see that on my profile ;-)). "Middle aged", or some say "at the best age" (haha, well, once you are over the midlife crisis i think its a good age actually). Self employed software engineer, hobby musician... hmmm, well, ask me if you like to know more about me ;-) I have been reading here at gayauthors for quite some years, but was one of the many "quiet" readers around. I signed up mostly to give feedback to all those awesome writers here, that share their work for free for all of us to read and definitely deserve a hug and a "thanks a lot" once in a while for their efforts... So - as many of the authors seem to be active here on the forum - i'd like to thank yall very much again for what you do.. reading stories from gay authors definitely made a change for me (special thanks to Dewey who runs his own site but probably is well known here as well). laterz ;-)

    Sexy accents

haha, as far as i remember they were southerners with a rather strong accent.. thats prolly why i picked some of it up talking to them.. but i am sure i lost that over the years again. If i picked up an accent (other then the obvious german one that i think still shines through, especially if i haven't been talking much english for a while), then its very likely more the "Bostonian" one, as i was living/working in Boston for 6 month while i was studying... but that was long enough ago that the german accent has taken over again ;-)
