  1. My friend and I spend an afternoon customizing and embellishing clothes all the while lokoing through fashion magazines and realizing we called almost every single trend this fall.
  2. Thank you so much, I think someday we'll have our own city.
  3. I have a strange tendency to absorb people's mannerisms if I'm around them for enough time. be it a ecularity in their speech or something they compulsivey do with their hands. It's usually just being around them that brings it out, ad I think it makes me easier to talk to for some people because they can see a bit of thmesleves in me, sublminally in a way, I guess. But that's beside the point. I grew up freaking out about not fitting in and that's had a great impact on how I am now. I learned later the value of being unique, which still made many aspects of the personality I put forward dependent on those around me, it's merely how I try to not be them. I've changed myself frequently in my life, and as a result I supress memeories, deny sections of my life, and even avoid people I knew then because I've 'changed'. It's more I take what others see in me, want to see in me, or what I want them to see and then run with it. Oftentimes I'm comfortable doing so, but it never lasts forever. I think I've begun to settle down though, and maybe I've struck upon a persona I can stick to, it combines the elements of my past ones. I've always had the same anxieties, but its evolved into how I fit in with others to how I 'sync up' with others.
  4. I've quite recently come into my inner freak, and I feel much better than when I was always just different from everyone else as opposed to just me.
  5. I say just force yourself to write more and more, even if it's crap, at least you're thinking about it and getting a writing mode where an idea could easily pop int your head and you can take it in a whole new direction.
  6. A dark green.
  7. Curse you and your unbearably open-minded family!

  9. I found that when I visited Buenos Aires recently, people there are actually much friendlier generally and have less inhibitions about eye contact or conversations. The whole city actually was much slower paced than I'm used to, even though it's so much bigger than NYC.
  10. As is the case wiht most cities I ssume, I've grown up in an environment that forbids eye contact. Mostly because I guess they're used to when it could get you in trouble, as it has for many. However, there are always little homey "pockets" of friendliness where people are more likely to indulge you a couple of nice phrases, like in the village. Then there's places like the financial district, where you can get run over if you even slow to a walk at one point.
  11. Boxers, boring and plaid from the gap. I never put too much thought into it, but the that's the beauty of boxers, you don't.
  12. It takes quite a bit of mining, but we all stumbled upon it at one point or another. I know I'm glad I did
  13. Happy Birthday! :ranger:
  14. While water spray in the face is a quite effective method of behavior modification, particularly for barking, when that fails, the next best step is either the throw chain or (my favorite) the rattle can. Basically, a rattle can is a thing that rattles and makes a lot of noise (which dogs generally don't like). The cheapest way to do it is to wash out an empty aluminum can and fill it half full with pennies (old pure copper ones if possible), then duct tape the thing closed. You can shake or throw the thing as a deterent for either the dog or the husband. It is best used when it appears to come from 'God' so that the dog has no idea that you are the source of the correction. It is best to throw the can so as not to actually hit the dog, but in front of or behind. The throw chain is similar in that it is desigend to make a lot of noise with minimal damage. Take about 1ft of that chain that is used to hang lamps, it is light and makes a lot of noise. With a large dog you can fling it at them and not cause damage. Also of the dog changes from simply barking (protective) at outside sources to growling at them (aggressive), seek professional training immediately. :king: Snow Dog <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I just out-bark my dog until she shuts up. It sounds really weird to others when they hear us 'arguing'

  16. I was an avid Nifty patron when I realized that the only source of the stories I really want to see out there is myself. Then I decided to write something of my own. Before then I'd done some writing for my own enjoyment before I'd discovered that there was an online community for my kind of work, After that the big decision was deciding to share it.

  21. I came up with my "R" a while ago when I as designing a logo for the Grim Reaper (this is how I pass the time). This is the first vaguely practical use I've had for it. I'm thinking of designing a crest for it too.
  22. I would ove to design the cover. I see it as some great morocco-bound leather biblical book with gilt edges and a large iron clasp on one end. Maybe there would be red velvet somewhere...
