That's a great point, and in fact, Brad does do that. He did it with Robbie, he did it with Cam, he's doing it with Marc. He's an infatuation-first kind of guy.

Dawn broke out over the placid Mediterranean Sea, slowly illuminating the area they were traversing. Granger was in good spirits, and for good reason. He had hosted Blayney to dinner and had truly enjoyed the man. With their initial conflicts surrounding O’Brian behind them, Granger found him to be charming and interesting. Even more of a positive was not having Lady Elgin aboard. Blayney told him that she was making life particularly
Good points! I can see JJ avoiding that whole scene, not wanting to pull Alex in for that kind of drama. Plus, JJ pretty much likes keeping Alex to himself. He doesn't seem to need (or want) a lot of other people around.
I think that Brad is in a situation where he promised Matt he'd be there for him, and Stef is pointing out that this is a nice way to show him.
I think that Brad's use of Matt to help resolve the problem was a good move, even though it had some Machiavellian moves. As for Stef, he's just being bitchy. As he gets older, he gets grumpier. ;-)
I'm not sure which person you were referring to with the house pets. It's possible that Devon is just being a nice guy, and that he's watching out for Cam because he knows Cam and: Brad and Will and Matt, are all good friends. It's more likely IMHO that Devon is tapping that.
Maybe Brad is maturing, or maybe he's on a more even keel now that he's single. He's pretty much admitted how much Robbie (inadvertently) fucked up his mind.
I think you've got a point on Brad's easy rationalization of the whole situation, and his disregard about Cam, but I'm willing to cut him some slack on the latter point. It's not every day you meet someone who just bowls you over.
I think that even though there are 'political' benefits to hiring Matt (as Brad noted), that doesn't mean it's not a smart idea. They're getting him involved in the company (garnering talent), and quite frankly, I'm not sure he's jumping into the middle of a big nightmare. I think Stef and Brad are now at the same place JP et. al are.
Brad tends to be that way, where he'll let his emotions roil him, but then he can calm down and think logically (and ruthlessly). Stef can be flat out bitchy and petulant, at his worst, and that's a tougher attitude to work with.

Brad
I sat at the kitchen table, having my morning tea and eating a croissant, even as I reviewed the progress on Triton’s expansion plans, which we’d named Project Zeta. Stef and I had come out here more to get away from Will and JP and their judgmental asses than anything, but it had turned out to be a good thing. In addition to working with Triton all week, we’d met with a few New York start-up firms that we planned to fund.
I think your observations about Alex may very well be accurate, but I think the funny thing is that JJ is so into him, he really isn't going to let that bother him.
