  1. Only Will’s paternal grandmother wasn’t a Crampton. His paternal grandmother was Mrs. Carmichael.

  4. September 12, 2004 Escorial Palo Alto, CA JJ “Am I supposed to meet Casey in the same room?” Kris asked, referring to Grand’s study. He’d just finished fixing his hair. When I’d run my fingers through it earlier, I’d deformed the gel, so he’d had to work to get it back in shape. Since my appearance was still perfect, I had no such problems, so I was lounging in a chair. “I don’t know,” I said, then stood up and took hi

  6. Welcome back!

  8. September 12, 2004 Escorial Palo Alto, CA JJ I stood in front of the mirror, working on different expressions, pausing to admire how perfect my hair was today. I knew that whatever these people (my family members) were going to throw at us, I’d need to be prepared. I knew my performance had to be top notch, so I was practicing my facial expressions like I was in drama class. I’d just finished perfecting my ‘I’m here to support
  9. September 23, 1801 Cowes, England Sir Francis Calvert had avoided Sir William Cornwallis, not because he did not respect the admiral, but because he was pained by his separation from the navy. He cared about Amelia, and he would probably grow to love her, but he truly was a fish out of water. All the royal rules and protocols were not as familiar to him as they were to the other courtiers, who did not seem overly concerned about his lack of experience and seemed ev

There's no reason to insult the poor guy. 😀

I don’t see Will doing that. He was willing to lay everything out for JJ provided he pledge to keep it confidential. JJ wouldn’t do that, so Will didn’t tell him. They clearly have a plan to try to lay this out for Kris in a way that is least likely to shatter Kris, and if JJ won’t keep his mouth shut, he’s a loose cannon.

September 10, 2004 Escorial Palo Alto, CA Brad “Good evening,” I said to Stef and JP as I joined them in the courtyard. It was six o’clock and normally I would have found them in JP’s study, but when we had guests, we gathered in a more public area of the house. In this case, since it was about 75 degrees and sunny, the courtyard was perfect. “Good evening,” JP said. I sat down and asked one of the staff members to bri
  13. September 20, 1801 Weymouth, England Granger walked down the street to the King’s house a bit apprehensively, which was unusual. After their unpleasant conversation at the King’s house and subsequent encounter on Endymion, Granger had gone ashore and met with Amelia, and they’d hammered out an agreement that basically gave Calvert his freedom to spend time with Granger, within limits. After that, things had been remarkably friendly, yet when Granger received a message from Cal

I loved that line too. It was one of my "put this in to make myself laugh" quips. I didn't go to Athens, but that's what all the stuff I read indicated. Should have had them stay on Stef's yacht, but this worked out because of the connections I wanted them to make.
  16. So many niche watch brands. I need IWC to make an appearance at some point. My go to is a Ulysse Nardin, but I stopped wearing jewelry a decade ago so it mostly sits in a drawer. I tried an Apple watch and thought it was cute, but I can't stand having things on my wrists. I'm unadorned and loving it.

I think that what JJ dealt with between when he was fun and bubbly and CAP 2004 is probably enough to mess someone up. If it's not, I haven't done my job. 😈
  19. Or maybe he’s always been a whiny bitch?
  20. I’m sorry you took a break, only because the reasons were sad. Hope you and your iPad are better. Thank you for your comment on relevance. I’m so glad that what is meant to be. Fun and interesting journey also has some relevance. 💕💕
  21. September 9, 2004 Escorial Palo Alto, CA JJ “So you didn’t want to divert to the airport to pick us up? That was too much to ask?” Darius asked me as the limo left the airport. As if things hadn’t already gone to shit, somehow they’d heard me talking to the driver. Our driver probably told their pilot that I was a dick about this. If I was in charge, I’d fire all these fucking people who couldn’t keep their fucking mouths sh

That guy is gone. Are you the same person you were at age 10?
  24. It is so good to see you back! You have been missed. Sometimes you get lucky at Waimea even in August. Besides, it was a check a beach off the list deal.
  25. “Even when we were in high school and you were a teenager, that song was perfect for you,” I told Claire lovingly. “It is a song about a high-priced call girl,” Marie pointed out, making all of us laugh even as I cringed in embarrassment. Sometimes I write things that crack me up. This was one of them.
