    Chapter 14

Wow. Last time we talked you were still on the Gunroom. You are ripping through them. Thanks for your comments. I like this book too. It's on my list to re-edit at some point down the road.

    Chapter 1

What a beautiful post. Thanks for your comments on my character building. I sense that when you talk about Michael, you have a feeling of fond memories laced with sadness, but the memories are the stronger of those forces. 💕 I'm glad that the story could spark that in you. I count that as a major success.

I suspect that in the future I'll clarify it more. It definitely should read direct male descent.

    So is @sat8997. 😀

    Chapter 13

Thank you! I think my writing improved as I wrote more books. My two favorite books in this saga are "HMS Belvidera" and "Odyssey". If you read them in order, it's probably better, but something to look forward too.

I don’t think Jack agreed to father a child with Jessica.

    Pregnancy

September 12, 2004 Escorial Palo Alto, CA Jays As soon as Will left the room, I started crying, not because I was sad that he was mad at me, but because I was furious that he’d assaulted me. Not only that, he’d hit me in the face, and while it hurt, I was more concerned about how I’d look. I’d probably have a black eye. I’d look ridiculous. My next engagement was on Tuesday: I’d show up and people would think I’d been mugged

Kris let us know that there were no heirs. The plague, other diseases, and constant wars make that very plausible

    Chapter 1

I read this, smiled, frowned, got sad, and ended up content. What a masterpiece.

    Chapter 1

Thank you so much! That means a lot coming from the author who crafted "Ceramic Dreams." That was great!
  13. OK. I finally figured it out. I was looking at the wrong info. And we're back to that patience thing again. 😀 Sorry about that, Myr.
  14. Hey there GA World! I'm writing a story where the main character ends up at Harvard. I'm vaguely familiar with how that university works, but I would love to find someone who actually experienced it and who can give me some pointers. I promise I won't burden you with more questions than you want. So if you went there, help me out. 😀

    Chapter 1

Great story. I love the interactions; the dialog was terrific. Seriously, who would name their twins Stephen and Stephanie?
  16. I type all of my chapters in Word (Doc) then upload them to Google Docs so my team can edit them. When a chapter is ready to publish, I download from Google Docs (File: Download: Microsoft Word), do a final read, then cut and paste it into GA. Seems to work for me, but then again, I like formatting, which the site doesn't appreciate, so I don't post unformatted text. That's an interesting idea.

    Chapter 1

Thank you so much! Building characters is a lot of fun, and it is so meaningful when it works. Thanks for noticing! This was such a meaningful comment, because it is a compliment to my esteemed editor on this project: @impunity Nothing makes an author happier than hearing that their stories are well written! Thank you! I try to have fun with dialog, and this story seemed to just play into that. As many of my stories as you've read, I'm pretty surprised you didn't figure out this one was mine. I'm choosing to take that as a huge kudo, in that I was able to be sleuthy enough to fool even you. 😀
  18. I just wanted to let you all know that I submitted a story for the Secret Authors contest here on GA. Now that the contest is over and I'm officially outted as the author, I thought I'd let you know about it.

Such awesome comments from you all! Thanks! Just remember that in the end, I like my stories like I like my massages: With happy endings. 😂
  20. Thanks Myr!! Mine doesn’t show that, but maybe that’s because I’m at Epic and the next step is Grand Epic Scribe?
  21. Myr, stepping into this thread a little late, but I also have a couple of questions about the rankings. 1. Is there a set number of points that we earn to get to the next level? 2. If so, what are those points? 3. How do I know how many points I have. On a perhaps related issue, I noticed that this February I will have been a member for 20 years, before some of the current members were even born. You have the patience of a saint. ❤️

September 12, 2004 Escorial Palo Alto, CA Brad “Would you like another drink?” Ramon asked Jake and me. This would be my fourth one and it was only the middle of the afternoon, but I decided I’d earned a little drunkenness today. “That would be great, Ramon,” I said. “Thanks.” “I’ll have sparkling water,” Jake said. I frowned at him for making me feel like a lush. Our pleasant ‘couple time’ was interrupte

  24. Then again, if every author votes for themselves, then there’s no advantage, right?
