    Chapter 21

That should evolve over the next few chapters!

    Chapter 21

LOL. Hopefully you'll like this story angle.

    Chapter 21

But I didn't drop you off.

    Chapter 21

Sorry i didn't respond to these. I'll post a new chapter to make up for it.
  5. Thanks! They had glory holes then, and they were in public bathrooms. Kind of weird...to go into the bathroom on campus and find a big hole in the stall. Could be kind of exciting if a hot guy was on the other side. ;-)
  6. I just wanted to let you know that I don't currently have a chapter ready to post, and I feel really bad about that, since the last one was a cliffhanger. Here's the way my mind works: I tend to get into a storyline and roll with it, and that usually has me shifting from story to story, where I'm knocking out a few chapters then switching back. I had most of the next chapter of Paternity done, then a computer glitch erased it. That was pretty demotivating, so I switched over to Odyssey and worked on that for a bit. So I'm sorry, about that, and I'll do my best to get another chapter out as soon as the muse hits.
  7. This post pisses me off, because Jeremy said you'd stick up for the water polo player and say that he wouldn't be that big of an ass, and now you're proving him right, and I really hate that. I agree with you about water polo players from my own anecdotal perspective, but I needed an asshole here for the storyline. You'll see his connection later.

    Chapter 21

August, 1797 Granger was deep in thought, focused on writing correspondence and reports, and was carefully drafting a letter to Prince John of Portugal, who while not the official regent of Portugal, was the de-facto regent, serving in lieu of his insane mother. August 20, 1797 Aboard HMS Bacchante, off the coast of Brazil Your Royal Highness, I am writing this letter to apologize most profusely for any offense I may have caused Your Royal Highness. I had hoped
  9. Wow. What an awesome surprise! I came home from a long day to discover that Trebs had chosen to feature Paternity this week as the featured story. Thanks Trebs, for the spotlight, and for all the nice things you said. You are such a classy guy. And thanks for pulling those reviews out and highlighting them. I really have some great readers, and their feedback fuels me, encouraging me to go on! Finally, thanks to all of you who left nice comments. You all put a smile on my face after a pretty hectic day!
  10. I don't think she's so evil that she's actually had a family member murdered. Beaten up, yes. Murdered? Hopefully not.

    Chapter 68

Maybe both a showdown and a hoedown. LOL. If I was Wade, I think I may never go back to Virginia, but then again, he's very into his heritage, and that's a huge part of it. It must be quite a conflict for him.

    Chapter 68

Thanks. And while I try to avoid the contrived cliffhangers, this chapter just screamed for one.

    Chapter 68

Great points. Let's talk about them: 1. I think that Will is just a fun interlude for Jeff, and vice-versa, but I think that Jeff had developed a very real thing for Wade. 2. They need all those nurses to make sure that Riley has the best care possible, and so his parents can go and drink and socialize and not be bothered with changing diapers and the like. At least that's what Elizabeth would think. I think Tiffany views things differently.

    Chapter 68

    Thanks!

    Chapter 68

I think that Elizabeth Danfield is focused on power, her power, and how she gathers it is really irrelevant. No ethics need be involved. Wade is so much more solidly grounded. I think that will keep him on an even keel as he goes through his conflicts with her.

    Chapter 68

I think that it's totally acceptable for Will to argue about things that impact his life, but it's a sign he's maturing that he makes his points more logically, and has a little less drama. A little less. :-) I can't see Elizabeth stealing Riley away from Wade and Tiffany, for two major reasons. First of all, they live in California, where that would be a tougher go for her, and secondly, Wade's not even married to Tiffany, so I would suspect that gives her more rights.

    Chapter 68

I figured out that JP and Wade can converse and it's almost like a soliloquy, a narration that can explain things. It makes sense coming from those two uber-logical minds.

    Chapter 68

LOL. I read this and one of those old Carol Burnett episodes of "As the Stomach Turns" came to mind.

    Chapter 68

I have a feeling you may be right.

    Chapter 68

New characters can be fun, and can spice things up a bit. Hopefully we'll pick up a few from this Thanksgiving.
  21. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 68

    That's a distinct possibility

    Chapter 68

Yeah, that was a bit of a cliffhanger at the end. That's what you all get for not even nominating me for that award last year. :-)
  23. You miss the whole point of the "mirror talk." First of all, I don't know any guys who really do this, but it was a fun way to set Will up to be embarrassed as hell, and to get him laid. Not that it's a big challenge to do that anyway. As I wrote it, though, it's not that these guys are saying this stuff because they're egomaniacs who really believe it, they're saying it to prop up their fragile male egos and to give themselves a confidence boost before going out and dealing with their peer group. The key to the whole rationale was Darius noting that it usually got him through the night before he woke up the next day to reality.
  24. I actually had the next chapter of Odyssey done and in editing, but I need to make some changes to it before it goes live, so I'm not sure if I'll make my Monday target posting date. It should happen around then, anyway.
